LS Class A Office Space
I remember a long time ago there was land set aside for Class A office space near Unity Village off of 50 hwy and 470 that haven’t come to fruition yet that was dubbed as a Corporate Woods like development. Does the nearby Discovery Park development have class A office space included in the plans?
Iv seen class A office space in Lenexa City Center, Olathe and Overland Park that are nice and I think would work really well in LS. The metro continues to sprawl and LS could be a magnet for businesses moving closer to their workers in the suburbs. Especially for Jackson County, outside of KCMO, Lees Summit is nice enough and getting big enough to attract large businesses to come here. This would mean more high paying jobs right here in Lees Summit and you wouldn’t have to commute to downtown or joco.

I live very close to that development, and by the looks and size of it, I would imagine they would include those types of spaces. It's huge and barely getting started. This is me not knowing anything official, just judging by the looks of the area and buildings already going up in there.

It is a gigantic project and will take a long time to complete. I’m really interested in seeing how the riverwalk/promenade turns out or if it was just used as eye candy to get tax breaks from the city. But the promenade is still showing on their website, hope they can get that built sooner than later, the renderings looks like something the KC metro doesn’t have at all

Random additional info - Unity Village itself is slowly turning into an office park. I just moved my business there in January, and several of their buildings are now fully renovated and rented out to other businesses.
Really great place to be, the grounds are beautiful and there's nice amenities like a gym, coffee shop, golf course, walking trails, etc. My office overlooks the huge courtyard and fountains that the buildings surround. Its awesome.
And the rent is like 30-40% cheaper than almost anywhere else in Lees Summit for office space.

Full disclosure, I work in Communications at Unity Village, so I have a few insights.
My understanding is that Discovery Park does have plans for Class A office space in the buildings currently under construction and also for future phases.
u/joeboo5150 , thanks for the shout-out! For anyone looking at office space now, the Unity Village campus still has space available. Here is a link for more info: https://www.unityvillage.org/office-leasing/

What is the current market for office space like this? I'd be interested in the percentage of these spaces actually occupied.
