Hi everyone,
I’m planning to buy a cycle for commuting to my office. My office is around 10 km from home, so it would be roughly 20 km of cycling per day.
I weigh around 100 kg, and I’m looking for a cycle that can comfortably handle my weight and daily commute.
My main requirements are:
- Budget: preferably ₹15,000 or below, but I can stretch to ₹20,000–25,000 if there is a significant difference.
- Mainly for road/office commuting, not serious off-roading.
- My route has quite a few ups and downs, so I need something with gearing that makes climbing easier.
- I don't want something that requires too much effort because I’ll be going to work and don’t want to arrive completely sweaty.
- Comfortable and reliable for daily use.
- Suitable for Hyderabad roads, which can be rough in some places.
I’ve been looking at hybrid cycles such as the Decathlon Riverside 120, but I’m not sure which would be better for my requirements.
Would appreciate recommendations from people who have experience with similar weight, commute distance and Hyderabad conditions.
Which cycle would you recommend in the ₹15k, ₹20k and ₹25k ranges?
Also, what specifications should I specifically look for when choosing a cycle for this use case?
TL;DR: ~100 kg rider, 10 km one-way Hyderabad office commute, roads with climbs, want a comfortable low-effort cycle under ₹15k ideally (can stretch to ₹25k). What should I buy?
