This is one of the reasons why since I retired, I've been traveling in a small camper for the past three years. The chances of an encounter are essentially zero. Not exactly zero, but close 'nuff.

100%
Had a moment at Costco where I accidentally made eye contact with another shopper and it was absolutely someone I knew and hadn't seen in a while.
We both pretended it didn't happen and continued shopping.

On your worst day you will see everyone you know. Even people you haven't seen in years.

Replace hoodie with sunglasses on: me in the supermarket.

Is this really an introvert trait/curse?
I've always hated this feeling through my entire life.

I change it up between rural Food Lions and the occasional suburban Kroger when I need condoms and lube. Catch me at the gas station buying blunts if you must.

One time I flew 1200 miles away to get to Universal Studios to have a solo tip somewhere warm and saw someone I went to highschool with. I did not like that, let’s not do that again.

Yes. Ironic because I don't know that many people, but still. I've also seen some see me turning around to avoid them and I had to just double down. 🤣 I'm sorry I'm not sorry Stephen.

I’ve deliberately pretended not to notice someone I know when I’m out and had people say things to me like “I saw you but you weren’t looking.” No. No I wasn’t.

I hate it sooooo much when I accidentally make eye contact with someone I happen to know. I mastered a skill of immediately looking away and pretending not to see them this past few years, lol.
