Have you looked at the Red Lion rotating forend? Great for mounting optics without losing the folding feature.

I did and almost went with it, but decided to go with the quick detach mount for 2 reasons:

  1. I like the look of the Red Lion forend, but slightly prefer the stock appearance.
  2. I use a slim under-bed safe and it won't fit with both the angled foregrip and scope when rotated sideways. I could keep the scope on the left side and have them at 90 degrees, then rotate when I want to use the scope; but that becomes an issue when the scope isn't in use and I want to lay it down with the chamber facing up.

The reviews say the Monstrum quick detach mount holds 0 fairly well. Haven't put many rounds through it yet, so we'll see. If it's an issue, I was considering doing the 45 degree canted mount. Weird with a scout scope, but I've seen it work.

Did you do the full trigger kit or just the shoe and guard?

Nice. I asked my local shop if he would do the full trigger kit, he said “I’ll do the kit… but I won’t enjoy it.” I felt that!

Next time you’ve got it open, put the stainless steel screw kit in as well

Yeah, as soon as I posted I knew I was lying to myself. Will probably do the steel feed ramp also. But with regards to external mods, it's done.
