I know a lot of people will say The idol and Game of thrones season 8, and for good reason, but Entourage season 8 and Big love season 4 were really bad too!

Anyone have problems with this app? I’m on Sky glass and everything works perfectly except this app, no picture but audio, freezes , pixelated, have to keep restarting it. It’s not the network because I can watch any other channel without a problem

Que série incrível do começo ao fim. Comecei sem esperar muita coisa e terminei completamente apaixonado por esse universo e por esses personagens. Harold, John, Root, Shaw, Carter, Fusco, a Máquina… O que vai ser de mim? 😭

É muito raro uma série conseguir me prender e me fazer criar tanto carinho pelos personagens assim. E o mais absurdo é que ela só fica melhor e mais complexa com o tempo.

The first time we watch a show is often the biggest hurdle to overcome to determine whether its worth our time or not.

An yet, we can't truly grasp a feel for a show until half a series in, heck it can take a whole season before it clicks for us. EVERY HBO show has been like this for me or any show in general, then when it clicks that's when I truly start to appreciate it.

How many times have you felt this even from some of your favourite shows ever? Even masterpieces like The Sopranos, The Wire and Curb took me a good few episodes to truly appreciate for the greatness that it is.

I remember True Blood took me a few episodes then I found it captivating. Same with Deadwood, In Treatment, Entourage, Oz, Six feet under, FOTC, White Lotus. I'm only just appreciating Industry after half the 1st season in. I'm currently struggling with Euphoria and Leftovers after the 1st 2 eps.

A lot of these great shows are weird and very original which is a beautiful thing but it can take more time to warm to them as a result. I'd say half a season is the sweet spot where we begin to appreciate a show but the 2nd series is when it usually takes off. The 1st season often feels like the 'pilot' season where the writers are figuring things out if the show is going to be a hit or not.

On that basis, our feelings can be conflicted until 'that episode' where it somehow clicks. Unfortunately, many will have given up before that moment ever comes to fruition because we expect instant commandment of our attention and thus missing out on great shows as a result.

I have a MacBook air M4 , and I use airpods max headphones. Yet when I can't use my tv, the sound quality on HBO max and safari Is very compressed , going from terrible to mid. Why I pay and then I get a quality which is much worse than illegal torrent copies ?!?!

The video quality is not great either but I would say it's acceptable but the sound quality is often bad . I know there can me legal reasons but I find a joke that you can have a very good PC , a very good screen and headphones, expensive too, yet quality is going to be shit because you're not on a TV. They don't even provide an official app . I don't know if other browsers work differently but I use safari which should be one of the best for MacOS , yet the quality is very mid.

Apple tv app on MacOS or even Netflix on safari usually has much more sound quality and dynamic range so HBO max could definetely improve their service

I just watched The Mortician at a friend's house and was telling my mum about it. I dont have HBO to show her but I cant find any videos of the ending where he admits to the murd*rs without actually saying it. But I can only find a 26sec video of a quarter of the conversation😭 its not even a full episode, I just wanna show mum the ending where he randomly talks about 3 things that cant come back and get him. Why is that to much to ask for without having to make a account with HBO😭

As the title says most movies (I haven’t really check series) don’t have the option to use English subtitles anymore, I know this has to be a new thing because I’ve been watching HBO for years and I always had the English subtitles on for any English spoken movie; this is really crappy service, it’s a disgrace how HBO has lost it.

I hope everyone is enjoying their HBO as I have been unable to and its been incredibly frustrating. I am wondering if anyone else been plagued with this throughout the entirety of HoD and now through Lanterns.

At the end of June the night of ep 2 of the latest season of HoD I went to watch and was greeted with a please reauthorize your provider subscription message. Have done this a gazillion times so didn't think anything of it until I kept trying and just kept getting the same error message on multiple devices. Picture attached.

