Now they never turn on for long time. I now care. I’ve tried everything the internet has thrown at me. Would love some new suggestions, thank you for your time.

I recognised the hall sensor issue on my PC. (Screen/keyboard flickers. When in discord call it disconnects, I still hear the game but it happens)

Is it really safe to disconnect it?

Should I unplug the battery as I do it?

Is there any chance I'll have an issue if I do that? (I saw something about getting locked out??)

I can't afford life rn lmao so not a new laptop. (Omen 16) I would like help!!

Tech Support Hp Omen 16 no display after changing thermal paste

Hi, I have an HP Omen 16-xf0061nf. After replacing the thermal paste, I’m no longer getting any display. The screen is completely black, even though I can hear the Windows startup sound, so the laptop appears to be booting normally.
I also don’t see the HP Omen logo when I turn the laptop on, so there is no display even during the initial boot/BIOS screen.
I’ve already tried disconnecting the battery and powering the laptop on with the charger connected, but the issue remains.
Could this be related to something I may have damaged or disconnected while replacing the thermal paste?

Tech Support OMEN Gaming Hub says GPU is inactive?

My OMEN Gaming hub is telling me that my GPU is inactive but I know that it is running. I am on a Desktop Computer and this only started happening after I updated the application.

Any help would be greatly appreciated because I want to be able to see the heat of my GPU and CPU on the motherboard display in my computer so I can keep an eye on things while playing games.

Tech Support HP Panicked: Full Motherboard Swapped and Shipped in 4 Hours to Dodge Consumer Law, The Deathmatch Begins. They Rushed Motherboard & Panel Swap Shipped Out in 4 Hours The Final OMEN MAX 16 Test Begins after I recieve the laptop.

Post image

The cover-up is officially over, and the clock panic clearly set in.

After HP support insisted for weeks that my thermal black screen was strictly an "isolated raw LCD panel defect," their depot received both the display assembly and a complete discrete motherboard (SPS-MB DSCPHN22X68GBfGSync ARL7HX WIN) on Friday.

Fast forward to Monday morning: by 1:36 PM, the portal shifted straight to "KARGO DEPARTMANINA ÇIKIŞ" (Dispatched to Shipping).

They did a full tear-down, discrete Arrow Lake / RTX 50-series motherboard swap, display bezel re-assembly, DMI/serial injection, and "quality control" in roughly 3 to 4 hours flat. Let us be entirely realistic about what that means: there was zero sustained thermal saturation testing. They slapped fresh paste on the dies, saw the Windows desktop post, and rushed it to outbound logistics to beat the statutory 20-business-day deadline expiring on September 7.

The machine is now inbound to my desk.

The moment that seal breaks on camera, it is going directly into an unthrottled 30-minute combined FurMark and Cinebench loop with HWiNFO64 logging every sensor trace. We will see immediately whether this replacement board can actually endure the 85°C rear exhaust blast without tripping the Hall sensor logic, or if this rushed patch job collapses under real load.

Full stress-test telemetry and teardown observations dropping the second it hits the bench. Stay tuned.

Ultra 7 255 H

I want to use this laptop for long term like for at least next 5 years. This is my first owned laptop + it’s gaming.

What are the things which I need to take care of so that it’s thermal, processor everything should be in good condition like a MAC even after 5 years you barley find any difference.

Any specific settings need to make.

FYI I have already reinstalled the OS and uninstalled unnecessary apps including antivirus.

I work on laptop day and night few days back didn’t shutdown/restarted it for few days ine day when I was at log in screen it literally got stucked I had to force shutdown it.

I keep total 80 tabs open in combined chrome and edge (I close browser when not required)
Claude
VS Code
Teams
Notes
VMware
Text

And it get’s hot like anything also at the time of playing FC GPU is using 97% I trued few settings but I think problem is with EA

Any settings and ideas to keep it cool and don’t break it

Discussion Thinking of buying HP OmniBook 7 (Ultra 5 225H) — how worried should I be about the OLED and soldered RAM?

Thumbnail vijaysales.com
2 Upvotes

Hey guys, I’m thinking of buying the HP OmniBook 7 14 and wanted to get some opinions from people who actually own/use it.

The configuration I’m looking at is:

- Intel Core Ultra 5 225H

- Intel Arc 130T iGPU

- 16GB RAM (soldered)

- 1TB SSD

- 14" 3K 2880×1800 OLED

- 120Hz

- Around 1.4kg

- 68Wh battery

The laptop itself looks really good for the price, but I’m mainly concerned about long-term reliability, since I’m hoping to keep it for many years.

My biggest concern is the OLED. I know OLED can degrade/burn in over time, especially with lots of static content. If the OLED gets damaged or develops serious burn-in after several years, the replacement screen could apparently cost a pretty significant amount compared to the laptop itself.

So I wanted to know:

If the OLED eventually fails, can an HP service centre replace it with an IPS/LCD panel instead?

I saw that the same OmniBook 7 14-fr0xxx family apparently has LCD configurations as well, so I'm wondering whether HP service centres can actually do an OLED → LCD/IPS conversion, or whether I'd have to take it to a local repair shop and find a compatible panel/cable myself.

My other concern is the soldered 16GB RAM. I'm okay with 16GB and don't necessarily need an upgrade, but my concern is what happens if the RAM itself fails. From what I've read, because it's soldered, in many cases the service centre ends up replacing the entire motherboard, which can be ridiculously expensive — sometimes close to the price of buying another laptop.

