Theatrical/Acting Hair cut short for a show, headshots no longer match

Hey all, I've run into this before and always get kind of in my head about it, and I'm wondering how you all handle it.

I had to cut my hair and grow a mustache for a show I'm doing, and I have a couple of auditions coming up in the next two weeks. And when I say cut my hair, think going from full hobbit-hair to clean-cut office guy look. I have some shots with short hair, but they're 5+ years old at this point-- my shots with my longer hair are about 6 months old. In addition, I don't have facial hair in any of my shots.

How do you all handle this? Try to rush getting some new shots? Just explain in the room? I know it's maybe not the biggest of deals, but like I said above, I always get in my head about not looking like my headshot, and I'd prefer to not have it on my mind.

BTW the auditions are EPA appointments I've signed up for, so I don't have a direct line to the CD or producers to give them any kind of heads up.

Theatrical/Acting Any professional headshot recommendations in Austin Texas?

(I also posted this on another subreddit but would also like to post it here too just to make sure)

Hello! Would love to ask anyone if there are any professional headshot photographers that are really recommended in Austin Texas?

Preferably something that would fit my budget as a college student for now but I don’t mind at the same time spend a bit more on it since I would like to get one to start my acting career which is what I need for a start!

Theatrical/Acting Headshot and Hair Length

Hey y’all I’m sorry if this comes off as a stupid question but I just got my hair cut today and it’s significantly shorter. I had quite long hair before, but now it’s around medium length (like still past my shoulders though). My hair is the same style, but shorter. I’m getting my headshots done soon, and I’m thinking of submitting them to an agency. If my hair grows out in the future, and I look different, will I need to replace my headshots soon? Or will they just see how I look in the audition and judge based off of that? I’m in the Vancouver market if that is of any help. Thank you so much!

Theatrical/Acting New actor with a very specific look which headshots work best?

I’m pretty new to acting and trying to get my headshots/profile together.
I have a pretty specific look… bald, muscular and heavily tattooed including my head and neck.
Which of these would you actually use for casting? And what type/roles do you see when you look at them?
Be honest lol. I’m trying to figure out which ones help me and which ones I should get rid of.

Theatrical/Acting Need novice headshot session advice

I’m getting my headshots done later in the week and I wanted to get advice about how to get the most out of my session. I am in NYC and am looking to position myself for plays and film/TV work (ideally lead or supporting in the late thirties-early forties age range but am not limited to that scope alone). I might use them for commercial work but that is not the main reason I’m getting them.

What advice can anyone here provide to get the most out of them? Specifically, what has worked best for others with headshots / slate shots? What absolutely did not work and why?

What advice would you offer to ensure I am on the same page as the photographer and makeup artist based on your own experience with headshots? Also, what advice would you offer when it comes to clothing selection? I want to ensure each look and corresponding outfit I use is complimentary and not distracting. Moreover, I’d like to ensure these headshots can be used for at least 1-2 years while not being told I need new ones after paying for these. Thank you so much!

Photographer BMT Dress Blues Photo??

Does anyone know how to retrieve a photo from their time in basic training. Looking to get my dress blues head shot photo. A family member lost the only photo I had. It was the negative that was given to me. They promised that they could turn into photo copies. Now it’s lost!!! Thanks for any assistance.

Professional/Industry Background Removal

Any recommendations for background removal services? I have one person from an office shoot that has hair like Merida from Disney's "Brave" movie and I'm at my skill limit for getting a clean background removal. They want to have a version of the headshots as PNGs with transparent backgrounds for a couple of projects along with the normal one. Help!!

Theatrical/Acting My agent chose my headshots and I’m not sure they represent the range we discussed, is it okay to ask why?

I’m a newer actor, and the package I purchased only includes five final photos, so I really want to make sure I’m choosing images that represent me well. Before the shoot, I had talked with my agent and we both agreed that we wanted the photos to demonstrate a range of characters/types. She gave me some feedback afterward about which photos stood out to her, but they all seem to communicate a fairly similar type to me, and one that reads considerably younger than my actual age.

I also have to be honest I feel like I don’t look my best in some of the photos she selected, which makes me hesitant to use them as my primary headshots.

Would it be reasonable to ask her what specifically stood out to her about these choices, without coming across as disrespecting her professional judgment? I don't want to second guess my agent, but I also don't want to spend this much and end up with photos that don't represent the range of roles I can play.

Would love to hear how other actors would approach this.

Taken on the Gfx-50r, he is a fairly well known local skateboarder and barista. He wanted some professional yet fun photos done. Part of a larger set more focused on fashion/traditional portraits. This will be used for social media.

Theatrical/Acting are these headshots good?

these are the headshots i’m planning to submit! i’d love your honest, very picky first impression. when you look at these photos, what kinds of roles would you immediately want to cast me in? do they show enough range for a casting agency?

also, are these headshots genuinely strong enough to submit? please point out anything you would change or improve, including expressions, styling, hair/makeup, framing, lighting, or which shots i should keep or replace. i’d rather be overly critical now than submit something that isn’t casting-agency ready. thank you so much.
