Mario Bailey had the ability to create an explosive play every time he touched the football playing Wide Receiver for the Dawgs in the late 80s and early 90s. Mario earned Consensus All-American, First-Team All-Pac-10 and Pac-10 Co-Offensive Player of the Year honors in 1991.

Washington Huskies head coach Jedd Fisch confirmed in a Monday news conference that, at least for the Apple Cup, Carr, Jayden Limar and Trey Cooley will all get significant reps and it will be a by-committee approach.

These three non-conference games should be wins, and anything less than that would be a profound disappointment.

vs Minnesota - WIN

The Golden Gophers finished 7-0 at home and 0-5 on the road, and we play them at home. They also lost their best defensive player, Koi Perich, to Oregon (boo).

@ USC - WIN (close)

The Trojans had the wheels fall off the bus defensively in the 4th quarter week 0 vs SJSU, and while that was a tune up game, Demond Williams has proven he can gash shaky defenses on the ground and through the air while our defense should be able to limit the Trojans offense. Also, even though we play on the road, the Trojan fans probably won't show up /j

vs Iowa - WIN (close)

The Hawkeyes always have a stout defense, which is something that has historically troubled Fisch teams, and this Husky team has a clear weakness on paper at skill positions on the offensive side of the ball. Obviously, this could change and there's a ton of upside there, and I think the Huskies should be able to have solid starters by this point in the season. The Hawkeyes also have a massive question mark at Quaterback and the Huskies have the advantage of facing them in Seattle, which is a huge boost, so I see them being able to take down Iowa.

@ Purdue - WIN

The Huskies should have no trouble against the bottom-feeders of the Big 10, no matter how much their AD wants to slander Indiana.

@ Nebraska - LOSS (Close)

I think the Huskies will drop their first game of the year on the road at Nebraska. The Huskies under Fisch have traditionally struggled on the road at home and Nebraska, despite recent mediocrity, is still home to one of the longest sell out streaks.

vs Penn St. - WIN

The Nittany Lions will be in a rebuilding year, trying to mesh a mediocre team from last year with a mediocre Iowa State team under Coach Campbell. While I think Campbell is a good coach and the Nittany Lions will be a dangerous team in the future, I think the Huskies should be able to beat them at home.

@ Michigan State - WIN

I anticipate the Huskies should roll, even on the road, in East Lansing against an almost entirely new Michigan State team.

vs Indiana - WIN (close)

This is definitely my most ambitious prediction, but I think the Huskies will be able to take down the Hoosiers at home. While Indiana is still a formidable team with an excellent coach in Cignetti, losing Mendoza is a massive blow to their offense and I don't think they'll be close to the same kind of magic that landed them the 2025-26 national championship.

@ 0regon - LOSS

This is by far (unfortunately) the best team the Huskies will play. As much as I'd love a win over the Schmucks, it'll take a phenomenal game from the Huskies to take down their rivals on the road - though anything can happen in rivalry games!

Floor: 7-5. I can't see the Huskies finishing worse than this, and it would take embarrassing losses to teams like Minnesota, Michigan State, Utah State, or Purdue as well as losing out against the top teams on their schedule to push the Huskies this low.

Ceiling: 12-1. The Huskies are a wild card especially with the unknown that is their offensive skill position group, but if the pieces come together Year 3 under Jedd Fisch will be a massive success and a CFP berth.

Prediction: 10-2. I think the Huskies will have a dominant year under Fisch and contend for a CFP berth as an at-large entrance. Their weak non-conference schedule will push them back, but if teams such as Nebraska, USC, Indiana, 0regon, and Iowa are top-25 teams their SoS should be able to boost them into the field.

I just bought 2 tickets in sec 330 for $70 a piece on the secondary market. I originally wasn’t planning on going, but since the future of the series is up in the air, it’s an afternoon game and the seats were affordable I figured why not.

Jedd Fisch, Washington Huskies: Fisch is a coaching journeyman, making 11 college or NFL stops since 2008 and none for longer than three years. He enters his third season at Washington with a team that can build on last year's 9-4 mark and possibly return to the CFP. The 50-year-old has voiced a need for Washington to keep pace financially, especially given the spending of archrival Oregon and other Big Ten contenders. Florida and Michigan were both fits for Fisch but chose other candidates in the past cycle, so similar job opportunities likely would need to open to get him away from Seattle.

