client Should I ask for a refund

Post image

Recently got my lashes done for the first time in almost 10 years. When I tell you…. I am horrified by the results lol. But I’m not typically someone who asks for refunds (in fact, I never have before).

First off, the lashes are incredibly uneven from eye to eye. Like so much so I have speculated what could have gone wrong.

Second off, (this is the picture) they are SO FAR FROM MY EYELID?!?!? I have never once in my life had lash extensions floating so far away from my lid.

Is this NORMAL?!? Have lashes gotten this much worse somehow in 10 years??!?

PS this is directly after getting them

I have been going to this lash artist for a few months now. I had previously gone to a different person for years and I loved her but she quit to stay at home with her children. I always had great retention with her and could usually book 3 week fills, with my lashes still looking good even at the 3 week mark.

My new girl I’ve gone to for a couple months. The initial volume set was really pretty and full. The next fill was 2 weeks after and I noticed she didn’t lash quite a bit of lashes. I didn’t say anything because I thought maybe there was a reason. I also lost a lot of lashes within the first few days.

Last Tuesday I went for a fill and had lashes falling out that night when I brushed them. I messaged her the next morning and she said it was probably the humidity and sweat from where it’s been hot. Here I am a week out from my last fill and this is what they look like.

Am I crazy for thinking this is rough for just a week out from my last fill? I feel as though I have good aftercare as it worked well with my last girl.

DIY cluster lash recommendations for this specific look?

I’m trying to recreate a very specific lash look with DIY clusters and would LOVE recommendations from people who have successfully achieved something similar.

I’m going for that Kim Kardashian / Middle Eastern glam-inspired lash look: extremely long, very black, elongated and dramatic, but still fine, separated, wispy, and airy rather than thick or bulky.

The part I’m struggling to explain is that I want them to look bold in color and length, but delicate in individual fibers. Think lots of visible length and definition without creating a super-heavy black lash band or fluffy mega-volume effect.

I’d love recommendations for:
Cluster brands you swear by
Lengths you use
Curl type
Individual cluster styles/shapes
A lash map that works for this look
Any tips for getting those little separated/spiky pieces throughout

I have a medium-tan/tan complexion with warm golden-olive undertones, so I’m also trying to make sure the lashes have enough contrast to really pop.
I’m attaching a few inspiration photos. If you’ve successfully recreated this kind of look with clusters, please show me your results + tell me exactly what you used! I’m especially interested in recommendations from people who do their own clusters at home.

Beginner lash tech

Hi everyone, so I want to start doing lashes and becoming a lash tech. I am a stay at home mom but I want a job that’s on my own time and schedule especially because of my kids. I bought a lash kit on Amazon called hoka lashes. I don’t have much money to take a class since most classes are $1,000+ so I decided to learn on my own. Is the hola lash kit actually good for beginners?

help Lashes will not stick at all

I have been trying to put on lash extensions for the first time and no matter what i do i cannot get them to stick, they always pull off with little to no effort or just fall off when i blink.

I was first using la maesii 2 in 1 lash cluster glue but it wasnt working so i tried using the blue waterproof duo striplash glue and that also does not work at all. it doesnt stick to my lashes, it doesnt stick to my eyelids, ive tried sticking it to my cheek or my fingers or the back of my hand and it will not stay at all. ive tried waiting 30 seconds after applying the glue before trying to stick them on, i have also tried anywhere from immediately to 5 minutes after and it has also not worked. i have also tried varying amounts of glue from a tiny bit to a lot and no luck there either.

Ive been doing lots and lots of googling and research to see what could possibly be the problem and ive seen that humidity and temperature can cause issues but thats not really something that i can change. i live in a fairly hot and humid environment in Canada, BC if that information is helpful

I was just hoping that theres someone out there who has experienced this before that can help because i really have no idea what im doing and ive been trying daily for weeks without any improvement.

