Yeah, I'd never thought about it before, but this is probably one of the worst places to be for an earthquake. Not a whole lot of door frames and other things you are normally adviced to get under during an earthquake.

Its not, its actually the least dangerous of indoors spaces since they are built with higher construction standards vs most of buildings

There's also a huge difference between some relatively lightweight ceiling material falling and the whole damn roof. Like, you're not guaranteed to not get brained with something falling, but it's a hell of a lot better than the whole roof collapsing on everyone

Considering it held up, yes. A properly designed building will move in an earthquake, so things will naturally fall.
