Hello! I was just gifted this Labubu by a coworker who no longer wanted it and I was wondering if they were maybe fake? I tried the authentication QR code for fun and it said the code exceeded the limit of verifications and that sent me down a rabbit hole on whether I was really holding a Lafufu. They don’t match any obvious fakes to me, but the wonky eye keeps throwing me off. Any opinions from seasoned Labubu(fufu) owners is greatly appreciated! I love them regardless I was just not aware lafufus have gotten this good! lol

This is my first time buying a new release mokoko hopefully Ali express don’t cancel my order if her market price goes up 😭 I heard they tend to pull that trick. I keep making minor alterations like every other day 😅 Love her scrungly bow but it looks too busy with the necklace.

A colorwash around her eyes and teeth really improved the look of the PFL painted on eyes. I also stuffed her a little more, made the tail, and the necklace, fluffed her fur out with a nail brush. Tail is prehensile (wired)!

Question I know that the first one looks very used i honestly don't have pictures of the tags. They look a little real but im not sure and im thinking of buying them are they a real mokoko and chestnut cocoa?

Full disclosure: I stream for a blind box shop that ships out of China, so this is the side of it I deal with every day. No links, nothing to sell you here — I just keep seeing the same panicked posts and the explanations in the comments are usually half right.

Since most Labubu releases drop in China first, a lot of you are now ordering cross-border whether you planned to or not. The tracking behaves differently from domestic orders and that trips people up.

What the timeline actually looks like

• Processing, 2-5 business days — picked, checked, packed. Longer if it's a pre-order, because the stock isn't in hand yet.
• Domestic leg, 2-3 days — moving to the outbound facility inside China.
• Cross-border transit and customs, 6-12 days — the long stretch and the least predictable. This covers waiting for flight or vessel space, the crossing itself, then clearance and sorting on arrival. Actual customs clearance is usually quick; most of that window is transport and waiting for capacity.
• Local delivery, 2-4 days.

Call it 10-18 business days after processing, which in practice is two to four calendar weeks door to door.

Why two orders placed the same day arrive weeks apart

This is the one that generates the most "did they forget half my order" posts.

Part of it is what's in the box. Contents decide which shipping channel a parcel is even allowed on:

• Anything with magnets — magnetic accessories, swappable parts, magnetic bases — has to go on a line cleared for magnetic goods. Smaller pool of flights.
• Anything with a battery, like light-up pieces, needs a battery-certified line. Fewer carriers, more paperwork, noticeably slower.
• Large plush is volumetric cargo. A big Labubu weighs almost nothing but eats space, so it's priced and scheduled by volume. When capacity is tight, bulky-light freight is first to get bumped to the next flight.

And the part nobody mentions: freight forwarders split shipments across different channels to spread their own costs. Your two parcels can end up on completely different routes purely because of how the forwarder is balancing capacity that week. It has nothing to do with your order.

The "returned to sender" scare

This one got me on my own shipment, so I'll use that.

I sent a parcel at the end of July. A few days later the tracking logged a return scan at the origin facility, then went silent. Two weeks on I checked, concluded it had been turned around and never left the country, and wrote to the recipient apologising and offering a replacement.

They replied the same day: it had arrived the night before.

What happened is the courier handed the parcel to a different carrier and reissued it under a new tracking number. The old number records that handoff as a return and then stops updating forever, while the parcel travels on normally under a number nobody had told either of us about.

So if you see a return scan followed by silence, don't assume anything. Ask the seller specifically whether the parcel was reissued under a new number — don't just quote the old one back at them, because they'll look it up and see the same dead trail you do. That's exactly how I got it wrong.

Other things that look broken but aren't

• Nothing for the first 48 hours — the number exists before the parcel gets its first scan.
• Days of silence mid-transit — nothing scans while it's in the air or on the water.

When it's actually worth worrying

Past the estimated window with no movement at all, or the last scan is more than 10 days old.

If your tracking is doing something strange — stuck for days, showing a return, or a split order arriving in pieces — post the details and I'll tell you what's most likely going on.
