I’ve had my iPhone 13 Pro Max for 5 years now. It has never let me down, and it’s probably the best phone I’ve ever owned.

That said, the battery is starting to give me trouble, and iOS 26 is the worst version of iOS Apple has released in a long time.

I’m torn between getting the battery replaced at an official service center or upgrading to the 18 Pro Max—mainly for the USB-C port and the general technological improvements made over the last five years.

Thanks to discussions here I finally decided to replace my battery on my 13ProMax. $89+ tax at Apple. It all went smoothly.

My old battery was reporting 81% but if I used it much at all I’d run out mid day so always needed to carry a battery to recharge. Sick of that and heard positive things from folk’s experience here vs upgrading.

Chit chatting with the Apple tech, he
speculated that Apple might continue to support the 13ProMax software for another 7 years. The new battery needs to be charged as they apparently ship below charge.

I asked about any special battery care or charging recommendations fir the new battery and the tech said we don’t need to do what we did years ago for the initial charge/ drain because the software on battery management is so good.

Curious if that’s what others were recommended. I ll report again after using it for a few days.

I purchased this phone around Dec 2021. Around Feb 2023, this iPhone suffered white screen flickering issues which manifested into full white screen of death. We took it to the nearby Reliance ResQ authorized service center and after diagnosis, was told the screen had to be replaced. Since I had just handed this phone down to my sister and I wasn't sure about 3P repair options, I forked about ~34K INR and got it replaced in March 2023.

Things worked fine for nearly 3.5 years and yesterday, that problem resurfaced, and is more frequently going between white/normal screens now and is probably going to lead to another white screen of death. While it's definitely been a long time since the original purchase and some might say even the repair, I am pretty frustrated given that I already paid a hefty amount to get this replaced once and the same issue is back again.

Seen some posts in this sub about the white screen of death, with some talking about getting free replacements. Planning to go down to the service center again to try and get them to escalate but wondering if anyone's going through something similar and if there's any advise.

Aside: Shit luck for me because my 14 Pro Max I had kept as a spare and was planning to hand off to my sis got a green line at the edge all of a sudden in the past day while we were getting it set up. Sigh.

I bought my iPhone 13 Pro Max on the 14th of June this year, it has been a little over two months of ownership and my battery health has dropped from 100% to 92%. I’m so disappointed and disheartened by this, how could it go down this fast? Is it the charger or is it the phone? Now I’m thinking of replacing it before it goes way down and completely ruins my screen time.

I usually don’t charge my phone to 100%, at most 92-95%. And I plug it in whenever it’s down to 30ish to 25%. Right now I get about six to seven and a half hours of screen-on time.

So that’s my situation, any advice from you guys would be very appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Hi everyone! I have a 128GB iPhone and it's basically completely full to the point where my phone gets laggy and i have to delete an app to download another one and then once i'm done using it i have to delete it again. It's just so frustrating.

For context, my biggest storage users are:
Photos: 41.85GB
WhatsApp: 10.17GB
Messages: 4.64GB
Spotify: 1.09GB
On My iPhone: 1.06GB
iOS: 11.84GB
System Data: 41.12GB

I’ve already deleted a huge chunk of my photos and backed them up to Google Photos, and I also have 200GB iCloud storage.

The phone itself works perfectly fine and I really don’t want to buy a new phone just because of storage. I’d rather keep it for another year or two, but if I have no choice then I would consider buying the iphone 18 when it comes out and max out on the storage.

I have also avoided updating my phone because I don't want it to get laggy because of the updates (this is what happened to my ipad) so I’m still on iOS 18.6.2, idk if that may be why my phone is struggling for storage.
I just need to free up enough space to use the phone without having to constantly worry about the storage. 😭. What would you recommend I delete/clear first? Is there anything else I should be doing to manage my storage?

I picked up a 17PM a few days ago and it’s definitely faster, maybe it’s just me but the 13PM feels special and the 17PM feels soulless. The aluminum is easy to dent/scratch so I immediately put it in a heavy duty case. I’m still trying to figure out all the camera settings but so far only a few pictures I’ve taken have looked a lot better than the 13PM. The video seems to be similar or slightly worse, selfie camera is definitely better. I still have my 13PM for now, the main reason I upgraded was to get more storage. Let me know your thoughts and if you tried a 17PM and decided it wasn’t for you.

