Patch Haul DIY patches
I made these patches with puff paint and I think they came out pretty nicely. I gotta clean up the edges on two of em, and I’m working on a nailbomb patch

Hey all, hope everyone's enjoying pride month and hope some of you have or are going to make it to a Pride event this month! I did London Metal Pride yesterday with my stall and it was such a lovely day. Bands from 1pm-11pm and the most varied crowd of inclusive metalheads that you can get.
Anyways, fellow mod u/shemtpa96 has kindly set up a new filtering tool that allows us to filter out comments from people who have commented in the other sub to give us a chance to review the content and ensure it's not brigading.
This means if you have commented or posted in there, even to defend yourself or others, you will have your comment or post held up for a quick review. We intend to process these fairly quickly so please know your content will be visible soon enough and that you don't need to message us if you can't see your content.
We're confident this will help cut down on the brigading and nastiness we've been subjected to by folks with too much time on their hands and that we can continue to grow and enjoy this space as the safe place it should be.
We want you to feel comfortable posting your work on the sub and hope that going forward you can do so without feeling like you have to defend yourself or your identity.
If you have any questions about this, please use the comment section here.
Thank you to all of you for helping make this place what it is.
Keep posting your stuff! We love to see it! 🤘

Hello all,
A new rule has been added regarding AI.
In short: don't post that slop here regardless of format.
In detail:
AI is a danger to the environment. A majority Black neighborhood in South Memphis, TN - Boxtown - is being choked by an AI data center. It's estimated that AI will use 4.2-6.6 BILLION CUBIC METERS OF WATER PER YEAR by 2027.
AI has been correlated with multiple cases of delusions and/or psychosis in people who overuse it.
AI steals from living artists.
AI produces non-consensual images of people upon request, which is both immoral and illegal. The companies have done nothing to stop it.
AI hallucinates. That's the nice way the industry says "AI is flat out making shit up".
Don't post that shit here. This is a space for art made by living beings.

Planning on using some of the goofy video game and movie related patches I have to throw onto a bag, but nothing I've been able to find really stands out as something that would look good patched up. Everything has tons of pockets and zippers that limit the amount of space I'd have. So far I'm thinking I'll probably end up waiting to find an old jansport backpack or a milsurp/rothco bag, but I'm still on the lookout. Do any of y'all have recs for a backpack that has that minimalist no pockets kinda design that I'd be able to slap a decent handful of patches on without looking like a mess? Thanks!

I paint a ton of smaller/normal sized patches, but never undertook a patch of this scale. Did not account for how many hours I'd spend on the script. Lol

Still lots to do. Have a Frank Sinatra patch on the way to add. I really want to put a bit of everything I listen to, and a lot of bands I've seen. Just to piss off the death metal elitists 🤣

Something feels missing from this guy. I've never really done stipple-work before so I wanted to try my hand at it. I free-handed him based on a few images on old metal shirts, but they were more color and a different art style. Does anyone who's better at drawing have advice on what I could add to him for more detail? I'm just a little stuck.

This is my first and oldest jacket I like to work on it whenever I have the motivation to do it. Still thinking about what patches to fill in the gaps with and will probably change out the spikes, also going to switch out certain patches. Im excited to see where this thing goes in another 500 years

This is easily one of the favorite projects that I've ever had that I have embarked on. The ultimate goal is to have this thing completely full so this will be a work in progress until then. I have so many more patch ideas but so few supplies to put them on

this has been how my vest has looked for a while, but ive started to feel like the patches on the back look like theyre too far from the backpatch (specifically the ones on the side). the reason i didnt put them closer initially is cause i would need to sew the patches on top of the backpatch. not sure if i should fix it and if it would even look better, it would be a lot of work to do. any help would be appreciated.

I am only missing a patch for the upper back, and I’ll know it when I see it. I’ve tried to keep the message more uplifting, as community is the only way we will make it through.
The back of the jacket is hand embroidered flowers that were chosen using the Victorian language of flowers and all have meanings - justice, protection, community, etc. the Propagandhi lyrics are a bandanna from Vichcraft, the birds are made by Stephanie Brown.
The front is pretty self explanatory.
The fabric on the inside is to protect the back of the stitching, and extra evil eye protection is never a bad thing.

I’m working on a whimsical battle jacket that focuses on progressive education specifically that designed in Italy after World War II specifically to create a negative foundation for the reintroduction of fascism

just started this jacket, i cut the sleeves off of a rugby shirt i found in my local thrift store and added them instead of the denim sleeves this jacket originally had because the original sleeves had a weird fit, i haven't really started adding patches yet other than the green day on the back because i had a vision for it. i've added some chains and studs though that i think turned out pretty nice.

Planning on transfering the machine girl one over to this awesome jacket that i bought. Never made a battle jacket, and im honestly gonna just have it be me. All patches i made myself except for the lgbtq inclusion flag. Most of these ill prob keep on the bag cause hell yeah. Any tips are welcomed.
I am interested in a lotta non-metal bands which doesnt bother me tbf. I may share a lot of my patches i plan on putting on the jacket when it comes :)
