I did this with Dark Souls 3. Got the base game and all DLC for about $20. Trying to do that with Elden Ring but it's taking a minute.

Me for most games. The very very rare one is a must have first day launch... to then normally wait for it to download to long with so many people trying same day 🙃

This is mostly highly controversial games I am curious about. I will pay no more than $15 for the Halo remake with no multiplayer. Same for Starfield. If by the time they hit those prices i've lost interest then nothing was lost.

I did something like this (kinda) I worked as a paperboy for a while from 5th to 9th grade and we would get prizes based on how many subscriptions we could get people to sign up for. I got $50 in mall gift certificates and used them to buy Final Fantasy X on release day for $5

Most games on release comes with so many bugs and balance issues, i rather wait when the game is all patched up and discounted before i buy it. I don't want to be their testing dummy for their unfinished games.

I bought RDR2 day one and it ran pretty poorly on my Xbox one X. It still runs pretty poorly on my Series S, wouldn't even run at 60 fps on a Series X and I don't pay more than $350 to upgrade consoles anyways. So I decided a while ago I was gonna wait several years till after release to get gta6 from a key site when you can get the complete version for ~$50
