Help Needed - Urushi Urushi question

Hi! I am almost out of pure urushi and my restock is stuck in customs for who knows how long. I have plenty of black urushi and was wondering if I could substitute that to make mugi, sabi, and kokuso. I’ve got a few projects that are idling while I wait for more pure urushi. Anyone done this before?

It's not ideal, but it'll work in a pinch. Just be extra careful with stainable surfaces.

Thanks, I appreciate the reply. I think I’ll give a try on a couple of pieces and see how it goes.

I’d test an area of vessel before committing. Especially with pure white porcelain and vessels that are unglazed. Last time I ordered some it just took a week. (2 months ago)
