Why does my Reddit account keep randomly changing?

Every time I come to Reddit, my account has randomly changed to a different name and I have no idea how to get it back to the original. It must be affecting my karma as it registers as a new account. What's going on?? It's not me doing it so how and why?

Sounds like you've accidentally created multiple new accounts which is very easy to do on accident.

I can't see how. I just open the reddit app on my phone and I'm certain I haven't created any new accounts 🤔

If you’ve closed and reopened the app after posting and before replying to me then everything seems to be working as expected. Instead of using the "Sign In with Google" feature or the Apple equivalent, you could just create a regular account to avoid those headaches in the future.
