This is the largest sticker on my work laptop. People need to know where we can go to escape capitalism.

That would make a nice T-Shirt or Pin. Ist not to obvious, but Fans will recognize this.

u/Dizzy-Expression8868 11h ago

Indeed, but I wish I could find the original artist so as to link.

It will never not crack me up that of all people being in outlandish over the top rolls even Tim Curry couldn't get through this and this was likely the best take.

u/fleranon 12h ago

Someone wrote in recent days that it was the very first take and Curry had just read the words for the first time, followed by lots of 'serious' takes... Everyone agreed that the first one was the funniest

u/ryebread91 9h ago

I'm happy with either version.

He was adorable in that role.

What movie was it?

12

u/Jamesaliba 17h ago

The game red alert had cutscenes

Video game. Command and conquer red alert. Still holds up 30 some years later and the political commentary is still relevant (somehow)

u/Khelthuzaad 16h ago

Nah the plot was,is and remains absolutely bonkers with lots of gratification and hot women. The Allied campaign ends with us arresting the premier while he is in his underwear:))

Never take the plot seriously, well at least in Red Alert,Tiberium series tries to lean more towards a more serious approach but it has it's own campy moments.

4

u/Sir_Strumming 15h ago

Yea they are meant to be taken lightly. They wouldn't work as anything too serious. Imagine c&c generals taking itself seriously lol. But the stereotypes and subtle jabs are part of the fun.

2

u/Coveinant 14h ago

Specifically it is Command & Conquer Red Alert 3, with it and the expansion Uprising being the absolute best c&c games.

2

u/MorePhinsThyme 13h ago

I appreciate your correction...but no. RA1 and the OG are still the best (especially after the remaster).

Not a movie- a game. Red Alert 3.

The Command & Conquer series used live action cutscenes. In the early games they were low budget but an interesting change to rendered graphics. By the time of Red Alert 3, they were actually investing serious money.

Imagine Tim Curry, JK Simmons, and George Takei as the leaders of the USSR, US, and Japanese Empire each bringing their own flavour of ham.

I love how sped up you can clearly see how it’s taking EVERYTHING in him not to break as he delivers the line.

1

u/antdude 16h ago

He was in RA3 though.

edit: I Googled it now it was the dynamite dude lol, no idea wht I remember him with dog

9

u/Holy_Hendrix_Batman 18h ago

That's Red Alert 2, and putting bombs on attack dogs isn't an altogether terrible tactic...

2

u/UWO_Throw_Away 13h ago

Soviet psychically dominated giant squids that grapple enemy destroyers and cruisers, countered by Allied attack dolphins who shoot sonic booms at them. What a game!

4

u/Jacoolh 18h ago

I think he has a dog with him in one of the cut- scenes.

2

u/jseah 15h ago

I remember reading somewhere that she was meant to be part of a 2 woman unit. Tanya done all the shooting and the other was an IRA bomber. Which was the style at the time
