I'm 20 years old male 175cm and 84 kg, So I had UTI last year, and it was so severe that I had blood coming from my penis when I was urinating, then I got it checked and they said it was UTI and during that time I had sever pain at lower back which slowly started from left and then radiated to right and overall in whole and then got treated, but ever since then I have been having foamy urine. I have multiple tests for RFT and spot urine protein creatinine ratio etc due my fear and all everything is normal, but I still don't know why my urine is foamy, and it just gives me anxiety and stress about my kidneys. I don't know if they're damaged or will be damaged in long run, and also my BP is most of the times around 130/80. and all the test I did was because my dad told me to as he is a doctor (MBBS works as occupational medical officer), but now whenever I tell about my urine, he just tells me that it might be physiological and to ignore it, but | just can't and I'm just scared. Anyone can know what's up with me or if anyone who's facing the same thing?

I have very complex kidney/kidney stones; 1 x 3-4cm staghorn, plus multiple other stones in one kidney. My kidney is/was hydronephrotic and I was later diagnosed with stage 1 XGP (which they are still undecided on due to the complexity of the kidney). Two procedures have been attempted on the staghorn, but during the 2nd procedure it had to be stopped due to complications. The team has decided it is too dangerous to continue/the possibility of what can be achieved is not worth the risk of continuing to try to save the kidney. I am in complete agreement that it needs to be removed.

I am planned to have a larascopic kidney removal, but i also have in the back of my mind that it might convert to open due to the complexity. Any advice or information from anyone's experience with kidney removal, from the operation itself to recovery and living with 1 kidney would be greatly appreciated.

I've had some burning sensation combine with difficult urinations from time to time and I leak some urine after a few minutes, If I crouch and crush my penis with my thighs I leak urine, it's like it gets kind of strapped in the shaft making my penis being always wet and the urine smell it's different. I've had swab test, urine test, STI tests and everything went back negative and well. Lab test says I'm fine but I'm not.

I need help

10F, 4’7”, 99 lbs and currently seeing a pediatric GI for suspected celiac (history of stomachache, headache, dizziness). An abdominal ultrasound today was all normal except for the finding that her right kidney measures 12cm, while her left kidney measures 9cm. Measurements confirmed with two scans by two different techs. My understanding is that 12cm is quite large for her age - is this true? Kidneys otherwise appear healthy. No known indication of any kind of kidney issue or infection. Exact language from imaging report below. Is this anything worth following up on? Can one large kidney be a normal anatomical variance? Thank you!

I am 27 years old M, recently took a complete blood test and the only concerning issue is the kidney and i was advised to drink water and maintain proper sleep i agree i used to drink less than a litre everyday and now im drinking 3 litres of water but iam worried if i will get kidney stones or may be it will be a future problem and someone else said drinking too much water will drain minerals and weakens me so iam confused and worried kindly advice .

33/ Female. Medications: Pantoprazole and Birth Control.

I’m panicking that I’m on the verge of kidney disease because of PPIs.

I have been taking Pantoprazole since at least 2018. I was prescribed it by my family doctor, taking it every day for heartburn. My doctor quit her practice, so now I have to go to a walk in clinic to see a doctor, or use an app that my province has to make a doctors appointment. I have been given refills of this pill every damn day since then. And I’ve taken it every day, no one told me the risks.

My eGFR keeps dropping, and my creatinine is climbing. There’s no protein in my urine, no blood in my urine. Nothing that basically gives these numbers a reason to drop. Realistically no symptoms that I’m aware of.

Could this be from Pantoprazole? Am I basically doomed and will develop kidney disease? I’m terrified at the rate this is dropping. I’m angry for doctors continuously prescribing this to me for 9 years when it should be a short term thin. Can my eGFR even bounce back at this point?

I’m lost.

My eGFR is 42 my Creatinine is 1.89 my a1c is 5.4 should I be super worried or ... my doctor doesn't seem to worried. Taking forever to see a kidney specialist in November should I go see one earlier than November?

Background- I have a horseshoe kidney and developed hydronephosis in the left limb when I was 5 or 6 ish and had a stent put in to drain fluid. I had ultrasounds after and the left limb is forever damaged and will always have some fluid.

A few years ago, I started getting pain on my left side, but I had an ultrasound and a MAG-3 scan and they found nothing that would suggest anything was wrong.

I had an ultrasound today for stomach pain I've been having. They found my stomach was super gassy, but looked at my kidneys and found a significant amount of fluid on the left limb. They dont have my most recent scans to compare it to but they gave my results to my GP FAST (within about an hour) and my GP called me and said they are referring me to urology ASAP to check it out.

I am terrified. I have always been scared of my kidney playing up again, and now that it might be, I dont know what to do. I dont know whether they could do another stent because of the damage already done to my left limb, or even if they can I'm terrified about it. I know it might be fine, but waiting on decisions/scans/opinions is terrifying.

