Story My Love story (Teenage story time) I hope no one judges me😂
1st August was my first kiss
16th August was my second and the best date till now , both of us decided to meet in the morning because her parents were not in home i agreed , but when I left my home I realised that my cycle was punctured I wasted like 20 mins on trying to get my punctured cycle fixed but it needed a new tube which costs like 200 ofc that man was trying to scam me so i left, decided to go to Nehru Park in rapido and this was the best rapido ride ever the uncle was rrly good and was speaking a lot with me during the ride it was fun
When I reached Nehru Park i was late by 30 mins and she was waiting under the hot sun for so much time and when I came the anger and shy in her eyes was sooo sweet and scary😂
we met and we both sat in the same place where I proposed her.
On God That Day she was clinging and hugging and kissing me in the cheeks so much I loved it she even played with my hair for some time and I was also being touchy and touching her hands and thighs.
That day she was using my phone and i kept her birthday as my password she opened my WhatsApp and saw that I saved her father's number as "Maamaanar" this means father in law , she saw that and playfully slapped me for the first time 🥰 😂😂😂😂😆
There was a group of kids who came to us and one of them said "Anna uk that akka was waiting for u for so much time" I was like "ik da i was late by 30 mins and I got 1 &1/2 hrs of scolding from her" she slapped me for the second time and all the kids smiled and walked away 😂😂😂
She legit made sandwich for me and my GOD THAT SANDWICH WAS PERFECT
The veggies were cut so small and perfectly especially capsicum and the amount of sauce she used was rrly perfect I enjoyed the sandwhich so much
Actually 1 day before this date I was in hospital admitted for reaccuring typhoid I left the hospital and the next day I saw her . But my body and teeths were genuinely shaking I legit 100% couldn't control the shaking she was really worried Abt me and hugged ever tighter kissed me in the cheek and I rrly felt comfortable around her
When we were leaving in the lift of the metro she should go up and go to her home i was actually taking a detour to my train station (EMU) OFC i can walk an extra 1.5km just for her . Inside the lift when the lift started moving up i kissed her too tightly that my lips can feel her teeths 🥰😂😭 I legit stopped and said "stop biting me" and she put her arm around me "shut up idiot" and pulled me close and i kissed her once again .
The lift opened and there was a woman cleaning there good thing both of us stopped kissing when the lift reached 😂
31st August in our school nearby the Pt room there's a staircase which nobody uses it connects the chemistry) bio Lab,(previous , now used as a class for tamil)dance room and counselling room
In that staircase i asked her to kiss me and she just touched my lips with hers and just stopped and ran away 😂 . We both walked back to class separately so that no teachers would have suspicion
In class i said "u call that a kiss? U r really bad" she was like "yea yea I'm not a good kisser like, but would u teach me?" I nodded and our classes continued
1st September (today)(I rrly wanted her to join in the dance for teachers day but her mom refused so i too didn't joined the dance)
After the class i was stamping her shoes when no teacher were around and i kicked her shoe to the side and she was hoping to get her shoe and I was again trying to steal her shoe😂😂 all the girls and boys saw that
Man idk why I'm typing this down but i just really wanna write these memories of my life because I have fallen in love with these memories of my teenage life 🥰

Story Today I relearned just how beautiful Love is from a sketch
I loved someone. I loved her for years before my personal issues got between us. She was beautiful, kind, compassionate, loyal, just anything you could want in a woman. Since we split life has had its ups and downs and I’ve been trying hard to work on myself. If we ever try again I want to be the best version of myself for her.
Today during class I started sketching in my notebook. It always starts as a circle before I decide exactly what I’m doodling. Very quickly it turned into her. I remembered the way her jawline went into her chin. I remembered the distance between her chin and her lips. I remembered how her bangs split and went down the sides of her face. I remembered her cute button nose that fit perfectly on her face. I remembered her loving eyes and how they looked with her glasses. I even remembered the one dimple she had on the right side of her face. I captured her likeness very well without even looking at a photograph of her. I was impressed with myself. But I thought, “Is there anyone else I could do this with?” No. Not my mother. Not my father. Not anyone else I’ve ever loved. I could maybe draw something that kind of matched them but just not as well as this. I could only draw her with this detail without a picture.
I got to my car and I thought to myself. How beautiful is it to have known someone like that? To have looked at their face so closely and for so long to be able to remember every detail just by closing your eyes? How beautiful to imagine that in a world where photos didn’t exist, all I would need is a pen and paper to see the face of someone I love.
