Looking for a country doctor’s hat that looks straight out of the 1940s to build sense of familiarity and “old fashioned country doctor” branding to break down walls for older rural patients. Not a doctor yet but starting the path.

🤠 Hat Advice The Bogart by Borsalino Cut 7

Tried out the beautiful “The Bogart Cut 7” fur felt fedora by Borsalino. I love the hat but I don’t think it suits me.

before I return/ exchange:

TLDR:
-What do you think about this hat?
-How does it look on me?
-Does it suit me?
-Would a different crown shape suit me better?
-Would a smaller brim width suit me better?
-What fedora colors would suit me?

The vintage inspired high crown height is 12cm (~4 3/4”) which I think looks too tall/high. I am not really liking the shape of the crown as well, I wish it came more pinched like the Borsalino hats Humphrey Bogart actually wore. I suppose it could be reshaped or pinched over time by hand.

The brim width is supposed to be 6.5cm (~2 1/2 inches) all around but measures from 6.5cm up to 7cm (~2 3/4) in some curves of the brim width. Strangely inconsistent from Borsalino especially with the ridiculously overpriced premium $725 MSRP for this special edition hat (I did not pay anywhere near that much). It should be beaver fur felt for that price and the brim should be an even width all around.

I think I might prefer a 2 3/8 brim width.

Also, I love the color, but I dont think it suits me either. I would like to try the Gray color (The Bogart Cut 1) with the wider ribbon, but it has the same dimensions and I think the high crown is not for me. I want a navy blue fedora as well.

I love the film reel-inspired ribbon hatband and that’s one of the main reasons I wanted to try this hat out. The little squares appear to be possibly lasered out of the ribbon so I thought that was pretty cool. I dont think any other fedora comes with a ribbon like this unless its done custom.

The box it comes with is really nice and sturdy.

maybe a clean shave would help.

❓ Question Need a little help

I got this hat about 35 to 40 years ago in NOLA. Lost track of it over 20 years ago. Have moved several times since then. I found it last week stuffed in a box of some other hats in my attic. It was wrapped in a plastic dry cleaning bag. Is there anyway to restore it or at least get the wrinkles out. Thanks

🕵️‍♂️ ID or In Search Of Hey everyone, picked up this heavy-duty vintage wide-brim hat in Europe and I'm looking for some insights from the experts here.

Details:
Dimensions: Extra-large wide brim measuring roughly 37 cm x 40 cm.
Interior: Features a full black suede/leather inner sweatband lining.
Construction: Fitted with a heavy organic leather cord system secured with multiple hand-tied knots directly through the felt.
Condition: Completely unbranded with no tags. In hand, the felt has a deep, naturally crackled weather-beaten texture and an authentic aged smell.
Does anyone recognize this style of regional workwear, or could this be an older custom-made piece? Any thoughts on its origin would be greatly appreciated!

❓ Question Crease In Hat

I received the trucker hat in the mail. The carrier bent the package up to fit in the mailbox and doing so put this hard crease in the hat. Is there any way to fix this?

Hi, I’m looking for a store or website where I can get a ballcap (preferably stretch fit or adjustable, curved brim/visor; not a flat brim/“snapback”) with separate custom colors for the cap and the brim. Much appreciated.

I’m at the age of balding, so I started buying these melins and I’m hooked. Very comfortable and like the designs a lot. They’re cheaper than a hair transplant! Maybe a little too expensive but I’ll get my moneys worth.

🤠 Hat Advice Need help finding either the manufacturer of this hat

Not quite sure what flare to use here

I found this hat crunched into a ball in the bottom of a box and was able to get it back into decent shape over the last couple months. While working on removing the sweatband I found a tag that says I can buy a duplicate if I mention the code written on it, but I can't figure out what company made it because of how worn the text is (and the fact that my vision isn't so good).

I'm wondering if someone can help me find the maker so I can buy a new one. It matches my trench coat perfectly, but it's covered in moth damage so I don't really want to wear it in public you know? I'm going to try fixing them myself, but I need to buy a set of felting needles first.

Also, if anybody knows a decent restoration service in the Sacramento area a recommendation would be greatly appreciated. If they offer lessons that's even better because I would love to learn how to do this stuff myself

❓ Question Men hats (winter; traveler and similar) - EU

I'm trying to find men's hats, like traveler hats, in the EU that aren't wool since I'm allergic. I'm having a hard time finding them. Any ideas where I should look? Also, I need a small size (53-55 cm). Thanks!

❓ Question Is this something I can correct?

I purchased this hat today, and when I tried it on with the cardboard forms inside at the store it seemed great. I've since realized that it puckers/creases at the crown when I put it on. It doesn't seem to matter how I adjust the sizing.
