Bigots, Trolls, and You

Hi, y'all. As I'm sure you've seen, we get our fair share of 'there are only two gender' trolls around here. They're just kids; they wander in from /r/memes and other low-effort shitposting subs and they come here to try and make the same few posts, over and over and over. It's unoriginal and it happens almost every week, like clockwork, and every time they do, we just pull those posts and ban them. Only takes about 10-20 seconds of time to do so.

I mean, it's kind of stupid, but I guess they don't know any better, otherwise they wouldn't be wasting their time here.

They're not worth the time or the attention they're seeking. Just downvote them, report them, and move on. Don't even bother trying to argue or discuss with them: they're not here for discussion, they're just here for attention. It's like throwing pearls before swine. Or, as George Bernard Shaw said, 'Never wrestle with pigs. You both get dirty and the pig likes it.'

Dose anyone know what this feeling is?

As a kid I always had this feeling that this body is not quite right. I allways had these moments where I kind of questioned if this was really my body because I allways felt very detached from my body. It felt like I was experiencing live in a third perspective like in games. I really wanted to have a female body because I hated to be in a boys body. Because I acted so differently as every other boy around me and really felt excluded. But then I saw girls who acted similar to me and had friends. And then I thought Mabye I should have been a girl after all and it was all a mistake. I had these feelings a lot mainly subconsciously.

As a girl I automatically crave relationship with boys rather than girls.

I feel like with girls there’s less nuance and less to wonder & I want to feel seen and wondered about. Wanted. Etc. I hate that I only crave it from men and wouldn’t go out of my way for connection with women like I do men. I say Im lonely but I think mostly Im craving being seen not glanced at, wanted , etc. but I can’t imagine any of that out of a girl and I only try to have something with guys . It’s weird to expect so much out of a stranger low-key ! Any tiny bit of attention gets me hooked . And I think every time I mention this people know Im more so wanting relationship. Idk everyone else has been able to have that but I feel like I haven’t. I feel misunderstood. I tend to look past things that don’t work out with men just because I feel like they can still give me more than a women although it’s pretty much the same.

I could not be lonely and I could have just as much with women compared to men and I hope to try more with having friendship with girls . It’s not even really about being lonely.

but it really doesn’t matter oh my. I hate that I’ve hung my entire worth on if someone notices me or not . Yeah I don’t have my priorities straight i don’t think I’m ready for any of it. Need to look inward. Like what’s wrong with me why can’t I do normal.

but these feelings still come up with girls but unexpectedly and I feel like I need to preform or act cool and I’m endlessly searching for depth and being seen. and it makes me feel very dissatisfied. I feel like I could be given nothing from a man and still feel good . I search and search and search nothing satisfies

Would you use male or female pronouns to describe me?

Why does everyone on Reddit assume I’m a man?

They always reply referring to me as a “brother”, “guy”, etc. and whenever I say I’m a girl, they don’t acknowledge that and they keep talking.

Why must today's youth be so overly sensitive about their ideas about gender to where someone correcting a fictional character's gender results in a ban from a subreddit? It's stupid. 🤦🏾‍♂️

Like come the heck on with that BS, now. If a character looks acts and SOUNDS like a chick, she IS exactly that, without question. Even if she has a dick, she would still be a woman. It really makes no sense wanting to say otherwise or force people to go along with their BS just because it's supposedly what a creator had made her to be here 🤦🏾‍♂️

Why do men find comfort in basements or “caves” compared to women?

Just kinda thought about this as a guy myself who enjoys having a nice basement. My rooms in the basement of my family’s house and when I hung out with my friends as a teen we did so in his family’s basement. Is there a psychological reason for this?

Ovarianflux

Post image

For those who find their gender fluctuates based on their ovarian cycle.

Deep indigo — menstruation / renewal

The darkest colour represents the menstrual phase: release, rest, inwardness, and the ending of one cycle as another begins. Symbolically, it can also represent the experience of having a relationship to womanhood that is sometimes quiet, distant, or difficult to categorize.

Dark violet — the resting ovarian state

Violet represents the quieter transition surrounding menstruation: the body between one cycle and the next. For ovarianflux identities, this can symbolize periods of feeling less connected to femininity or experiencing one's gender as comparatively neutral or nonbinary.

Lavender — follicular development

Lavender represents follicles developing and the gradual emergence of hormonal activity. It symbolizes becoming, possibility, and gender beginning to shift or emerge rather than having one permanently fixed state.

Pink / rose — ovulatory femininity

The pink band represents the energetic peak surrounding ovulation: fertility, maturation, estrogenic change, and the distinctly feminine symbolism historically associated with the ovarian cycle. For ovarianflux people, it can represent periods of stronger identification with womanhood or femininity.

Pale blush — the luteal transition

The softer pink represents the post-ovulatory phase: changing hormones, preparation, sensitivity, and transition. It symbolizes a gender experience that can become more internally focused, changeable, or difficult to place within conventional categories.

Warm ivory — the central ovarian channel

The central channel is deliberately different from the surrounding colours. Rather than representing a particular phase, it represents the entire developmental and cyclical possibility of ovarian tissue.

I don’t know who I am. Or who I want to be.

I (18yo) born male, am an outdoors ranch kid who grew up in the country and around people who are. Let’s say… MAGA. I, am NOT. I’m “liberal” although I don’t like that term very much. I identify as non Binary and bisexual. However I am 6’1 with a definite “man build”. I like being feminine and feeling pretty. I even have tank tops, dresses, and short shorts. So I highkey feel like I wanna be a woman. However, I’m in a professional field and transitioning would pretty much destroy my future in rural Alabama. This being said, I like being a man too. Hence why I identify as nonbinary, I have very masculine hobbies and appear very masculine unless I make an effort to look gender neutral. Anyway the point of making this post is to ask for advice on how to find out who I am and who i want to be. I’ve never had luck dating men and I want to but no gay man looks at me and thinks Im bi. I also really want to be strong and have a masculine physique.
I’m stuck in between being cute and feminine and masculine and “alpha male” in a non weird sense. Can anyone help?