I sobbed. For the first time since we split, I sobbed not out of sadness, but out of gratitude and happiness and love. How beautiful to have loved someone this way. To have loved someone so much, that even if I never get a second chance with her, that love and gratitude will never die.
I will always love you.

question is it normal to be in love with someone you haven’t met yet?
hello i’m posting on here hoping to get some insight and not feel crazy lol. i’m a 22F and i met this man about 2 years ago. Since then we have facetimed, exchanged gifts, spent hours on the phone, discussed future plans with each other etc.
for some context, we are both muslim, and we don’t do dating. so instead we normally would just do an engagement marriage process where we can get to know one another then proceed with the wedding.
for personal reasons it’s been on and off.
anywho the issue is, i can’t help but feel insecure with how much i love him? i guess i feel embarrassed because everytime we’re not doing so well, it truly feels like a heartbreak. to think about ending things with him scares me because i keep thinking ill never love anyone the way i love him. i know he feels the same and we both want a future together. yet when i express my feelings to my mom or someone else they usually seem confused because we have not met yet. i definitely understand where they are coming from in a sense. It may be because i’ve never had feelings for a man before, especially at the age of 22 lmao. who knows.. lemme know if im crazy or being too much thanks guys.

Appreciation To be or not to be… just the right person at just the right time?
I’m not religious, and I always called BS on the idea that people who are meant to find each other will find each other.
But then I found my boyfriend.
There is genuinely no other way to describe it than fate. We met and were immediately—mutually—overcome by a profound feeling of love. We’re both writers and nerds who hold a fair bit of skepticism about the universe, so we stood terrified at the prospect of admitting that aloud so soon. We both agreed that Romeo and Juliet wasn’t a fair comparison; people always gloss over the TRAGEDY of it. We by that point had a wonderful rapport and series of running bits. Alas, I started one more:
“Is it fate or is it vaguely misappropriated Shakespeare?”
As the days went on, the big-fat-L-word-shaped elephant in the room grew larger. I suggested saying “Macbeth” instead;
You mustn’t say Macbeth in a theatre because bad luck. You mustn’t say the other thing so soon into a relationship, because also bad luck.
Something something vaguely misappropriated Shakespeare! That only lasted a few weeks before neither of us could stand it.
For what it’s worth, there are no words to describe how I feel when I think about how much I love him. There are no words to describe the way that he looks at me after I say something “clever,” in his words, inclined to respond, but devoid of words himself pulls me close to him instead.
The funniest thing about all of this, and what stumps us the most, is the understanding that if we met in any context OTHER than romance, there is no way in hell we would’ve ever been friends. We are fundamentally similar people with fundamentally similar lives, which means we’ve both lived as very independent people.
If we were classmates I imagine we would’ve interacted solely for the sake of trying to out-nerd each other. A worthy competition, and likely what would make us seem terribly annoying and overzealous to the other.
That’s neither here nor there, but I am so incredibly grateful that we met how we did. I am so grateful to find love, to be loved, and to bestow love, in this universe. I ponder the question of universes, and how the only way any of this could ever make sense was if this outcome happened, just as it was meant to, in every one.
Maybe it is fate AND vaguely misappropriated Shakespeare. Who knows? I do know for certain that I love my darling boy, configuration notwithstanding, very very much.

Love is My Boyfriend is so attentive it makes me feel so loved
So its a very small thing which has made me extremely happy and I didn’t have anyone to share this with hence I’m posting here.
So I have been dating my boyfriend for nearing 2 years now but we don’t live together, but visit often. Last night, I was painting my nails pastel green because it was a free nail polish I had received and wanted to use it and was showing him on video call. His response? “It looks really good but it doesn’t go with any of your outfits so why are you using this?” And I replied with “it was free and I wanted to use it” and he was very happy for me.
It sounded a bit negative but it made me think, he remembers all my outfits and all the colours I usually wear and even when buying me anything, makes sure it’s in the same colour scheme so he was confused why I would wear something which doesn’t go with my palette as it is not something I would do. It’s his attentiveness to my daily stuff including so many other things, which makes me feel so loved and honestly, I couldn’t ask for more.