Just curious to hear how everyone is feeling about their 13 Pro Max these days and what your current situation is.

Mine has been going strong since release day. The battery has been replaced once in nearly five years, and apart from that, it’s still in great condition with no scratches or other issues. Fun fact: it’s still running iOS 18.7.8.

Currently considering an upgrade to the 17 Pro Max, although waiting for the 18 Pro Max is also tempting.

So, what is everyone else thinking at the moment? Planning to keep the 13 Pro Max for a while longer, considering an upgrade, or simply seeing how things go?

I have an IPhone 13, system version 26.6.1, I’ve never download this, apparently it’s being used when I’m in school, yesterday it had a total screen time of 7 hours ,coincidentally around the same time my iPhone started acting strange, it would restart on its own, more specifically when it got under 15%, so when my phone lags too much, it has never done this before, I’ve told my dad about it, I’ve restarted my phone(by my own accord) and looked into this Ellydee app, according to Apple it’s some finance and ai app?? I feel like this is so obviously some type of malware or something like that, I’m not great with technology so any help would be appreciated.

Have had my iPhone 13 Pro Max for 4.5 years now and don’t wanna get a new one as there isn’t a huge difference IMO. Was gonna get my battery replaced by Apple as health is at 78% and barely lasts 6hrs if I’m using social media etc.

However, I recently dropped it and cracked the back glass. Apple want almost the price of a new phone to repair this and change the battery.

I went to a phone repair shop (not authorised reseller) who quoted me $350AUD to change the battery and back glass. Is it worth doing this? Is it ok to trust them? They had regular customers coming in for a chat when I asked them about price and someone at work has used them. I’m just so scared I’m gonna get it fixed and it’s gonna mess up my phone somehow.

I have an iPhone 13 Pro Max, and my screen suddenly turned completely solid white again. The phone itself is still working — I can receive notifications, it vibrates, and it seems to be running normally — but I can't see anything on the display.

The strange part is that this exact same issue already happened before and was repaired by a technician on June 16, 2026. I’m not exactly sure what the technician repaired/replaced, unfortunately. The repair only came with a 1-month warranty, and now, about two months later, the same issue has recurred.

I already tried doing a force restart, but the screen remains completely white.

Has anyone with an iPhone 13 Pro Max experienced this kind of white-screen issue that came back after being repaired?

• Was it the OLED/display itself?
• Was it a display connector/flex issue?
• Or did it turn out to be something on the logic board?
• If you had it repaired, did the issue eventually recur again?

I'd really appreciate hearing about your experience before I bring it back to a technician. I'm especially worried that I'll pay for another repair only for the same problem to happen again. 😭

Is there an app that reads all my messages?

I have the iPhone 13 pro max, I'm a late teen and my parents allegedly say that they have an app that can read all of my messages from their iPhones.

I was googling and apparently there technically isn't any app for the iPhone that can do that.

I'm not sure if they are using a outside app, built in app, or just trying to scare me. Does anyone know anything about this?

Hi all! My phone is constantly hot. I can barely use it while outside. The screen gets easily dimmed and sometimes even shuts down due to overheating. It is also super slow at times, and after 10 or 15 minutes of use indoors it also gets super hot. Wondering if anybody else is having similar issues. I’m at the point where I’m thinking of upgrading, just not sure if I should do it now to avoid the price hike or wait for the 18.

my iphone 13 pro max recently started to vibrate, show a blurry and shaky output, and have a distinct loud beep whenever i take videos in the telephoto mode and ultrawide camera. any solutions? or is the camera just buns now?

My iPhone 13 Pro Max stopped charging after an iOS update.

• When the phone is powered off, plugging in the charger makes it automatically turn on.
• But once it boots, there is no charging icon and the battery percentage doesn't increase.
• If the phone is already on, plugging/unplugging the charger causes no response at all — even with the screen off.
• The same charger charges my AirPods normally.

Could this be a software issue, or does it indicate a Lightning port/charging circuit hardware problem?

Any ideas?
