Recommendation Request budapest hostels!!
hive vs one fam
hiya! i’m going solo in budapest for my bday (just been broken up with so trying to make the best of the time i booked off work lol)
i want to be able to do normal touristy things in the day but im desperate for a guaranteed group to party with on my bday!
i’ve reserved a spot at one fam for now but ive seen the hive party hostel and was wondering if that would be better due to the sheer amount of people that stay there?
i know one fam is more close knit, is it easy to make friends as a solo traveller at the hive too??

I stayed solo at the hive last year and it was an amazing time. So many fun activities and the staff make sure everyone is included and stuff. I recommend

thankyou so much!! not sure if you’ll be able to answer but i’m travelling solo as a woman, would you recommend staying in a women only dorm or would a large mixed dorm be safe? i’m just trying to maximise the chances of making friends ahaha

I traveled as a solo man so i’m sure our experience would be different. But there were several solo females there and I never saw or heard of any issues, i guess to answer your question it would depend on personal preference honestly. Whichever you’d feel comfortable with

No experience with Hive but I've been to OneFam Budapest twice, it's very social and there's tours during the day and drinking games at night. Plus the location is very central (close to the ruin bars) and the rooms are good.

Hellooo im a woman and im staying in hive ina couple of weeks - mixed dormitory! Can let you knew how it goes but read amazing things

Hive - If you want the extreme party experience
OneFam - If you want the relatively tame/well-rounded party experience
Stayed at OneFam twice. Heard many stories of those who stayed at Hive. All were wild stories

i’ve officially cancelled my one fam booking and booked at the hive in a female dorm to be safe.. hopefully it’ll be a birthday to remember 🙏🤣

I have booked one fam from 12-14 th September. Hoping to be a blast. Also this is my first solo trip ever

Currently at OneFam and it’s fantastic. Drinking games every night with the entire hostel hosted by the staff. Then they take us out to the bars after. The hostel is super social and very clean and in a great location.