Story Thoughts over a movie: The new exciting love vs the old boring love
I just saw a movie today. It was about love and I wanted to say something regarding what I saw in the movie and how today’s world is: it showed that the years spent together with someone cannot be replaced with the new exciting love. Life changes, situation changes and so do people change. It can be that in the moment you find someone, with whom you’re having the best of time and you like to be with them in the moment. You start taking this for love and forget your partner because their life got busier and they’ve started focusing more on their career. The new and exciting moments with someone blurs the past that you’ve built together with your partner. You want to try with them and see how it goes because you feel things are now not as exciting with your partner and they’re boring. You overlook the possibility that with new person, things might not go well later and then you’ll end up losing your partner and the new person both. You take the comfort around someone for boringness. Some people end up choosing the comfort because they get so used to it that they cannot think of their life without it, others take it for granted. Some choose the comfort because of stability and security, others perceive it as for feeling of remaining stuck with someone forever. Some people just continue to think they can always start over new and find someone better even if they end up losing partners.

🥂 Celebration 🎉 Just celebrated 12 years together and my heart couldn't be fuller
Me and my husband have been together for 12 years and narried for 2.5 of those wonderful years together. We recently celebrated our anniversary with a very wholesome homemade meal.
We have been together since we were 16. The classic friends to lovers story. We spent the day revisiting all the places we used to go to as teenagers. Went grocery shopping together. Listened to some amazing music and cooked together. We also have a cat that has made its position into our hearts in a way I can't explain. She is literally our baby. Honestly it still feels like we are those kids at heart and being with him feels so safe, calming and something out of a cozy novel. We moved into our first home after getting married and everyday since then feels like a sleepover that never has to end.
This is a home filled with laughter, emotions, endless thoughts that we constantly keep sharing with each other, endless love and of course the aroma of freshly brewed coffee (He is the official barista of our home). He is my best friend, my partner in literally everything and I've known no greater peace than his love, care, support. He just gets me and makes life worth living.
Over the years I have watched him grow into the most responsible, incredible and hard working man. I am so proud of him. He also helps me become the best version of my self everyday. I feel like I can just be my most authentic self while still navigating through this new chapter of our lives. I love being married to him and he constantly keeps reminding me how much he loves being married to me with all his silent acts of love. I keep falling more and more in love with him as each day passes.
Just wanted to share this amazing milestone here. I hope we get to live the rest of our lifetimes together till God decides we can't anymore. ♥️

Family My niece is so cute she gives me baby fever
I’m 23 and single but I’m very excited to one day have a wife and kids. I personally want 4 kids. I know I’m not ready to have them now as I’m far too early in my career and like I said I’m single, but still it’s my goal in life. But whenever I see my niece who’s a year old, I get crazy baby fever. She’s just so frickin cute and it’s awesome she was mainly attached to just her parents (My brother and his wife) up until recently but now she likes playing with me too and hanging out with me and whenever I make her laugh or hold her hand she’s just so cute. I love her so much! I’m a big family guy in general. Seeing my brother and sister in law with her too is so sweet and nice to see like seeing them be a family together makes me happy. I’m just super excited to one day be a dad I’m nervous of course and won’t happen for a decent amount of time but yeah. I’m rambling a bit but thanks for reading. Let me know if you have similar thoughts and sentiments!

Appreciation Rekindled lost love story inspired by another post & I also want to know yours- TELL ME EVERYTHING!
My heart feels especially full. I saw this OG post in this sub & wanted to share my reply & maybe get some more.
OP asked; "Has anyone lost their person, then found their way back to them?
_question_
Does anyone have a story where they actually moved on with life, and ended up back with their person? Like you weren't talking during your separation, dated/ married other people, accepted the breakup and moved away from i completely and life genuinely threw a curve ball? Does that actually happen, or is it really only people who remain friends? Going throuç something and I would love stories of hope to cling to. <3"
🤍Our story (quick edition)🤍
I have one, and it's a doozy. I can't promise this is how it always works out, but I am still waiting for it to be a dream myself...
For the purpose of telling my story, I'm gonna say 'soulmate' (not sure if I believe in the concept and it's not maybe the most romantic one ever- but there's definitely a F*CK ton of love) so here it goes;
I met soulmate in 2007?ish... Just friends, lots of drugs and partying. Then sometime around 2013, my very awful abusive ex & I moved in with my soulmate and his girlfriend. I realized then that I was immensely enamored with him, but I had a boyfriend, they a girlfriend, too. However we would stay up for hours just us 2, talking about everything. We hung out a ton. I became good friends with their girlfriend, "A' as well...
Eventually things got so bad with the abusive ex I moved out (one of multiple attempts to break up) and the soulmate and I sort of lost touch. We would share small messages on socials, and hang out randomly, but mainly disappeared again from each other's lives. Once my younger brother was in trouble while I was in a different state, I called the soulmate & A to ask for a favor. I was living in a different state at the time- to help him get a car out of impound. The soulmate answered instead of A, which was unusual.
