OTHER Help with Thai cigarette case

Hi , I recently adquired this Thai cigarette case and it is not in the best condition.
I am afraid I am not familiar with Thai silver . I think it is XX mid century. It has 3 marking inside: Made in Siam, Sterling and Yong Lee Chang and some Thai engraving in the back. I understand the last is the maker and it is sterling silver. I would appreciate any info . Thanks

It's a ring that appears to say 900? but sure feels and looks like silver. It doesn't feel heavy enough to pass as platinum.

JEWELRY & WATCHES Blurry Hallmark on a found ring

Hi all,

I try my luck here since I can't find no hallmarks like this despite all the internet research I did, and before I visit a jeweller.

I found this ring 3years ago, didn't even know if it's gold or not but these past few days I learned about hallmarks and discover it have one, I know the picture is really crap and blurry but maybe some living encyclopedias here can recognize it. (Pic1-2)

Also find another earring last week and see a tiny 750 engraved, this one is simple I made my research but I add it for maybe having a confirmation of it being 18k gold earring I found. (Pic 3)

I tend to find a lot of things, but these two may be my luckiest!

Thanks y'all, have a good day.

Hello! Looking for some help figuring out where this family ring came from. My grandfather (Californian) served in WWII overseas leading me to think that it’s British?

Any help is appreciated!

OTHER New photos: walking stick cap

I was able to gently wiggle the top off, and lightly clean it, and get some better photos. the inside is another metal, im not sure what, but it’s got a silvery tone to it, and slightly matte. I would immediately jump to Gold filled, but it acid tests (fairly deep scratch) as 14k gold, which is confusing. What also confuses me, is there is a spot around the top with a hard To see, but complete line around it, in the scrollwork around the engraving. The top tests as 14k too. I’m not sure if it’s possible that just the top piece is solid gold? I’m really unsure.

any ideas help.

its stamped 2, simmons bros crest, and then 49 A.

JEWELRY & WATCHES Silver pocket watch help with year stamp

Thumbnail

Hi everyone, I recently found the hallmark tool at antiquejewellers looking to date my wedding ring. Since then I've been digging out other old things to see if I can figure out the hallmarks on them too!

I've just been looking at this watch and I have a question about the letter date, the E has several similar versions for the stamp and I originally settled on the 1823/24 being most similar with its sharp corners on the corners and visible "stalk" on the middle bar. But the case also has an actual date stamped 1893. The next E of this style stamp is 88/89 which I feel is maybe more appropriate for the look of the watch face (just my generalised interpretation of how old it seems). So did they get it assayed but not sell it for a couple of years? What is the purpose of the secondary year stamp?

Also, I notice the fob mount has a different maker mark to the watch case, is that just part of how watches were made?

Thanks all!

Found this very nice bowl a couple of weeks ago at a thrift, and think I made the find of a lifetime. It certainly has an 830 stamp, but I do not recognize the crown or letter stamps. Does anyone have any info on those? It weighs approx 700 grams.

SERVINGWARE Strange “Cartier”-like hallmark

Looking for some info on this hallmark, as I had luck with another hallmark on the subreddit earlier today :) This tea/coffee pot, which I’ve had on a shelf for years has the three tower stamp, but I don’t recognize the intercrossed stamp with the two C’s and Google Lens doesn’t give me anything. Does anyone have any information on this? It looks a bit like the classic Cartier logo, but I don’t believe they made stuff with only the logo as stamp? :)

I'm trying to remember where I got that silver ring from. A reverse search came with Walmart Mexico but pretty sure I didn't get it from there.

Does this Hallmark ring any bells? Looks like •11• but I'm not so sure.

Do these hallmarks look genuin to you? 1784 london sterling?! I have the chance to buy a nice berry spoon with these marks and want to be sure that it is genuin. Can these hallmarks be faked?
