Modding 🪛 Kindle 5th jailbroken problem

I have a 5th-generation Kindle from 2012, firmware 4.1.4, serial number: 9023. I tried the jailbreak and followed the main guide; I managed to do it, but I'm stuck at the step asking me to install KUAL and MRPI. Basically, I put the kual.jar and kual.sh files into the 'documents' folder and eject the Kindle , but the kual manual don’t show up , I tried many things : peki , free up some space ( I have 1.5 gb left ) but there nothing I can do , please someone help me

Sounds like you're following the wrong guide for that Kindle.

You need to copy KUAL-KDK-1.0.azw2 to the documents folder. Any other method of installing KUAL won't work on that model.

Are you following the guide on kindlemodding.org? It's on the first page of the instructions for installing KUAL.

Your Kindle model is K4, not K5. I know Amazon calls it 5th generation, but the modding community calls it K4.

That won't work on K4. Kindlemodding.org seems to give a lot of bad info for older Kindle models.

Download the "koreader-kindle-v*.zip" file from here. It contains two folders:

  • extensions
  • koreader

Copy those two folders to your Kindle's root directory. Then you can use KUAL to launch KOReader.

Are the two files directly inside the documents folder, or did they end up in a subfolder after unzipping?

No sub folder , all the files are in the document folder
