"I want to build a skyscraper from the 30th floor up, but have no foundation."

See the problem?

You need to start at the bottom, at the foundation: MOOC Python Programming 2026 from the University of Helsinki.

Then, move on to libraries like OpenCV for image recognition and analysis - this will help you with your final goal.

no he dicho que no quiera aprender las bases, algo de base tengo, pero me refería a que realmente nunca he usado del todo python, conozco todo el control de flujo etc pero nunca me he puesto a hacer programas

if you have zero python experience, start with a basic intro course first so you understand variables, loops, and functions. then look into opencv and mediapipe tutorials on youtube, there are tons of step by step hand tracking guides that assume you're brand new.

if youre looking to make a finger tracker, checking out OpenCV for computer vision is a solid choice.
