The climb to Harihar Fort in India looks absolutely terrifying in heavy fog.

In heavy fog? It looks terrifying PERIOD

u/Candy6132 8h ago

Don't worry, they have safety flip-flops.

u/4mystuff 8h ago

The third climber in the video didn't activate the safety features on his flipflops. "No flipflop corporation can tell me what to do with mine own flipflops", he added.

Can't look down if you can't see down.

u/hurricane_news 8h ago

One fart from the person above and everyone falls down

u/Better_Carpet_7271 8h ago edited 7h ago

The fog hides the impending doom to either side tbh, this is definitely a better day for climbing it.

Exactly what I thought. It could be sunny and the birds singing happily and it would still be a huge nope for me.

u/realNoobnoob 7h ago

I would say even

COMMA

u/ShowmasterQMTHH 7h ago

They are wearing appropriate climbing footwear though. Tactical flipflops.

One wet foot slip and everyone is going down.

u/lefthanded4340 9h ago

Their flip flops aren’t even in sport mode!

u/ThomzGueg 9h ago

Dude, it's security flip flops

u/MysticGohan99 9h ago

It was nice to see them all with shoes at least!

The last video I watched was of a bus crash in India, everyone who came to check on the passengers were all barefoot walking on broken glass, even the bus driver who crashed the bus was barefoot lol.

u/Gold-Perspective-699 7h ago

In India some people are taught to drive barefoot so they can feel the pedals. It's weird but just a cultural thing.. It's probably safe but yeah don't.

u/NimrodvanHall 2h ago

It’s illegal to drive barefoot in the Netherlands, but I can really understand why one would prefer to do it. I also under why it’s illegal in Holland.

Last one to say not it has to do it, though.

It's not the heavy fog fucking me up it's the obvious strong wind.

u/TRR462 8h ago

It’s a good thing they’ve got half a wall and hand hold in the stairs to keep them from being blown right off it.

u/littlebrwnrobot 6h ago

Not to mention all the slick wet rock

u/Shabaz69 9h ago

Doing this is optional btw.

u/Artikay 9h ago

My parents say this was the path they had to take to school every day.

u/Time_Entertainer_319 9h ago

BOTH WAYS

u/Small-Explanation74 8h ago

With one leg in the air to kick off dragons trying to snatch them

u/Prestigious-Flower54 9h ago

With 100 pound book bags and tigers chasing them

u/OptimusTractorX 8h ago

Man, Rugrats was the bee's knees.

u/TonyFMontana 8h ago

Only it was covered in 10m of snow, all year long

u/Frumpy_little_noodle 8h ago

And all they had for breakfast was a piece of toast.

I'd rather do this daily than take one of their trains.

It would take only one person slipping....

u/Poonchild 9h ago

How the fuck is that guy’s shirt so clean and white?

u/Evening_Ticket7638 9h ago

Neel

u/Working-Mountain6680 7h ago

Lolololol only Indians will get that reference.

Is anyone still using neel? All i saw was that people went overboard with it during the 90s and everyone had bluish shirts.

u/Prestigious-Flower54 9h ago

He scotchgards his shirts.

Type of place i slip and fall from my dreams

u/Phorti 9h ago

The climb looks "fine" the descend on the other...

u/Individual_Speech_10 8h ago

Forget fog. It looks slippery.

u/AdmiralXI 9h ago

Oh, here’s a question: why?

u/Wolventec 8h ago

to bring the ring to modor without going through the black gate obviously

u/ButterBaconBallz 9h ago

Going back down looks even scarier.

u/Emmennater 8h ago

going back down is going to be hell on earth

u/ZnarfGnirpslla 8h ago

That looks terrifying no matter the conditions, what the actual fuck

u/finchthemediocre 8h ago

The great pilgrimage to High Hrothgard. I'm glad to see the Greybeards still receive company.

u/Wiffystardawg 9h ago

I could never........they are literally in SLIDERS? sliders/flip flops are two words that do not suit wet rock

I am developing vertigo watching it.

u/Wiffystardawg 8h ago

This definitely is going on my top 10 things NOT to do before I die straight on my FUCKTHAT list.

u/quiero-una-cerveca 8h ago

One dude slips and falls and he’s going to bowling pin the entire face of that rock. Nope!

u/Evening_Ticket7638 9h ago

Why is it only men? What are they doing at the top?

u/ReadIt_Here 9h ago

Why do you think average lifespan of a woman is greater than that of a man

u/texgothic 9h ago

Because India. I wouldn’t want to be a solo woman surrounded amongst the men on a mountain in the middle of nowhere.