I reached out to support on July 2nd asking for aid after speaking to my provider and them mentioning that there was a backend tech update on their authentication and they were working with HBO to get it aligned. They mentioned that every streaming service had updated theirs no problem except HBO and NFL Network. I took the screenshot and showed HBO who made me go back and forth through troubleshooting steps but eventually gave me a 7 day trial so that I could watch next weeks shows. Fast forward through weeks and weeks of this. After 3 separate 7 days trials that have come and go, HBO still has not fixed this issue. Another week is going to go by where I can't enjoy the Sunday 9pm slot. I reach back out 2x a week and now this is the second time they've closed the ticket and are making me start from scratch.

is anyone else dealing with this BS? trying to wonder why I'm paying for an app I cannot use consistenly for 2 months now.

We had nothing to do with the casting. Nobody asked us and nobody sent us a photo. The first time we saw him was on screen.

My father was an original Toccoa man, second man out the door behind Dick Winters on the Normandy jump, and the only man in the company who could draw. He carried a sketchpad through Normandy, Holland and Bastogne.

He died in December 1999, twenty months before it aired. He never knew he had been cast.

I'm sure most of us here have watched (and most likely enjoyed) The Wire from The Target all the way to -30-. And as a result, we've probably all developed our own hot takes about the show. So, what are some of yours, and why?

For example, my biggest one is that Season 5 is really a banger season, just like the rest of the show. It really doesn't deserve the disdain it gets from the fanbase. A lot of great plot points took place, like the sudden collapse of Marlo Stanfield's crew right after striking a deal with the Greeks and usurping Prop Joe, McNulty's fake homeless serial killer case actually working by getting the BPD to do actual police work, but also putting an end to his and Lester's storied careers, the office life at the Baltimore Sun, with Scott pulling backhanded tactics to boost the paper's viewerbase, Bubbles finally getting sober, Carcetti's run for Governor of Maryland, the attempted prosecution of Clay Davis, the New Day Co-Op managing to survive after Prop Joe's murder, even outlasting Marlo, despite his efforts to destroy them from the inside, and so on and so forth. And for the shortest season of the series, in terms of episode count, it's definitely a case of quality over quantity.

My only rational thought is that this individual was on his phone while watching, or his definition of "copaganda" is anything that doesn't completely denounce policing entirely....which is equally as stupid. Anyway what do you guys think

I still can't process what's going to happen with HBO. I find it hard to believe that the company with television's most valuable asset is on the verge of bankruptcy. The fact is, Warner Bros. Discovery executives made one of the most cynical and destructive decisions the industry has ever seen: trying to get rid of "Coyote vs. Acme" when the film was already 100% finished, with the sole purpose of using it as a tax deduction.

Basically, they considered the work of artists, writers, and technicians to be worth more dead than alive on a balance sheet. But the film survived that corporate purge and will soon be released. This is our opportunity to send them a powerful message. We must demonstrate that film and animation are not simply tax tools to plug the financial holes of bad executives.

Imagine the humiliation of seeing the project they labeled an "irrecoverable financial loss" become a massive phenomenon. Imagine the success of Coyote vs. Acme serving as a permanent reminder of their ineptitude. Please note that Warner Bros. Discovery will not see a single dollar from this film's box office.

September 1 Brings A Huge Horror Movie Collection

Anyone already preparing for Halloween will have plenty to choose from beginning September 1.

HBO Max is adding a large collection of horror and thriller titles including Brian De Palma’s Carrie, Final Destination, Final Destination 2, The Final Destination, Gremlins, Gremlins 2: The New Batch, Misery, Interview with the Vampire, The Craft and Blumhouse’s Truth or Dare.

A24 fans also get Pearl, MaXXXine and Talk to Me.

Other major additions include A Clockwork Orange, Full Metal Jacket, Eyes Wide Shut, Magnolia, Rain Man, The Revenant, The Last Samurai, Speed, Mission: Impossible, War of the Worlds, Zombieland and Zombieland: Double Tap.
