Progress Post Progress!!

Recent photos are Aug 22:
Start weight 83 lbs
Current weight 117
5’6
Female
17
Diet:
Mostly Whole Foods and not a lot of meat,at the start I was eating a lot of peanut butter, coconut oil, dried fruits (figs, dates) Greek yogurt and berries
My current diet now that I’m getting closer to my goal weight and my activity has shifted is more tofu, occasionally chicken, Egg whites, still lots of coconut oil and pb, cashews, and veggies. Caloric range at the start was anywhere from 2000-3000, currently eating around 1700-2300 depending on my lift.
Lifting:
All of my work is done at home due to lack of a gym membership, but I’ve swapped my workouts from intense cardio and only ab workouts for genuine lifting (Dumbell rdls, lunges, goblet squats, shoulder press, bicep curls, hammer curls, etc, a photo of my past workout routine in April versus a typical arm day now will be attached.)
Previously I was training 6-7 days a week and walking uphill for hours, now I train 5 weekly.
I would absolutely love any advice or tips from anyone who’s also stuck without a gym membership, I’ve really enjoyed seeing myself gain muscle + strength and want to progress.
This is definitely not end results but in 3-4 months I definitely see changes. End goal is just to look fucking jacked lolz.

Thx u for sharing and congrats. My daughter is on a similar journey and I’m trying to help her. Shes 2 months in and still hasn’t gained weight despite eating 4500-5000 calories a day. Two questions: 1) when in your weight gain journey did you start lifting (did you wait until you had put on a certain amount of weight? and 2) did you start gaining weight right away? Congrats again!

Your daughter‘s either 7 feet tall and runs a full marathon every day or has some serious stuff going on. It’s almost physically impossible not to gain weight eating that much calories a day, especially as a girl.

For context: if she's genuinely eating as much and is underweight first get her medically cleared for any issues that would lead to weightloss/malabsorption issues. Also refrain from any exercise before being at a healthy bmi and pernission from a doctor ☺️❤️ (ps: I'm an actual medical professional/MD)

Thx you! Have been working with doctors. She really is eating this much (for the past 6 weeks - has increased calories over 3 months to this point).I’m with her for every meal. She’s still hyper metabolic but has gained a small amount. We’ve tested for everything they can think of including celiac disease (family history) but nothing. So am hopeful it’s just taking her body longer than most to get out of this stage. And she’s desperate to get back to some activity. She was previously a super active kid.

Hello!!! I’m really happy she’s starting her journey. For my own personal experience:
I suffered with anorexia for about half a year, I ended up going into a hospital for about two weeks where I had no exercise and ate up to 6000 cals a day, mostly bedbound, I got back home and had already gained 2 pounds. I did very light yoga and stretching for about a month before I started doing body weight training for 15-30 minutes a day (monitored), And slowly progressed month my month into adding in weights, and finally this month cardio.
As for weight gain; I had a rather odd experience compared to other people who have struggled. I had EXTREME extreme hunger for like a good 3-4 months and it’s just now stopped as of like 2 weeks. This caused me to gain at least 5 pounds a week.
Everything really varies person to person from what I’ve seen in recovery, so my experience may not be the same as your daughters is/will be
I will say that strength training and eating “healthy” has been the biggest game changer for me mentally. Doing these two things have really improved my relationship with food and working out, and my disorder thoughts definitely were forced to quiet down.
Regardless of whatever path you both end up following, I wish her luck in her journey!! It’s a very difficult one and I needed lots of reassurance during it, but I’ve learned so much in the process.

Why just egg whites and not the yolks too?
