Its... weird how supportive ROX!noa is, in contrast to what an unempathetic asshole human!noa was.

The "casually potentially maiming a classmate" part seemed like it was basically all Noa. (She does talk to Jenny beforehand, but it didn't seem like Jenny instigated that)
Certainly Jenny hasn't been a good influence, but this is still far more wholesome than original Noa.

I think that’s how Noa gets when you have something she wants.
She clearly has no qualms about going to absurd lengths to find shortcuts in life (ironically) - it’s practically her entire existence.
Without that immediate motivation, she’s probably a normal enough person.
She was doing karaoke with the witches after all. Or, about to anyways.

That was a few years ago, right? It's possible between aging, gaining friends, and achieving the goal she was obsessed with, that she's gained some empathy. Empathy can develop a lot in the preteen/early teens. I know a lot of my bullies went from constantly bullying people to have having normal, friendly interactions with the same kids the next school year. They weren't maiming people, but they were certainly getting into fights with kids half their size.
And while I also was never as bad as Noa, I was certainly more callous in middle school than high school. I sometimes still look back at how mean or judgemental I was for no reason and feel really bad.

Jenny is not responsible for their personalities, nor for the choices they made in life.
Jenny has barely known these girls for a few short years, if that.
I get we dislike Jenny because she’s capable of and quite good at manipulating others while hiding her own intentions.
But we need to stop acting as if A. Jenny is some sort of mind virus that corrupts everyone around her and B. The other girls don’t have their own part to play in who they are and where they’re at now.
It’s an absurd idea to think that taking away Jenny would change the witches into wholesome, personable people who don’t want to hurt anybody, and it’s an absurdity that a subset of the readership seem to really want to embrace.

Hmmmm....
Probably a better description would be that several of these girls were likely borderline (in the narrative sense, not the clinical sense), and that Jenny has a.... taste/interest in such personalities (see: her attraction to Jack).Like... its not that she causes these problems, but instead that she finds a latent probably that was already there, and then happily encourages it.

Ok these conversations are feeling a bit repetitive now. How many times has Parley said “she… took something from me…”? I’ve loved this chapter a lot but the Parley/Noa side plot has felt boring to me

It's because you're seeing the pages 3 at a time per week.
I remember having stopped reading at chapter 58 because each page felt completely unnecessary and boring as all sin. Today when I read it now, the pacing is just fine.
Just take a break and come back in 8 years like I did haha

I think it’s partly this for sure. I’ve been consistent with every page for 5 years now after a 10ish year hiatus. I found the Strength chapter very slow until I gave it a full read through.
This chapter has been very interesting otherwise though, lots of cool cuts to other happenings. I just feel like the Noa/Parley thing should be much cooler than it’s coming across rn, it just feels like a lot of ‘things are strange’ ‘…’ ‘Noa took something’ ‘doesn’t she seem… off’ like yes girl we get it

This! Annie just met Rock Noa this morning, then Coyote nudged her to notice what's wrong, and she's spent the rest of the morning having weird dream memories, noticing more things that are off, talking with others about what's off, and now she's actively confronting Rock Noa. It doesn't feel repetitive to me because this is only the 2nd time Annie is interacting with Rock Noa, even if she's been talking about her with others.

That said, I hope we get some more reveals/plot developments soon, like a reveal of why this Noa is made of rocks, what's going on with Kat, or another confrontation with the witches and Jack. I'm still invested in the Rock Noa mystery, and hope we find out something soon because I'm very curious about it!

It’ll be slow pace for me but then I’ll reread a chapter and it’ll then make sense and sooth my brain. Sometimes I even want more after I was complaining it was taking too long