Sonny Sixkiller played Quarterback for the Huskies in the early 70s. Known for his mobility and competitive drive to will the Dawgs to victory he graduated from UW holding 15 School Records.

ESPN article lists the Dawgs redshirt freshman RB Quiad Carr as a potential breakout candidate. Who are yours?

In terms of highest impact on winning I'm hoping there's a big breakout from our WR room. Otherwise Dylan Robinson seems primed to be UW's next great CB.

Shaq Thompson was a Jack of All Trades for the Huskies in the early to mid 2010s. He played Corner, Linebacker, Safety and Running Back for the Dawgs. He earned First-Team All-American (‘14) and First-Team All-Pac-12 (‘14) and Second-Team Freshman All-American (‘12).

Napoleon Kaufman is considered by many to be the greatest Running Back in the history of the program. Running for the Dawgs he amassed three 1,000 yard seasons and earned First-Team All-Pac-10 (‘92, ‘93, ‘94), Third-Team All-American (‘93), Second-Team All-America (‘94), and Pac-10 Offensive Player of the Year (‘94) honors.

Some pals and I head to a random CFB game every year, and we're excited to come see Husky Stadium for the first time next weekend.

Since we're flying in, we don't have a parking pass or a full tailgate setup in tow, but we're friendly Midwesterners and fully intend to go all in on Husky Nation for a few days and take in UW's CFB atmosphere.

What's the tailgate situation look like? Where should we go and what's the likelihood we can "fall in" on a friendly tailgate with some beers and snacks?

Lawyer Milloy was an absolute thumper of a Safety for the Dawgs in the early to mid 90s. Known for his fearlessness, passion and intelligence he dominated the secondary. Lawyer earned unanimous All-American (‘95), the Jack Tatum Trophy (‘95) and First-Team All-Pac-10 (‘94, ‘95) honors as a Husky.

looking at the schedule, there's a few spots that may be turning points in the season. thoughts on these?:

Week 5 at USC - assuming we win the conference opener vs minnesota we'll head down to LA 4-0. usc has a week 0 game, so they'll have one more week of experience and fatigue/injuries. they'll be coming off a (likely) loss to oregon. could be a case of high confidence on our side vs a desperate/angry sc team. this will be tough on the road.

Week 6 vs Iowa - short week will feel shorter coming back from LA. Iowa sits preseason at 22. like usc, they'll be coming off a presumed loss to ohio state the week prior. difference here is we get them at home. depending on the team dynamic from the usc game, this could be a letdown game for us. careful here.

Week 7 at Purdue - coming off of two hard games, this has the potential to be our annual wtf game on the road. since it's a friday game it will likely garner a larger than warranted audience and because it leads into our bye week we'll have two weeks to feel like shit about it. absolutely need to lock in for this one.

Week 10 at Mich St - sandwiched between Penn St and Indiana home games. is this really a trap game?

This is hilarious. I love the rivalry, win or lose, but the fact they know the results and get butt hurt when we do a basic rivalry tactic (putting the band in the nosebleeds) cracks me up. Go Dawgs!

Jake Locker played Quarterback for the Dawgs in the late 2000’s. Montlake Jake earned Freshman All-American and Pac-10 Freshman of the Year honors in 2007. Jake is often credited with reviving UW after the NCAA sanctions following Rick Neuheisel’s gambling scandal.

There were quite a number of turnovers in this game, but fortunately the Defense was able to take care of business.

Marques Tuiasosopo was a dynamic Quarterback for the Dawgs at the turn of the millennium. A dual-threat Quarterback that was as deadly passing as his ability to run the option, Marques was the first player in NCAA college football history to pass for over 300 yards and run for over 200 yards in a game (vs. #25 Standford on October 30, 1999). His career culminated with a Rose Bowl win and Rose Bowl MVP honors in 2001. While playing for the Dawgs he earned Second-Team All-Pac-10 (‘99), First-Team All-Pac-10 and Pac-10 Offensive Player of the Year (‘00) honors.

Big 12/SEC/ACC competition at the Maui Invitational, Baylor at Climate Pledge Arena and more are included on the Huskies' slate. They'll play Boise State in Boise and Washington State in Seattle as their two exhibitions.
