default sound output

Is there a way to set a default for where my audio gets put out? it just swaps it around whenever I restart my PC.

(I'm sorry if this is a dumb question, I'm new to this)

Odd, only time I have this issue is when I plug in a PS5 controller. It contains a speaker and that plugging it in triggers it as the sound output  device. Otherwise the default is the last output selected. 

So is something newly connecting at bootup?
