I got 2 iguanas 1 week ago, 1.1. One is 1 and the other is 2 years old. I can say they are rescued animals because they came to me with mites and very thin. I have 2 questions.
1: How and with what can I treat the mite problem. (I live in the European Union). I have experience with snakes and mites. We treated them with Frontline Spray. But I have no experience with lizards in this area… I thought I would ask before I do something stupid.
2: How can I fatten them up a bit? I am attaching 2 pictures.

Hello all! I'm from Trinidad and Tobago and there are a lot of iguanas around, including a family of three (I think) living in the tree next to my house. I see them up and about in the morning just for a little while, eating mangoes and digging + whatever else iguanas do. There's a really big guy that I find super friendly (doesn't run when I'm nearby, but won't let me touch him at all) and remind me of the other lizards living in the yard. I really want to offer him some food, but he's not a huge fan of my 10 chickens, and I kinda want to be a little more chill with him (maybe get a pat if possible). What's the best way for me to go about this? I don't want to scare bro, and unlike the neighbours who seem to want to put him on a plate, I just want to offer him a little something as there aren't really any mangoes on the trees anymore. Any advice?

I came across him about 6 months ago at a commercial pet store for dogs and cats. He was in a small tank in the back and I of course, went up to them and asked why they had a green iguana in the back. He was in one of those small maybe 24 x 18 fish tanks. They had told me that someone left him in a box outside of their store, and if I wanted to take him that the husband would come by the next day and put him in a box and give him to me. I currently own two bearded dragons, two ball pythons, a leopard gecko, a juvenile cuban rock iguana and my frilled lizard passed a couple weeks ago. That said, I have spent the majority of my life very passionate about reptiles, so I thought that him coming home with me was his best chance of survival. I was told that he was a male, but they had no idea how old he was. I was wondering what you guys think? I named him Damien. It is difficult to access his hind legs due to aggression (which they warned me about). His past must have been very unsocial. I handle him with falcon gloves. Eats a mix of collards and mustard greens. He is about 2.5 feet.

My green iguana went from being active to now just laying down and doing nothing. She has also lost her appetite. She is a 1 year old female(we are assuming she is a female). Before that she would eat regularly, lettuce with calcium sprinkled in. We are thinking that maybe her light needs to be changed out, we have been leaving her in the sun for light intake but now she jsut isn’t as active and doesn’t want to eat even in the sunlight. Any advice or recommendations would be greatly appreciated!!

Guys, I need help. My female iguana is shaking her head and moving it up and down. What could it be? It gets 6-7 hours of direct sun a day and eats arugula and other greens .

a lot of videos on YouTube just show pet iguanas running freely around people‘s small apartments. they don’t have any type of enclosure or terrarium for their adult pet iguana. And they seem happy and healthy.
can this be ? how big must a terrarium be? I don’t see why one would not have a cute iguana pet just because don’t have space or money for a room size enclosure.