→ More replies (4)

u/tall-glassof-falooda 9h ago

Doing manly stuff i imagine

u/LeKalan 8h ago

Why is it only men?

Happy?

u/cdrag_ 7h ago

Lol but it's very risky only found some reckless teenager there when I wen there last time

u/Main-Inflation-5269 8h ago

I used to live in India. It's always like this. Women do their own stuff.

I just KNEW somebody would be wearing fucking flip flops!

u/Stratomaster9 43m ago

I can't wait to not do this. Wait. I'm not doing it right now. Excellent.

u/NegotiationOk4424 9h ago

This is how I walk in my dreams. Crouched. Having to use my hands to drag my body. Also can’t kick a ball or ride a bike.

u/WarmUniversity2295 8h ago

What kind of fuck fuckery is this??

u/juliango 8h ago

Fffffffffffuuuuuuuu** that!

u/IvoShandor 8h ago

Indian outdoor wear is quite something.

u/strayanm8y 8h ago

Fuck dat

u/Tennents_N_Grouse 8h ago

FUCK THAT

u/AlexF2810 8h ago

Must have been the best fort in the world. Just the sight of those stairs would make me not want to try invade.

u/H0lyPotato_n00b 8h ago

"in heavy fog" i think the wet rock stairs without any protection are more terrifying

u/Straight_Page_8585 8h ago

Looks like the secret way into Mordor

u/romanrebel23 8h ago

Stunning. I used to build communication towers. After seeing a coworker drop a wrench and it split the man’s face roughly 20’ below him, despite wearing a helmet, I never trust someone climbing above me. If one person above you slips, you could be paying a hefty price. No thanks.

u/VirginiaLuthier 7h ago

Someone chiseled those steps and handholds out of the living rock. Imagine

u/CantFightCrazy 7h ago

Itd be interesting to see how it could be less terrifying without the fog.

u/Key_Report_2627 6h ago

Probably even more absolutely terrifying in perfectly clear conditions!

u/ch7mbucket 6h ago

Any stats on mortality risk on this?

u/Left-Height4925 3h ago

And I just left a thread full of people making fun of a goat that ran into a fireplace.

u/Excitedly_bored 3h ago

People "helping" by standing there offering a hand are actually making it much more dangerous by making people go around them.

u/TAC1313 2h ago

I think I'd rather have the fog. You can't see how high you actually are.

If I HAD to of course

u/Marckuz031 2h ago

Don't Worry if they fall, it will take hours before they reach the ground and the guy that will save them from the other side of the mountain will arrive just in time to catch them. #Bollywood

u/tanrock2003 9h ago

Meh, I’ve seen worse on Signal Hill in St John’s, NL in June

Terrifying because of the casual approach of these people towards heights in damp conditions.

u/hiphoptomato 9h ago

Completely optional btw

u/LetoA_III 9h ago

Climbing difficulty - Sandles

u/Sudden_Duck_4176 9h ago

This gives me anxiety, just watching this video.

u/somedayfamous 9h ago

It’s not the fog…

u/africaman1 9h ago

Fuck. That.

u/sam_el-c 9h ago

I might be able to do it but I don’t trust others to not slip and take me out

u/carolinesakura 9h ago

It would be ok if not for a bunch of people!

u/Ok_Cookie6726 9h ago

But why???

u/jetuinkabouter 8h ago

NEVER!!!!!

u/RogerFuckbytheNavale 8h ago

They have got to have more sense than that!

u/sunshine_royal 8h ago

Will never do this 😝

u/wbishopfbi 8h ago

You can omit the last three words.

u/Joppewiik 8h ago

The fog wasn't the thing that caught my attention in this video..

u/Lordhartley 8h ago

Looks terrifying in any weather!

u/Commentswhenpooping 8h ago

It has to look terrifying when it’s a clear day too yeah?

u/TheOneGreyWorm 8h ago

Huh, Look at them scramble.

u/Ilostmydonkey 8h ago

Darwin awards...

u/kmckenzie256 8h ago

Dress shirts and flip flops. Excellent mountain climbing gear.

u/williconn 8h ago

I literally have nightmares about shit like this

u/EvilDan69 8h ago

To show how even more awful it probably gets, someone dug that trench deeply into the rocks AND hand carved hand holds to help even further.

u/The-Bangaloreal 8h ago

Google says fatalities are rare.

