My wife is in Columbus, OH for work and attending a Columbus Clippers game. Apparently it’s “dime dog” night and I’m missing out. Even better than the 10¢ dogs is the merch! I want them all but will trust my wife to grab what she feels is appropriate for me

1/2 lb all beef hotdogs, spilt in half for the George Foreman grill. Top split brioche buns. French’s yellow mustard. Diced onions. Diced Grillo’s pickles (my first time trying them.). And a little extra mustard on top. Incredible!

Park view hot chicken sausage (sorry, but hot dog adjacent) kickle relish, bacon mayo, sharp and creamy mustard, motherly jack cheese.

Spicy homemade pickled dogs

1 with cream cheese caramelized onions and pickled Jalapeños

1 with sauerkraut and stone ground mustard

I guess it might be normal in NYC but in 2018 I went to New York. It was halloween night and I was being taken to a halloween parade and we stopped by a Starbucks to use the restroom I myself was fine and didn't need it so I got a snack since it looked like the restroom was busy and I had time while I waited for my friends. I went to a hot dog cart/truck and before I could say anything in a very heavy thick accent the cook asked "you are tourist?" I said yes and asked how he knew, instead of answering me he just said "you want hot dog? I make it special..." I was at a loss for words but noded in approval, not that I could say otherwise it seemed they made up their mind for me. So I waited a few mins and moved aside. A few minutes later he gave me a bun with a hot dog cut vertically along the hotdogs and made flat. I looked at him like "what is this" but he said nothing and provided me no other ingredients. I think he was messing with me since he clocked me as a tourist but the hot dog was slightly spicy. So maybe it was a joke? No idea. So tl;dr, was clocked as a tourist and given a plain spicy hot dog at night.

nothing better than a ball park dog

we live in suburban ny,rather close to nyc. once in a while we like to make Chicago style hot dogs. the question is, why do I have to order the poppy seed buns from Vienna beef and have them shipped. Myself ,three adult kids,two of their spouses and my wife have looked high and low and can’t find them locally in any store . are they truly only available in Chicago or the Midwest ?
