Help identifying RAS

Found this in my bucket of stuff, never seen this one before. Anybody know anything about this guy?

That’s an earlier RIS which is the predecessor of the RAS

Rarer than the average RAS for sure. It’s clone correct for earlier sopmod m4 and cqbr builds circa late 90s to early 2000s. Only real difference is the screw mounts at the handguard cap instead of the barrel nut. They do not hold zero because of this apparently.

If I remember correctly, USG said they didn’t hold zero well enough so KAC made their requested changes in the RAS and they ended up testing pretty similarly.

This having odd number markings I think makes this a “Navy RIS” which adds a tiny bit of extra sauce but maybe like $20 worth.

That was my worry with it since it's not actually locked in anywhere. Appreciate the info maybe I'll throw it on the mod 0 instead of this weird Troy thing

All the same, delta was the first users of the RAS, they were fully converted to over by then