They picked up my bro, took them to get the car & paid for it. I was SO grateful because my abuser was going to let me have it for my brother's stupid choices. Then the soulmate separated from "A" and I stayed in touch with A, on a fairly regular basis.
In 2017, I made the final break from the abuser, and upon A's prompting (A had moved out of state and was hoping to help me reconnect with friends), hit up the soulmate. We hung out 2 times, before they became 2 dates, that became a serious relationship, that became an engagement, and baby, a and marriage. All in a year. I lost A as a friend. I didn't know A still had feelings for them & I felt awful about it. But the love was so strong and undeniable- and apparently had been mutual for much longer than either of us could admit because we were committed to other people... We couldn't not be together.
Then unfortunately, the substances & outside family members got involved & everyone was on a campaign to see the marriage fail and fail it did! Spectacularly. But there was still a baby, so ensued one of the most acrimonious custody battles of the century. We HATED each other. (VERY VERY thin line been love & hate) Soulmate got remarried to someone new, completely unrelated to our past, & me & the now toddler moved away to another neighboring state.
The toddler grew into a kiddo and started asking questions about their dad. Then they asked if they could reconnect with their missing dad. I felt begrudgingly obligated to ensure my child felt like he knew his whole family & roots.
I arranged a visit, and then after another month, another visit. & Both times our child was irritated that they weren't the sole focus, and then we were texting about our child. After the 2nd visit we hugged what we thought would be a friendly hug, but it was not. It lingered FAR too long to be friendly and just a little too close.
Then they got silent for a couple of weeks and isolation & despair quickly made it's home back in my heart where it had never left. I made one final attempt to connect with him, which was when I got the email that he hadn't been calling or texting because he was dealing with the fact his second marriage had fallen apart. They were still very interested in maintaining the relationship with the kiddo, and 'hey if it's okay can we just chat on the phone?'
After a week of 3-4 hour late night phone calls, he asked "is there ANY reality where it's possible we could be together again? I've had a lot of time to think about it and if I had to walk on broken glass, through fire to get you both back, I would." To which I replied, "absolutely. But it's gonna take a lot of work... X, Y & Z would have to change & we need A, B & C". The next day he called. They said "Out of curiosity, what would you do if I just showed up at your door one day?" I replied, "I would be happy to see you, obviously! I would give you the longest hug ever" and then he slyly chuckled "oh that's a relief, because I am only about 2½ hours away..."
Then he was home again. Like they had never ever left, and we hadn't ever been apart. We did what we always had. Staying up all night cuddling, laughing and talking about everything and nothing. After 7 years of court room drama, ruthless fighting, and radio silence from each other- it took 2 visits, (3) 3-4 phone calls & a lot of late night talks to undue all the lashing out over 7 years and we're engaged (again). We've been back together for 15 months.
It was OVER. If you had asked either one of us if we were friends, you would have heard some dark murder plots and plans for the other... The soulmate was remarried! Owned a home, and had helped raised their step kids for 4 years. If you would've told me I would have laughed at you like you were the dumbest person on the planet.
This is my person. It never seems to matter how bad it gets, when our backs are to the wall, we're automatically acting in tandem. We're a team. I don't know how we got here & I don't know how we have stayed so close when we have spent so much of our lives separated by circumstance...
I don't know, there's the soul mate theory, the red string theory... All I know is that neither of us have tried to force anything. For the first time though, we have decided to take the reigns & be the masters of our own destiny...
I love him more than I could ever possibly put into words. He is my heart existing outside of my body. I would actually die for them. & I am pretty sure they would do the same.
I truly wish the same for you and everyone else. Everyone deserves to find their person and go through life with them.
I hope you find your way to them, whoever it is..."
I really do. Whether it's that person you've known for 2 decades, or 2 weeks- I TRULY hope you find your love. It's hard & messy. And no, not all of it feels like a movie, BUT- it's real. & It's meant for everyone. It may feel like you've been waiting for EVER and you've given up on it. Don't.
It's worth the headache, messiness, etc...
Be well my friends, and drop your story, no matter how, you found THEM.
🤍

Love is As I greeted my boyfriend with a long tight hug, "8 Days a Week" happened to be playing
I was greeting him at my place. The lyrics "Hold me, love me, hold me, love me" specifically were playing as the hug started. It was a tight, passionate hug, and I couldn't think of a better song to be playing at the time, and he agreed. It lasted between 30 seconds to a minute.
