World Map Ketsugen | Region Map

Post image
517 Upvotes

A depiction of the country of Ketsugen with East at the top. For my fantasy Japanese-inspired setting.

This is a new rendition of a setting I ran a 2-year campaign for that wrapped up in November last year, now I've got a party of Vikings travelling the world and this will be their next destination.

Text at the top more or less translates to "Map of the seven kingdoms and the Heavenly Mountain" and "Ketsugen" which roughly means "origin of blood"

Heavily inspired by 'Panoramic View of Two Ways to Climb Mt. Fuji' by Utagawa Sadahide.

World Map Map Tips

Post image

Long story short, I am making an island for this campaign I'm working on (think like Pangea). But I struggle with making the bodies of land look... natural. I find myself get several hours in and scrap my world because it feels too far gone.

Please, any tips are welcome, even rude ones lol

(Picture as an example of my latest failed attempt)

Battle Map Ancient Array — Ancient Arcane Research Facility (48x36)

Ancient Array — 48x36

An underground research facility and archive built by an ancient civilization that understood magical energies in ways that modern civilizations could barely comprehend. Arcane infrastructure has been combined with strange, almost biological technology, creating a place that feels very different from a traditional magical ruin.

If you'd like the full release, including the high-resolution map, gridless version, VTT-ready exports, and every variant, you can find it here:

https://www.patreon.com/dungeonmr/posts/ancient-array-167615511

The Array has been buried for centuries, with only a small tower-like structure remaining above ground. Inside, old lights still glow throughout the halls, while a cavern that has broken into the facility has developed an ecosystem of its own.

The complex still contains an old dormitory, an archive filled with shattered recording crystals, a strange device connected to somewhere deeper within the facility, and a containment area where experiments of unknown purpose were once conducted.

At the heart of the Array is the sensory tree. Still alive after centuries, its roots stretch far beyond the facility, allowing it to sense magical energies and other phenomena across an enormous distance.

I originally designed the Ancient Array for one of my own worlds, but I could easily see something like this working as a Netherese research site in the Forgotten Realms.

You can also browse the rest of my collection on Patreon. Everything is organized through the Master Index, making it easy to find the right map for your next adventure:

Thanks for taking a look, and safe travels.

Why Are My Old Maps Now Locked Behind Pro?

I was one of the original Kickstarter backers for Inkarnate i want to say it was 2019 or 18 and I'm pretty frustrated to put it lightly with what I've found after coming back to the service.

I backed Inkarnate when it was still getting started when only a few thousand of us were helping fund the project and there wasn't a recurring subscription model like there is today.

To be clear I have no problem with Inkarnate charging for NEW features assets tools and content that have been developed over the years. The developers have continued working on the program and I understand that continued development costs money.

My problem is with older functionality and maps that I already had access to.

(I backed this when i was still in highschool had alot of time to play i recently got out of the Millitary and thought hey, i should get back into map making for D&D for fun welp that aint happenin.)

I have maps I created around six years ago that I now can't properly use because they're locked behind the current Pro subscription. These aren't new maps made with new premium assets. They're my old work from when I was already using and supporting Inkarnate.

That's what I find incredibly frustrating.

I helped fund the creation of this service before anyone knew whether it would succeed. I don't expect every feature Inkarnate develops for the rest of time to be free for me but I do think original backers should retain access to the functionality and content they originally backed.

New content behind Pro? Completely understandable.

Taking something an early backer previously had access to and later putting it behind a recurring paywall? I don't think that's right.

I'd genuinely like to hear from anyone about this and yalls thoughts and I'm also curious whether other original Kickstarter backers have run into the same problem.

Were Kickstarter backers given any kind of legacy or grandfathered access? And if not why weren't original backers allowed to retain access to the features and maps they already had?

This is an older map of mine that I just reopened. The outline is like this all over the map. Does anyone know how to fix it?

map feedback

Hello everyone!

So i'm on track to DM my 2nd ever campaign and i've been trying my best to make a somewhat geographically realistic dnd map in a parchment style. when compared to how i made maps before i think it is night and day. but i was just hoping to get some opinions here before i bring it to the table for the 1st time.

So i'd love to know what you all think! feel free to be as honest as can be and if there are any things i correct that are mayorly incorrect i'd love to change it while i can!

Thanks alot in advance!
