They’re not. I know that spelling has entered common usage due to years of misuse, but it’s still a ridiculous spelling that originated solely because kids were too uneducated to understand what they were saying. The origin of the term is from “psyching someone out”. I was annoyed when people would spell it “Sike” even as a kid in the early 90s.