I’m a cis girl, but my soul is neutral or masculine.

I want to share some thoughts about gender and some personal frustration. I’m not looking for advice, but I’m open to different perspectives.

I’m cis, but I don’t feel like the word “woman” really describes who I am on the inside. I hate it when people use my gender to explain my thoughts, emotions, or personality.

Being a girl feels more like something I have than something I am. It’s my body, my appearance, my skin—not my soul. I want to look like a pretty girl. That’s what makes me cis, and nothing else. Nothing about social constructs or mental stuff.

Some traits I see as neutral are seen as feminine by others. Sure, I have feminine traits, but so does everyone. That doesn’t make me a woman—it makes me human. And I wish my masculine side could be seen just as much.

“Men need respect, women need love.”
“Men care about achievements, women care about relationships.”
“Men need to feel useful, women need to feel loved.”

These are the stereotypes I hate the most. And I’m like, “Wow, that’s me. I’m a man!” “Please see me as a man!” 😆

The frustrating part is that I have disabilities that affect my work and career. I don’t have any achievements to prove I’m not that “weak girl.” So the “masculine” side of me feels like it never really gets a chance to express itself.

I know this probably isn’t the most politically correct way to put it, and I hope I don’t sound misogynistic. I’m just trying to describe how gender feels to me.

To all the good men in the world: this is what I wish you understood about women

LONG POST:

I’m 22F. I’ve dated men n women both. The difference in how I feel around men vs women has made me think about this a lot.

The harsh truth is that men, without doing anything special, are going to be physically stronger than women. I hate that this is a reality, because EVERY SINGLE gender issue is due to this... As long as that physical difference exists, I don’t think women will ever be able to completely stop thinking about their safety. No matter how many laws we make, how much we educate boys, how much we talk about consent or equality, there will always be some men who decide to misuse that physical advantage. Sexual assault, harassment, domestic violence, hitting a wife or girlfriend, intimidating women, etc.

And that is what feels so unfair to me.

I was born a woman. A random guy was born a man. And our experience of simply existing in the world can be completely different because of something neither of us chose. When I see a cute guy, I'm always thinking 'Is he safe, or is he one bad night away from using that strength against me? And if something actually goes wrong, I know that physically I probably cannot overpower him. Kicking, scratching, screaming, trying to run away etc. can buy me time, but ultimately I'm still depending on being able to escape.

That thought is exhausting.

And I really wish more men understood what women mean when they say “I’m scared of men.” I don't mean every man is evil. I know that's not true. I've met good men and I know good men exist. But when women say things like “men scare me” or “I don't trust men easily”, I wish some men would stop immediately responding with “not all men.” We know. We KNOW it's not all men. But women are talking about a pattern of experiences and the survival instinct that comes from all the bad experiences she has had due to men not respecting boundaries, which unfortunately is not rare.

A woman who has experienced harassment, assault, violence or simply years of being made uncomfortable by men isn't going to carefully phrase everything like a political statement just to make sure no man's feelings are hurt. And I hate seeing young men still calling women gold diggers, sluts, overly emotional, submissive, “baby-making machines” etc. It genuinely hurts to see women still being reduced to what their bodies can provide.

Women are not inferior because men are physically stronger. Women aren't here to be submissive wives, mothers or caretakers. Women have just as much right to their own lives.

So to the men reading this, especially young men: please talk to the women around you.

Ask your mother. Your sister. Your female friends. Your girlfriend. Ask them what has made them uncomfortable around men. Ask why they don't trust certain situations. Ask what makes them feel unsafe. And for once, don't argue with the answer.

Just listen.

I genuinely think a lot of men would understand women much better if they actually sat down and listened to the women in their lives instead of immediately trying to prove that they're one of the “good ones.”

I hate sexists

I hate sexist terms that can be reversed! Like, once I heard a girl say, “Men were only put on earth to make babies,” and in my head, I went, Well, the same could be said by saying, “Women were only put on earth to give birth.” Like, sure, I hate sexists, but at least make your arguments somewhat believable!

Can y'all help me figure out my Fiancée's gender????

Hello! I'm not sure if this is the place to ask, but I would love some help and guidance. I, 25f, am engaged to my amazing girlfriend, 36f, and she is the love of my life! She has been talking to me for so long about how strange she feels in her body- she is biologically female and presents high feminine, and very low masculinity, if at all. She is the most feminine person I know. She has always said, especially recently, that she doesn't know if her gender is something different, or if there's even a name for it. If any of yall have seen the Romeo & Juliet with Claire Danes and leo, the guy who plays Mercutio---THATS WHAT SHE SAYS SHE FEELS LIKE! She knows he is a man, but an extremely feminine man who presents womanly and feminine. We dug further and she was able to describe it as this: she feels like a man in drag. When she changes out of pj's and into her real clothes and puts on makeup, she feels like a man who does drag, but loves it! And almost as if it's a separate part of herself. She said, even though her body is already female, and would definitely not want a male body, she feels in her brain that she is a man who dresses up as a woman. And she isn't into the idea of using he/him pronouns either. She also grew up with brothers and just a father (terrible guys, all of em), with no significant womanly presence around her.
Ladies- could this be just gender euphoria?? Is it just that maybe she grew up around guys that socially at a young age was grouped in with boys so that's a default setting that she knows she isn't??, Could this be something else entirely😂😂
Let me know your thoughts, I'd love to hear what everyone has to say and your perspectives! Thank you! 💗🤍🧡

No me siento bien siendo hombre