Is it normal to show your lash tech a specific lash map you want, or is that considered annoying? 😭

advice How to make lashes last as long as possible

So I’ve been getting lash extensions for 4 years now. For the past 2 years I’ve been getting them done almost consistently, and I do take breaks and use lash serums, which really do help, not that my natural lashes are damaged. But I often find that even after a week, my lashes look completely different. Does anyone have any crazy tips or anything that you do that keeps your lashes lasting longer than they normally would? I know it probably comes down to the glue your lash tech uses, and I also use a lash extension eye mask when I’m sleeping, and I wash them often too, so I think I’m doing the best I can to keep them, but I feel that other peoples lashes last longer. Any advice? Should I switch lash tech?

advice how to sleep with lash clusters

hey all ! i’m trying to get in to wearing lash clusters (as strip lashes always mess up when i’m in a rush, and i can’t afford extensions).

i’ve put them on twice now (veyes brand) and i’ve taken them off soon after just since im trying to learn put them on properly first. i’m going to try them again this week as i have an event to go to and want to do them the day before.

how do you go about sleeping with them on ? i’m a little (lot) nervous to. i’m scared they’ll irritate my eyes or that they’ll come off. or that they’ll do damage to my eyes.

i apply the bond to the base of my lashes, and then some to the actual cluster band as i don’t tend to work quick enough for it yet. i try my absolute best to not stick them to my waterline and to keep them 1mm or so away, but i also wear glasses so it’s hard to see what i’m doing without them. i then clamp them and use the seal stuff afterwards.

any tips appreciated

client am i crazy

context:
i booked with a lash tech that was having a new client promo which included: 48 hours free touch up for any lashes that fall off.

i got my lashes done 4 days before i was leaving for vacation. by the second and third day i had basically lost half my lashes on one eye. within the 48hrs i texted her asking if i could get the touch up before i left. let’s say i text her tuesday to see if she’s free wednesday. she is not. i think it’s not bad. thursday, the day i leave, ive lost even more lashes, i text her again to let her know. she initially says if i wasn’t leaving she would’ve done them. i’m let her know i can make something work that day before my flight. she changes to, she can’t because her daughter is sick.

i ask for a refund. because both days after and within the 48 hours she promises she’s not available. she states she can’t offer a refund because this is her ‘source of income’. all she can do is offer me half off a fill when i return from vacation.

i’m trying to be very compassionate but the service was expensive and intended to be a treat for myself. so it was quite frustrating not getting the intended results. and i understand natural lashes falling and things can happen the first couple days. but based on the style i got, it looked bad before i left.
it’s like day 6 of having these lashes and every lash that falls off, my natural lashes are falling off too.

included a pic of my lashes. first picture is what it looked like two days after. second picture is my right that was still sort of full and clear idea of what the set looked like.

am i being crazy for my request?
if you are a lash tech what would you do ?

EDIT: thank you everyone for your feedback. she’s basically screened my message and is no longer responding. i still on vacation and still have the lashes on. i purchased lash clusters to fill in the gaps (probably bad i know). my eyes are also extremely itchy on the right eye, no clusters.

i paid with my debit card not credit. my bank requires waiting 15 days before filing a dispute. the service was $110. i also plan on leaving a google review as well.

FIXED OVER-PROCESS BY ANOTHER ARTIST

Post image
5 Upvotes

My client came to me just 3 days after receiving a Korean lash lift elsewhere that left her lashes overprocessed and curled so tightly they were causing her discomfort.

Instead of immediately putting her lashes through another chemical service, I chose to relax the curl without adding any additional chemicals and focus on keeping the lashes as healthy as possible.

The goal wasn’t perfection in one appointment

it was relief + protecting the integrity of her natural lashes.

She left feeling SO much more comfortable and happy with the difference. Sometimes knowing when not to process the lashes again is just as important as knowing how to lift them. 🤍

Help a lash girly out

Post image
2 Upvotes

hey girliess so i’m a lash girly who had fallen in love with this specific brands (Brand is EEFOFNN) lashes but unfortunately this is their last package that they sent me for free since i had messaged them about it and unfortunately their manufacturer has discontinued the product and they are now longer selling it but i have had an idea where we all message them and let them see how much people love this product because for me on a personal level i absolutely adore this product i have worn it to all my special events in my life and i was hoping if we could all spam or message them they would see how many people miss and love this product and hopefully they would bring it back which in results the people who love this product and miss it will be able to get it back and the brand/manufacturer would be able to make profit off the people buying it, so if you have time or would like to help a lash girly out just trying to get her favorite lashes back please message them on their instagram which is eefofnnbeauty and it would mean the world to me and probably many others who would like this product back but don’t have to confidence or voice to ask for help, with sincere thanks from the lash community and me. 💕💗

Hi, I wanted to post on beauty sub but I can't because I don't use reddit often 😅 Anyone tested this ? People mainly talk about the normal one and how it gives them brown lines on their eyelids or even makes their eyelashes look really messy... i'm a bit afraid. Saw this one and it's supposed to be more delicate. Anyone tried it and can tell me how it went pls ? Thank's ☺️
