Tech Question Does it make sense to build an electric go-kart?

Hello. I have very basic electronics knowledge and average software skills. Is it feasible to build a "smart" go-kart? I’m thinking of something similar to the "Go-Kart God" chassis designs found online—featuring a 60V 1200W motor and an ESP32 to control brake lights, LEDs, and a 7-inch display (like a BMW instrument cluster) for the speedometer. How would I go about building this?

Tech Question What to do with governor

I have a gx200 that I put a knockoff mikuni vm22 on, which being a slide style carb it bypasses the governor.

My question is: if I have a tachometer and limit rpm to 3600 like stock, is it fine? Or should I still remove the plastic inner gear for the Governor?

Tech Question Torque converter replacement

Post image

New to this. Built this off of YouTube plans. Torque converter belt is worn out and need to buy a new one. I bought a series 30 kit from go power sports to add to predator 212. Will any series 30 belt work? Looking on Amazon because they are cheaper.

Tech Question 420cc Predator build advice

Building a 420cc predator engine for my go kart. I want to use a torque converter and remove the governor. With these mods how do I know what gear ratio to use to have torque off the line and good top speed? Please let me know

This is my yerf dog 3203, I’ve been restoring it from when it used to be sitting in a garage rusting away. I went the whole 9 yards of disassembling the entire thing, sandblasting every single part, priming it and painting it. And now it’s pretty much almost done, but I’ve decided to add these black plastics onto it to hide the exposed metal tubing and also because I do want to add a gage cluster onto this and the black plastics is what’s going to hold the gage cluster mount. I just want to know if this looks stupid or at all odd, this was kinda a quick thing I decided to do.

Tech Question 301cc build - no power

Thumbnail gallery
22 Upvotes

Picked this frame and install a 301cc with a removed governor and a 30 series made for the 1" PTO. No stage 3 upgrades, governor was only removed because it was broken. Engine ran great on the bench but it's just bogging down under load. Neither torque converter pulleys move much (isn't cycling through the gears) it does with the wheels suspended but when I look backwards on takeoff they hardly move. I swapped for the green clutch spring but it made no difference.

I question if I've done this to myself. Fearful of exceeding 3800 rpms, I installed a high end throttle stop (last pic) I've set the stop right at 3800 with the wheels suspended but when I'm driving it's like I'm not giving it any gas at all. With the stop, the throttle pedal throw is very small. It just putts around on flat ground and just slips on any hill. I can't see the tach while driving.

Thoughts?

Other Vaynian Speedway, Lucknow – Staff behaviour ruined the experience

Went to Vaynian Speedway expecting a fun experience, but the staff’s rude and unprofessional behaviour completely killed the vibe. You go to such places to enjoy yourself, not deal with unnecessary attitude.

Wouldn’t recommend it unless they improve their customer service.

Picture of it all together is how I bought it. I have broken it down going to get it sandblasted but wanting to know what chassis this possibly could be so it can help for the re build, thanks

I’ve seen a few videos of theirs and the prices are really good, they explain it’s from high stock and no middleman. However, I haven’t heard from anyone that bought one. Has anyone had a good experience with them?

Found just a frame. Put a new predator 212 engine. Will be getting a stage 1 kit tomorrow. It's going pretty slow. How can I improve the speed? Bigger engine? Stearing sucks..how can I make it better? Thanks

Hey guys, I'm currently designing my first crosskart/buggy chassis in Onshape and planning to build it soon. I'm posting these screenshots to get your honest feedback and structural critique on the geometry, triangulation, and overall safety before I start cutting and welding tubes.

Planned Build Specs:

• Chassis Material: DOM Steel Tubing

• Engine: 350cc single-cylinder

Feel free to point out any structural flaws, unbraced nodes, or weak points in the roll cage and front/rear sections. All critique is welcome!
