The implosion of the Titan submarine (OceanGate) was so rapid that the pain wasn't even registered by the brain. They didn't feel anything at all. Utterly instantaneous.

Sure, but the fun part was when they lost power and drifted without thrust or depth control for up to 40 minutes before the implosion. They might not have even been in a "comfortable" orientation...

And then there's the cracking. As the depth increased, the carbon fiber would be crackling like rice krispies prior to failure. There might even have been some decent "bangs."

So pain? No. Panic? Almost assuredly.

It’s okay, they didn’t. That was a previous hypothesis, but the crew didn’t think anything was out of the ordinary right up until the implosion. I still assume there were pops that would have scared the passengers, but Stockton had heard them before and assured the passengers it was normal on previous dives

lol that’s like saying “yeah my car always makes that intermittent banging noise while going down the highway, that’s normal.” …didn’t say it was good, but did say it was normal!

I believe I saw in the documentary that some people demanded there be redundancies for the key systems; the CEO guy said no, because it'd take time and money. Not having backup systems is just fucking madness.