I have had a uti - supposedly- for a few weeks. Got tested (PCR) threeish weeks ago, PCR came back last Thursday with 3 bacteria and was prescribed Levaquin which I was too afraid to take (if you don't know what it can do, you should look it up). Went to urgent care to retest, given Bactrim as a catch-all while I waited for the culture, which came back contaminated. I am still taking the Bactrim.

Today I started feeling a soreness in my lower left side of my back. It changes when I move, and feels tender when I press on it. Because it changes when I move, Google is saying it is probably muscular.

I already messaged my Dr about this and she has not replied yet, likely because it's evening. I have an appt on Monday.

My UTI symptoms really haven't changed though, they aren't incredibly severe and I also am not nauseous and don't have a fever. The pain in my back isn't enough for me to wince or say ow. It isn't constant, but definitely becomes more noticeable when I move or twist. It just feels bothersome.

From what you guys know/experience, does this sound like a kidney infection to you? Or just some kind of muscle pull?

I’m (33F) currently being treated for my first kidney infection. I woke up on 08/08/26 with some mild flu like symptoms, as well as aching in my mid and lower back. I went to urgent care and they found blood and bacteria in my urine so I was diagnosed with cystitis and prescribed Keflex for 7 days. As the day went on my back, flank, & abdominal pain became unbearable, I was nauseous and throwing up, and I spiked a fever very quickly. I went to the ER and had several tests done, including a CT scan that showed pyelonephritis on my right side. With the new diagnosis I was advised to go off Keflex and start Bactrim for 14 days.
My urine culture came back showing both E. coli (expected) and Citrobacter youngae (never heard of this strain but apparently it’s antibiotic resistant). I followed up with my PCP and she confirmed that Bactrim is suitable for both strains and to continue antibiotics as directed.
My continued symptoms were back & flank pain, abdominal pain, bloating, mild nausea, and occasional urgency. It took about a week on antibiotics to feel symptom relief but I did feel completely better by the end of my course. I took my last antibiotic on the night of 08/22, had a symptom free day on 08/23, and then woke up with back & flank pain again on 08/24. The pain has gotten much worse over the last day and my other symptoms (abdominal pain, bloating, nausea, urgency) have returned as well.
I saw my PCP again today and she put me back on Bactrim for a few days while I wait for another urine culture. Urinalysis showed blood but no bacteria. I was also referred to a urologist but can’t get in for another couple weeks.

Have any women had similar experiences ? What was the outcome ? How worried should I be ?
I don’t have any history of recurring UTI’s (had a lower UTI in 2019 with no recurrent issues) or kidney stones. I also had no UTI symptoms, namely any urinary symptoms, until the infection progressed into my kidneys and made me acutely ill.
I am slightly worried about the possibility of endometriosis or another underlying cause.

Hi, im experiencing drops of blood at the end of my urine. I noticed that everytime I'm drinking strong coffee i'm experiencing this, is this connected? Sometimes it stings but sometimes when I drink a lot of water it doesn't sting.

For context, I already had Urinalysis and Urine Culture & Sensiticity and it turned our normal without any bacteria/yeast infection. I already done CT Stonogram also and no stones were found and all organs are normal.

Your advice or diagnosis will be helpful

I am having a bad pain in my front side of the kidney for a few seconds it comes and goes randomly it happens mostly when I sit down or apply pressure while pooping sometimes it hurts reallyyy very bad and sometimes it does not hurt at all like nothing ever happened it's the left side mostly I can breathe properly my urine does not blood I don't faint im just lazy and sleepy the whole day as my sleeping time is 9am to 2pm something always. My poop is the right color aswell I'm actually really scared as it's been going on since a long time recently my penis started to hurt but it isn't anymore happens very rarely. I'm 18 looking for urgent help, also my chest near heart pains at night time just at night. I've been vaping for 2 years but this seems to start after I quit vaping. Any Help would be Appreciated.

Hi everyone:) any input or advice would be great as i am feeling very confused and a little worried.

Recently I (24f) learned that there should never be urine in your blood (ever!!!). I was very surprised by this because there has been blood in my urine on and off (not while on my period) for at least a year. I went to my general doctor (she is on vacation so i saw a prn? Something like that. I feel that if she were here shed have been more helpful as she is always very diligent with stuff and never outright dismisses me)

they found red blood cells in my urine (microscopic) and lab found no bacteria or signs of uti. A second at-home urine test they had me bring also showed blood cells with no bacteria.

Bloodwork said my kidney levels are within normal range, and my liver is ok.

I had a uti 2 months ago and xray showed no kidney stones so its definitely not that? I was pretty much just told "I dont know, lose weight."

I asked for a urology or nephrology referral but was refused. Am I fine? Do I get a second opinion? Thanks for any input :(
