hi my car is mitsubishi lancer ex gls 1.6 2017 and the mechanic replace the transmission oil with TOTACHI ATF Dex-VI Some of them said that it is not suitable and the seller insisted that it is suitable.

im lost and i fill 4 lits not fully replace the oil

So my 09 Lancer GTS is starting to have problems occasionally with the CVT transmission slipping. I've owned it since new & have 160k miles on it now. I have replaced the fluid & changed the filter 4 times since I've had it. I have always used the genuine Mitsubishi CVT fluid.

I will be driving & occasionally the RPM's will rise without a corresponding increase in speed. It catches again and returns to normal a second or two later. It doesn't do it every time I drive. I notice it happens more when it's like 100⁰ outside, so probably has something to do with the heat. I have the GTS model so it has a trans cooler already.

Should I spend the money on a fluid flush & fill on this transmission or is the damage already done? I was thinking about getting a larger trans cooler & replacing it when I change the fluid, but just buying the fluid is about $200 already. I don't want to waste the money on the fluid if it's not going to help.

Anyone have a recommendation on where to get a replacement CVT? I can replace it myself. Or alternatively is a rebuild an option? I know very little about CVT transmissions.

Hello everyone! I hope you can help me. My 2012 Lancer GTS is having the following issues: •It won't crank •The cooling fans turn on when the ignition is switched on •The transmission position indicators (P, N, R, D) do not appear.

It has some modifications such as lowered suspension, Outlander breaks, OZ wheels, admission and filter changed… I’m also looking to change the hood, add a front lip, and make a custom exhaust.

2008 Lancer GTS
Backstory: Engine was overheating, got checked & coolant was bone dry bc it’s been leaking out a hose that wasn’t on properly. Also was told I needed new Radiator, got a new one replaced, added coolant and wasn’t overheating for about 1 hour of driving, now it’s overheating again and not sure if this noise has anything to do with it.

A tree fell on my trunk and I had to replace it, i bought a secondhand black trunk that needs to be repainted and I thought well since I am getting it painted why not put down a little more and get something a lil special and my question now is. Would this look good irl? (AI mockup)

So when we started it black smoke came from the fuse box and now the car doesn't nothing when attempting to start it. She loves this car and if I can fix it id like to. Anyone have experience with that?

The throw out bearing is toast and the car makes some crazy noises, was wondering what clutch kit i should buy to replace it? Not looking to spend too much money but i have some saved up.

I admit it, I riced this poor car. But in all honesty I was proud of it when I had it. I used it as my test dummy and it’s how I learnt to work on cars. Started with simple things like suspension, then I taught myself to paint and panel beat. Never had a problem in this beaut. Can’t say the same for my new daily 🙄(370z)

And yes. It’s an ES riced base model. So many people ask if it’s an Evo, and the let down when I would tell them it was an ordinary base model lancer covered in Facebook marketplace and temu parts is hilarious.

Anyways, judgement aside. I’ve heard the: “waste of money”, “waste of time” , “I don’t understand why people do this to ordinary lancers” I get it. I was proud of it, prettied it up to my taste and had fun. Thoughts?

I recently bought a Mitsubishi lancer 1.5 Automatic. I just wanted a good mechanic who can tune the car. Also, I feel like the engine is underpowered when the AC is on with full blast. I don’t know if it is supposed to be underpowered like that or shall I get it checked ?

Okay, so I bought this 2008 Lancer ES last week. I was just cruising around my city for an hour and near the end of the drive, the Service Engine Soon light came on. It's not flashing.

I checked my transmission fluid levels and it seems fairly low, and it turns purple after drying on the paper towel. It seems like that isn't a good thing.

I need to take it to a mechanic anyways, but just wondering what you all think. Thanks in advance!
