Yes. There was a guy a few months ago that bought a new pickup truck but a bird, the day before he went to pick it up, nested under the wheel well and laid eggs. So there his truck sits until they hatch and are able to leave. He reported that he's more amused by the situation than anything else.
I dunno what I would have done if my car was indisposed. That would require some thought and remediation, but everywhere else, it's a great feeling to help out.
I'm out in the desert and it's just very unforgiving for everything out here. I started with the cats because they were everywhere. Started a neutering campaign. Then dogs started showing up so I opened up the barn and set up a corner for wayward pups.
Then one day, we had a bad water leak that left a substantial puddle and omg the birds! So we put out fountains and that brought out nesting, so we'll go out there with chicken wire around wherever they decide to build, because there are no trees.
It's like a never ending chain. Flowers for the bees gives insects to the lizards. After like 12 years straight of just playing with my environment, it's like an oasis out here. It's so cool to just sit out there and realize I did all of it one little thing at a time, and its fun the entire time.
Feels a bit like time travel, though. Everything I change messes something else up, lol. Just taking care of the feral cats changed the entire dynamic. I didn't realize how predatory they can be unchecked.
There is an argument to be made that cats aren't really domesticated in the way that dogs are. We domesticated dogs through training, selective breeding, and etc. House cats kind of domesticated themselves.