I would also like to mention that I was named after a Beatles song, and so was my mom, and now my daughter (but I'm not saying which ones for privacy reasons). I've been listening to the Beatles since I was a kid, and especially that song. It made it feel almost even more personal.
Now I think of this moment every time I listen to 8 Days a Week.
Love is I believe some people are destined to find each other again
I have this strange faith when it comes to love
I believe that sometimes two people are meant to find each other even if they don’t recognize it the first time
Maybe you meet someone when the timing is completely wrong. Maybe you barely notice them. Maybe you feel something around them, but you don’t understand what that feeling is... Is it love? Attraction? Attachment? Anger? Curiosity? You just know there is something there something deeper than you can explain!
And sometimes you let that person go
Maybe you break up, Maybe life separates you, Maybe nothing even happens between you because neither of you realizes what that connection means yet
But I believe that if something is truly meant to happen between two people, life has a strange way of bringing them back together
What fascinates me even more is the idea that you could meet the person you’re eventually going to love long before you actually fall in love with them.. Maybe you’ve already walked past them, Maybe you’ve spoken once and forgotten about it, Maybe they were just another face in the room
Then years later.. you meet again! And this time, something is different... You see them.
Maybe that’s what destiny in love means to me. Not that everything happens perfectly or that every breakup means two people will eventually reunite. I just believe that some connections arrive before we’re ready to understand them
Maybe certain people enter our lives more than once because the first meeting wasn’t supposed to be the whole story
I don’t know if that’s destiny, coincidence, or simply the way we give meaning to love but I like believing that sometimes letting someone go doesn’t necessarily mean you’ve seen them for the last time
Do you believe 2 people can be destined to find each other again even if they didn’t recognize what they had the first time? Also if you have story we gonna happy to share it with us!

Story How I met your mother my version. This is a true story that happened to me. For all people who would say I made it up or not real ! I don't really know how to prove it. This is what actually happened.
To begin with, when I think about it now, it still feels a little crazy how one completely ordinary morning could eventually lead to the life I have today.
Back then, my life was honestly quite boring.
It was basically work, video games, TV series, anime, sleep and repeat.
I wasn't really dating anyone, and I wasn't actively looking for a girlfriend. My schedule was too busy for that anyway. I had my regular job, and at that time I was also doing part-time work, so even when I technically had some free time, it was difficult to find enough time to actually date someone and maintain a relationship.
So I wasn't going out thinking, Maybe today I'll meet someone.
Quite the opposite.
I was perfectly comfortable with my routine.
One day, after finishing another night shift, I was walking toward public transport to go home. My plan was simple: get home, sleep for a few hours, and then go back to work again that same evening.
Nothing special.
Just another day.
As I was walking, I noticed a young woman sitting on the pavement farther down the street.
There were people walking past her, but nobody seemed to be paying attention.
As I got closer, I could see her properly.
She was young, blonde, slightly chubby, with beautiful eyes. She was sitting on the ground crying, with tears running down her face and dark mascara smeared across her cheeks. Her clothes were dirty and looked like she had been out all night.
My first assumption was that she was probably drunk after a long night of partying.
And honestly, I understood why people were ignoring her. In that city, especially early in the morning, seeing drunk or intoxicated people wasn't exactly unusual.
So I decided to avoid getting involved too.
I crossed to the other side of the street and continued walking.
At the time, my local language wasn't very good either, so I really didn't want to get into a complicated situation when I was already exhausted.
But as I was turning around the corner, I heard someone calling after me.
It was her.
She was speaking to me in the local language, asking for help. I couldn't understand everything she was saying.
I kept walking.
Then she switched to English.
"Please... I just need internet. Or a phone."
I walked a little farther.
Then I stopped.
I don't know exactly why, but something inside me just didn't let me continue.
My conscience was bothering me.
I kept thinking, What if she really needs help?
So I turned around and walked back.
I asked her what had happened.
She was crying and struggling to explain everything, but eventually I understood the situation.
She said she had been at a club and that someone had stolen her phone, wallet and money.
She still had her purse, but there wasn't much inside—some makeup, a few pills and personal things.
She desperately needed internet access because she wanted to try to locate her phone.
She tried logging into her account, but the password wasn't working.
I told her, "Okay, forget about that for now. Try calling your family."
She tried calling her grandmother.
Nobody answered.
She tried again.
Still nothing.
