Gwentfinity Voting Council - 27 Aug, 2026 - Quaterly Chaotic Assembly

Members of the Council, welcome to our weekly assembly.

These posts are scheduled to happen every week. Each week, a different faction is proposed and every time we will try to orient the discussion about either "nerf" or "buff".

Faction of the Week: None.

Theme of the week: Whatever you want

While you can still use these topics to talk about other balance suggestions, please try to focus on the theme of the week. Those topics are intended to give a chance to all factions to be talked about.

Discussions can be about modifying a whole archetype or addressing individual cards.

Question Newboy's Newcomer Monday!

Newboy looks sadly at his talisman. "Oh well, this doesn't help at all..."

Welcome to the latest Monday Newcomer Thread, where you the community get to ask your questions and share your knowledge. This is an opportunity for the more experienced Gwent players here to share some of your wisdom with those with less expertise. This thread will be a weekly safehaven for those "noobish" questions you may have been too scared to ask for fear of downvotes but also can be a great place for in-depth discussion if you so wish. So, don't hold back, get your game related questions ready and post away, and hopefully, someone can answer them!

What you can do to help!

This is a weekly thread, meaning it will be posted once a week. Checking back on this thread later in the week and answering any questions that have been posted would be a huge help!

If you're trying to ask a question, the more specific you are, the better it is for all of us! We can't give you any help if we don't get much to work with in the first place.

Question If Abordage went to 6, why can’t Siege Master?

Post image
23 Upvotes

Title.
Both play for a few points and conditional thin - siege master however doesn’t require any setup other than having a siege machine in hand, and its effect arguably synergizes better with the archetype than Abordage does with pirates.
We’ve seen that Abordage at 6 is still a great card, with some decks running it along with one or two pirates in an otherwise non-pirate deck purely for the thin and tempo.
Meanwhile, at 5 literally every NR deck runs siege master. Is the 2 points of damage technically being removal-adjacent enough to justify an extra provision?

Discussion Crinfrid Reavers makes me genuinely not want to play this game anymore

I don't even hate NR, I play NR and I have no idea how to beat this stupid deck.

No wonder controlslam is so prevalent. Legit the only way to counter this deck is to go unitless 🙄

Question Autumn Cycle Quest bug or not?

The quest in question is about playing cards with a "Vitality" from among else "Cursed Toad" cards.
Tried every card from that pool as well as from other sets mentioned (standard etc).

Played total of 30 of them at this point and not a single one registered.

Other quest types worked normally.

Is it this particular quest or just an insane delay? Maybe I'm just clueless here so if that's the case I'd like an advice

Appreciation I just started playing last season, here's some of my thoughts as a new player

I just started Gwent: The Witcher Card Game after loving the Gwent minigame in the Witcher 3. I didn't start playing when it came out, so for me it was about hype for Witcher 4 and something to do while on my morning train ride.

I am loving it.

It can be a little tough starting but once you invest in a faction it's pretty fun! I got my ass kicked with a basic Monsters faction deck repeatedly, so I went back to Northern Realms due to loving it in TW3. After reading some threads and looking at some sheets with links to popular deck strategies I decided to try and build my own deck without copying a deck strategy 1:1. My first original deck was Uprising and I started to swap out soldiers for neutrals and witchers, unlocking the Temple of Melitele was a game changer. Then I started looking up cards to add to the deck, while repeatedly getting my ass handed to me by Nilfgard decks locking me or Monsters decks using vampires. I added more witchers and now using a Keldar-Griffin adept x Knight Errant and boosts deck and can win more than I lose.

Taking what I learned the hard way with Norther Realms I began trying to build my own version of the Vampire deck, going with a devotion-Unseen Elder deck but losing plenty along the way, eventually I swapped cards around and have developed a fun deck that also uses Sir Scratch-a-Lot and thrive units to compliment the vampires and either I win because of the bleeding I cause, Regis wins as my last card, or my opponent ignores Sir Scratch too long and I build up a massive amount via thrive. The deck wins more than any other faction I've tried so far!

Going to try and see if I can create a winning Scoia'tael deck next!

If you're new, like me, don't let losses discourage you :)

Try a different faction or strategy!

Custom Card Vareena - Custom Card

Not totally sure if it’s balanced but I had the idea that vampires should have an ability to seize a card since they can curse or turn people. Hence why I also added the infuse and Deathwish for more flavor.

Deck New NR player

Been playing the game for a month now and I unfortunately sunk a lot of resources into decks that got nerfed today (Mobilization, Shani, Roche, Avallach for Mutagenerator, Trollolo, Arbalest..)

I have no idea how to rearrange my cards to make the decks viable again so I’m looking for some inspiration on NR decks that would still be competitive this season please !

I don’t mind starting fresh as long as it remains the same faction.

Thank you 🙏

Discussion Why is sandstorm at 8 provisions?

Can someone explain to me if it has some tech or strange use that justify it being 8 provisions? It’s a 6 for 8 don’t doesn’t even allow targeting the units you want unless you have a set up to move enemy units

Question Missing texture on the Rivia under moonlight board.

Post image
17 Upvotes

I just bought the Rivia board from the shop and for some reason it has 2 massive pink boxes that I'm assuming are missing textures.

I tried to verify my game, reinstall, deactivate the 4k texture pack but nothing works.

Has anyone else encountered something like this before?

I'm posting here because couldn't figure out how to open a ticket with CDPR and can't find any other info online.

Discussion Pre-BC Discussion

I'm shamelessly bored before the BC, and so I'm curious who you think is going to win the various tug of wars that we have going on.

For me, I think that Danny is winning Helge
I think that SL is winning Kolgrim (I hope I'm right)
I think that Ofiri/Qcento is winning Shani
and I think that CN is winning Gimpy Gerwin (I hope I'm wrong).

Any others I missed? I know people were debating Arbalests, but I don't think that was an official tug of war with 2+ coalitions competing for different changes

Video Double Gedyneith

This is a funny meme deck utilizing the Compass ability twice — it's absolutely OP when it works out, but needs a good amount of luck.

The game plan is to discard 10 cards across rounds 1 and 2, then use the Compass ability to play "In Gedyneith's Shadow" twice. We have enough discard in the deck to achieve this. You can also replay Skald using Freya's Blessing for extra discard value. Sometimes you can play other cards instead of Shadow if needed.

DECK: https://www.playgwent.com/en/decks/guides/407625

Thanks and good luck.