So for anyone who owns this laptop or has experience with HP repairs:

  1. How reliable has the OmniBook 7 been so far?

  2. Any motherboard/RAM failure issues?

  3. Does HP replace the OLED separately?

  4. Can HP officially install an IPS/LCD instead of OLED?

  5. How much does the OLED replacement actually cost?

  6. If the soldered RAM fails, does HP replace the motherboard or can the RAM be repaired separately?

I'm mainly asking because I'm trying to decide whether this is a good laptop to keep for 8–10+ years, rather than upgrading every few years.

Would really appreciate experiences from OmniBook owners, especially anyone who's had to get the display or motherboard repaired.

Rant Lied to about repair—not sure what to do

I’ve had several issues with HP and their repair team since I had to send my Omen Max 16 in. For reference, I’m in Canada.

My backlight stopped working on July 28 with 2 days left in my warranty, so I got a repair case started the same day. I informed them that I needed my laptop back within a month at the very most, as I was moving early September to go back to uni. Even disregarding the moving, I’d need it back by Sept 7 as this laptop functioned as my school laptop as well. I was told it’d take 8-10 business days, but knew realistically that I would have to give them maybe another 2 weeks.

Well, it’s been 5 weeks now, and I’ve been lied to about the status of my repair and when I’d receive it multiple times now, and no clarification has helped.

First of all, support is absolutely atrocious. I’ve had to call 2-3 times for each issue to finally get through to someone to talk to, with the failed attempts ending up in being on hold for HOURS. The longest I stayed on hold was 3 hours, since I had nothing better to do, before hanging up.

Second, it took them a full week to finally send me the packaging to send my Omen in. And two phone calls. A full week of this repair was eaten up because they just didn’t send it in a timely manner.

And now, the lies. My repair was delayed due to needing parts (which I totally understand). I was told that the new date I would RECEIVE the laptop back was today, August 31. That didn’t give a lot of extra time if something else went wrong, so I called on the 17th asking if, once the parts were received, the repair and shipping could be expedited. That agent told me that August 31 didn’t seem right at all, and that it’d be likely to arrive beforehand. I wouldn’t say this was necessarily a lie, but considering I ended up with 3 different answers about what August 31 meant, it was definitely misleading. After no further updates, I called again twice on the 21st. One agent told me that August 31 was actually the day the parts would arrive in the repair studio. The second agent told me that no, the parts had arrived earlier on that day, and that I would most likely receive my laptop by the 31st.

Well, Friday the 28th comes along, and I’ve received no shipping information or tracking number. Expecting a delivery on the following Monday, and that repair uses 2-day delivery, I called in. The agent I spoke to assured me that I would receive my laptop on the 31st. He specifically told me that everything was in line for me to receive it. But still, over the weekend, no tracking number.

I call again this morning. When I get through, I’m told that no, the parts hadn’t arrived on the 21st like I was told, but were instead arriving today. I hadn’t received ANY other email about further delays. When I asked if it was possible for the process to be expedited once the parts were delivered, I was basically told that that wasn’t possible and that there was no way to give me an estimated shipping OR delivery date.

Again. I’m moving at the end of this week. In a week’s time, I NEED my laptop for school.

I’m so incredibly frustrated by how I’ve been continuously mislead about the status of my laptop and repair and when it’d arrive. The agent I spoke to today said an escalation had been started, but I can’t wait another 1-2 days to hear back, especially when I haven’t been given a proper estimate for when I might receive it so I can’t know if I need to reroute it or not.

I just wanted to rant. I spent so much money on this laptop just for this absolutely abysmal support to be given when it breaks. I’m not even sure what steps to take next, but I’m very close to filing a consumer complaint. I’m not sure I even want to attempt calling again.

Tech Support Need help turning off Virtualization Technology in BIOS on HP OMEN 16 for PUBG

Hey everyone,

I need help disabling Virtualization Technology (VT-x / AMD-V / SVM) on my HP OMEN 16 for PUBG / anti-cheat troubleshooting, but the settings aren't sticking or I can't find the exact toggle.

I've already tried several general troubleshooting steps from ChatGPT, including:

Entering the HP BIOS menu (via F10 / Esc) and checking the Configuration / Advanced tabs.

Turning off Virtualization-Based Security (VBS) and Core Isolation in Windows Security.

Disabling Hyper-V and Windows Hypervisor Platform features via Turn Windows features on or off.

Despite this, either the setting doesn't appear properly in the OMEN BIOS or Windows still detects virtualization as active.

For anyone using an HP OMEN 16, what is the exact BIOS menu path to disable Virtualization Technology completely, and is there any specific OMEN/HP utility overriding it?

Thanks in advance!

Hey, I wanted to share my upgrade that I just finished! I switched out the hp motherboard to a asus tuf gaming b760m-plus WiFi 2, so my cpu isn't power limited anymore, I have the i7 14700f. Also got myself the thermalright frozen infinity 240 aio. Haven't tested it yet but its my first upgrade of a pc that I did myself, upgraded it for about 200€, I got the pc two years ago for about parts price. I also still have some rgb cable covers, but they will follow soon. Btw gpu is the 4070tisuper, if you have any questions feel free to ask :)

Btw I also got myself the thermalright contactframe for the socket lga 1700 and asus just decided to revision the socket and now the contact frame doesnt fit anymore, evenso its the same socket. Maybe this can save someone from doing the same mistake of buying the contactframe for this motherboard 🤣

FYI: I just posted this in r/pcbuild but couldn't repost it here.
