New? It was released nine years ago and became the default in Fedora five years ago.

Theoretically speaking, since JACK existed about 15 years before PipeWire! With that logic, I meant new, Because it's not the default everywhere! Even though it's been so many years since its release. Of course, you'll tell me that each distribution might not have it for various reasons, but okay... that's kind of how I see it 👍

Arch does not really have a default software audio server

i3wm usually has only ALSA for audio

You're right, I agree about Arch! I'm currently running CachyOS on my PC, but it's different from a clean Arch installation. As you probably already know, it comes pre-configured out-of-the-box with a low-latency kernel. For me is one of the best Distros!
