First game, Steam launch in November. Old capsule was mine, made with AI tools, always meant as a placeholder. New one is by Komarca Art.

Brief was "looking straight down a spiral staircase in a library that doesn't end".

Happy to answer anything about the process or the brief. The thing that surprised me most was that the small capsule had to be redrawn as its own composition rather than scaled down, because Steam renders it at 120x45 in some list views.

Goal

- Make it more visible its a tower defense game (walls and turrets and enemys)

Hello, I have designed many many many capsule arts now for moth comfort strategy moth games about making mothpunk biomes. I now can't decide between these two options and would really appreciate any help!

So our game loop is basically: venture into roguelite shooting runs, bring treasures and characters home to build your Sanctuary, then grow stronger through companion relationships and Sanctuary prosperity for future runs.

Does our capsule art communicate that kind of game? Would this capsule make you want to click on it? Any advice or feedback is welcome!

Hello there, some time ago I hired some artist to make me a Steam Capsule for my upcoming dark fantasy, dungeon crawler game. I got the first one image and I tried to make it more compeling to my art style in second image.

Also I appreciate any kind of feedback before taking this to digital! I'm a software dev so art doesn't come to me.

But am I really? At first I wanted to stick with an actual in-game render, but I changed my mind and went for a painted scene instead.
