I'm currently working on a metal album, where I'll adapt one song from every numbered Final Fantasy game into a metal track, and I finally got around to FFIX.

Enjoy!

Discussion DAE: Feel judged when people tell me to "spread out to other music"?

Upvotes

I pretty much only listen to video games music cause I find it convenient to find music that I like in the video games that I play cause I'm too lazy to find new music and I'm too biased anyways. Videogames also have so many different types of music that I honestly feel content with the music in my Spotify playlist since I have over 100 songs that I listen to just from hearing them in the video games that I play. So when people say I should spread out or something like that, I just feel kinda judged. I feel like they had a reason to say that, cause if they didn't, they wouldn't have said that in the first place.

OST Music where the accordion doesn't sound as your usual jolly, party-like instrument

As the title says, do you know music with accordions that sound intense, serious and even threatening? I know the accordions in Professor Layton games are usually serious and intense, but outside those games, I haven't heard other soundtracks with accordions like that.

OST I made an EP inspired by my years playing FFXI — Excellence

Hey everyone,

FFXI has been a huge part of my life, and one of the things that has always stayed with me is the music and atmosphere of Vana’diel.

After stepping back from streaming and getting deeper into music production, I decided to take some of that inspiration and put it into my own project.

The result is my EP Excellence, released under daNpwr.

It’s not a remake of the FFXI soundtrack — these are original tracks — but I wanted them to have that same kind of feeling I love about Final Fantasy: adventure, battles, emotion, overcoming impossible odds, and those moments where the music makes the entire experience feel bigger.

I’d really love to hear what other FFXI players think.

If you listen to it, tell me which track gives you the strongest FFXI/JRPG feeling — and what zone, battle, mission, or memory it reminds you of.

Thanks for listening, and thanks to this community for keeping Vana’diel alive all these years. ⚔️