How the fuck ?

u/Camelwalk555 8h ago

Cirith Ungle is India eh

u/geb_bce 8h ago

Going down would be a lot worse

u/BVoLatte 8h ago

This guy has a lot of trust he isn't going to get thrown off balance by the people crawling past him.

u/FrostyTree420 8h ago

In flipflops on slippery steps?

u/SeaworthinessLost984 8h ago

Is it worth climbing with such risk...?

u/argumentativepigeon 8h ago

Ye gang im sticking to video games

u/uzu_afk 8h ago

Yeah… it’s not the fog.

u/yepthisismyusername 8h ago

Nope, nope, nope, nope. Alone, maybe. But with that many people, hell no.

u/shubhanshux 8h ago

have u seen idiots, i have

u/eson1169 8h ago

When they’re finished with the climb, it’s off to ride 8 people to a motorcycle!

u/jusbou 8h ago

Good thing some of them are wearing their safety sandals.

u/sector16 8h ago

Good thing they have their safety flip flops on…can’t risk a fall.

u/TraditionalGarden570 8h ago

So these are the stairs of Cirith Ungol actually.

In button downs! Bollywood should really stop making those movies with random dancing on mountains

u/LawdFarquaadsChin 8h ago

Fog? That's your only take from this clip? The flip flops? Steep climb? SLIPPERY WET STEPS???!

u/Unsatisfactory_bread 8h ago

Lowkey reminds me of this.

u/recursion_is_love 8h ago

Why do I keep thinking about some dude falling and the domino effect.

https://giphy.com/gifs/HPA8CiJuvcVW0

u/Historical-Lie-6307 8h ago

It's too crowded

u/Ok-Bison-3451 8h ago

Why is only guys being so stupid?

u/Psilonaut21 8h ago

Nope.

u/anxiousbunnyclothes 8h ago

Humans have no business being here

u/icebeamtheory 8h ago

That’s nothing I stubbed my toe this morning on a Lego

u/POLACKdyn 8h ago

Yeah that's gonna be "fuck that" from me bro.

u/Ambitious_Phrase3695 8h ago

Why the f are they in business shirts ?!

u/Sophisticated-Tiger 8h ago

Looks like it would be terrifying in bright sunshine as well lol

u/Tiberius826 8h ago

I’m just gonna sit here and make everything crawl over me cuz I’m an asshole.

u/foxx_grey 8h ago

Honestly the fog is nothing compared to the wet rocks that I can feel my feet slipping on as I sit in my chair at my desk

u/Konsrockmannen 8h ago

How many fall every year to death?

→ More replies (1)

u/whatthedux 8h ago

Good thing theyre wearing safety sandals

u/kmerian 8h ago

Just looked it up, that staircase is 80 degrees!

u/AdhesivenessStill688 8h ago

That wind would mess me up

u/Fossylicious 7h ago

Flip flops and a dress shirt... Every climber needs those to succeed

u/Leewashere21 7h ago

I haven’t seen one thing in India where I’ve thought “ya that looks good”

u/michael0n 7h ago

The ai says you do this to see the breathtaking views from the top

u/jackalheart 7h ago

NOPE.

u/Dunno_If_I_Won 7h ago

So much nope.

u/Average_Joe_101 7h ago

Completely optional btw

u/bt65 7h ago

Going up on the wet rocks looks realy dangerous, but then there is this thing that you have to go down on those also... for me that's worse!

u/Important-Okra-1527 7h ago

How does he keep that white oxford hiking/office shirt so clean? I'd be muddy and gross by that point!

u/MRintheKEYS 7h ago

Actually the dense fog makes it difficult to see how long your fall will be realizing you made a huge mistake.

u/LefT-NYC 7h ago

I don't think it's the fog bro.

u/HammerBgError404 7h ago

how my parents went to school both ways

u/Parobolla 7h ago

How is that remotely safe/legal 😂

u/BadMotherFunko 7h ago

I would order Delivery

u/Responsible_Read_542 7h ago

Even in india they stand in the middle of the path blocking everyone so they can socialize

u/chili81 7h ago

It's shocking how much more faith in other human's behavior, in truly critical situations like this, that some people have than I do.

u/q_ali_seattle 7h ago

How many flip flop sandals did you count?

u/NoMajorsarcasm 7h ago

Just in fog?

u/im_bi_strapping 7h ago

Oh yeah, it's less terrifying of you can see exactly how high up you are. That is fully a death trap. Fuck all of that.

I am so grateful for screentime.

My stupid ass kept reading this as "Indiana".... I was so confused. I kept thinking "I need to drive over to Indiana and see this fort!"

u/ahammas 6h ago

Getting up is one thing, but getting down 😬

u/dullbrowny 6h ago

why bro why? with no safety rails or proper shoes? what are you searching for?

u/QuicheSmash 6h ago

Why do people insist on doing things like this?

u/Different_Eye_6790 6h ago

One slip and its bye bye for you
