Film problem or printer problem?

Post image

Hey yall! I have the Instax mini photo printer, and I’ve noticed lately the all the photos I’ve been printing with it have been much lighter and yellow toned. It almost looks faded and less contrast.

For example, the photo on the left was the first photo I printed with this and the one of the right is my most recent photo printed. Some images are worse (less contrast). I have the printer set in the app to the “rich color” and it still looks so different. Is it an issue with this particular pack of film, or should I be worried about the printer itself?

Did you adjust the photo between those two printings? Like increase contrast or the like? We’re both in rich color mode?

Nope, no change whatsoever. Exact same photo printed a few months apart

Interesting. I wonder if could be a temperature thing. I printed some this week and some looked like the one on the right. I know the film is sensitive to temperature.

I think the only way to know is to put a fresh pack of film in and see if you still have the same problem.

Yes this would be a good way to find out the reason.
