Non-fictional I HATE these "gotcha arguments"

Post image

"Ohhh, look how I tricked this dumb dumb baby in my trap so now I am right and they are wrong. I'm so smaaart even though it does not adress the actual argument and adds nothing to the debate. They teach arabic numerals in school btw."

And these type of comments always get tons of likes

These posts are really embarrassing lately. The lack of self awareness is distressing. The only reason to have such strong feelings about this is because you get proven wrong, a lot, and publicly. Try researching the topic before engaging.

I don't care about abortion nor have I ever engaged in a debate about it. But I like watching debates online. And whenever I see one of these stupid arguments I get mad. It adds nothing, it proves nothing, yet everyone acts like it's a 1000 iq move.

The reason I used this image was because I just saw it on reddit, got mad, and used it in this post. Was too lazy to search for another image.

Are you sure you don’t care?

I don't think you understand how you undermined your entire argument, and I'm here for it.

When your narrow minded world view is projected onto all of socialism.

Making abortion available to the working class seems to make a lot of sense to me.

Oh damn this guys doesn’t understand socialism at all does he?

I use abortion as an example. I ask them why socialists make abortion a main point, when it just creates much debate among the working class. I'm not socialist and I was not trying to make them pro-life.

find another example, abortion stirs debate across the board and working class folks are the ones most affected by restrictions and bans.

or, better yet, try visiting the nonfiction politics, history, or sociology sections of your local library and doing some silent reading. you'll get much better information that way instead of begging the question to a bunch of internet strangers

You cared enough to post about it, comment about it, and defend your thoughts on it.

You care. A LOT.

Not about abortion itself, about those type of fallacy arguments

Theres no point in engaging with these people. They already decided they dont like you because the assume you're conservative. Anything you say is just going to get down voted by these fools

I don't know if they're conservative or not. It's pretty likely, considering the conservative talking points, but it's pretty irrelevant. I don't like them because they're arguing for the right to control another person's body. I think most of us are pretty anti slavery and pro bodily autonomy.

Where in their post did they say they're anti abortion? Can you show me? All they said was they hate this type of gotcha trick in a debate/argument

Buzz off. They chose this example for a reason. We're not stupid.

Being dishonest and tricking people being bad and not being a good arguement does not require string feelings nor to proven wrong.

Try thinking is good faith before engaging.
