Will he have support on the PCT too? Some of those miles is a long ass water carry in the desert. 22 I think was the longest one. I did that at night though to help keep me from drinking all the water the first 10 miles

22 miles? Jesus, that is a LOOOOOOONG way without water. Is there the chance of an intermittent streams or anything, or do you just know it is going to be dry?

You know it's going to be dry. You just carry a bunch of water (6+ liters at times).
