Support iPhone Not Backing Up

Hi I have a question about backing up my iPhone. I have the 15 Pr Max 1TB and I’ve tried multiple times to back it up and it never finishes. It took 60 hours to finally get everything transferred and then when it was finishing up, it suddenly said it wasn’t able to be completed.

I have to send the backup to an external drive since my phone is so much space and my computer doesn’t have that much so that might be the issue but I had no trouble doing it to an external drive with my last phone so I’m not sure what’s wrong. Any suggestions would be great!

C: disk cleanup (right click properties) to make room. May have to put whatever’s in documents and downloads and photos onto the external drive (make two copies) to she enough space.

Needs enough room for the entire phone backup.

Name brand cable from a store, not a generic from Amazon. iTunes “diagnostics” to test the cable and ports of phone and laptop (dirty?)

iTunes encrypted backup on, to save Health data and passwords

Phone in airplane mode, background refresh off, battery low power mode on.