She was crying the whole time and kept apologizing, saying she was sorry and that she didn't want any of this to happen.
She also told me that she had gone to the police, but because she was intoxicated, they eventually sent her away.
At that point, I didn't really know what else to do.
She was clearly drunk, but she was also clearly vulnerable and alone.
So I told her, "Before I go home, I'll get you a ride."
She immediately said no.
"No, it's too expensive. I don't have any money."
I told her not to worry about it.
She kept refusing, but I insisted.
Eventually she agreed.
She gave me her address, and I booked an Uber for her.
The driver arrived.
But when he saw her, he cancelled the ride.
He said he was worried that she might vomit in his car.
I tried explaining that she had probably already been sick earlier and that she wasn't going to cause a problem, but he wasn't interested.
So I ordered another one.
Unfortunately, the second driver also refused.
He said he would take her only if I went with her.
That wasn't really possible. I lived in another part of the city, and I had just finished my night shift. I needed to get home.
So that ride was cancelled too.
At that point I thought, Okay, what now?
There was a car-sharing service nearby where you could rent a car through an app and pay according to how long you used it. It was cheaper than taking an Uber anyway.
The problem was that the nearest car was about half a kilometre away.
I looked at her and asked, "Do you trust me enough to let me take you home?"
She said yes.
I asked her if she could walk there.
She said she could, although she told me that I really shouldn't have to do all this for her.
I told her it was okay.
So we walked together to the car.
I unlocked it through the app, started the rental and drove her home.
During the drive, we finally had a chance to talk properly.
She asked me my name and where I was from.
Then she started telling me about herself.
And that's when I realized there was much more going on than just one bad night.
She told me she had a problem with drugs, including cocaine.
Her father had died years earlier.
Her mother was an alcoholic and had a lot of different relationships, constantly bringing different men into the house.
Eventually, she couldn't handle the situation anymore and went to live with her grandmother.
As she was telling me all of this, I started feeling genuinely sorry for her.
I wasn't looking at her anymore as "that drunk girl from the street."
I was looking at someone who had clearly been struggling with addiction, family problems and probably a lot of emotional issues for years.
I tried to give her some advice.
I told her that getting out of that situation wasn't going to be easy, and that I couldn't magically fix anything for her. But if she genuinely wanted to change, she needed to get help, find some motivation and start taking care of herself.
I don't know how much of that conversation she actually remembered.
She was drunk, exhausted and emotionally overwhelmed.
But I said what I felt needed to be said.
And honestly, while I was driving her home, I remember thinking about my own life.
I thought, Thank God for everything I have.
Sometimes you don't realize how fortunate you are until you meet someone whose life has taken such a completely different direction.
When we arrived at her home, she thanked me again.
She asked for my phone number.
But I didn't give it to her.
It wasn't because I didn't like her or anything like that. I simply didn't think there was any reason for us to stay in contact.
She didn't even have a phone anymore.
And I certainly wasn't helping her because I expected anything back.
I didn't care about the money I had spent on the rides or the car.
Before I left, I asked her to promise me one thing.
"Just look after yourself. Try to do better."
She promised.
I said goodbye and went home.
And that was it.
At least, that's what I thought.
I honestly never expected to see her again.
Life went back to normal.
Work.
Part-time work.
Video games.
Series.
Anime.
Sleep.
Repeat.
Then, about a year and a half later, something happened that I really didn't expect.
I was at work when one of my colleagues came over to me.
"Hey, there's someone outside asking for you."
I asked, "Who?"
He said he didn't know. She had simply told him she was looking for me.
I went outside.
There was a young woman standing there.
She smiled and said hello.
I looked at her and, honestly, I had no idea who she was.
She looked vaguely familiar, but I couldn't place her.
Then she started explaining.
She reminded me about a morning a long time ago when she had been drunk, had been robbed, didn't have her phone or money, and a stranger had helped her get home.
And suddenly it clicked.
"Ohhh... yeah, yeah! I remember you!"
It was her.
The same girl.
But she looked slightly different, which was why I hadn't recognized her immediately.
She was clean, healthier, had lost some weight and just looked completely different from the person I had seen sitting on the pavement that morning.
I was genuinely surprised.
She told me she had been looking for me for a long time.
She wanted to thank me.
She explained that after that night, she eventually went into rehab.
She got clean.
She stopped drinking.
She stopped partying.
She started going to the gym and reading.
And, most importantly, she had started rebuilding her life.
She was now working as a junior HR employee.
I was honestly incredibly happy for her.
I told her, "You don't have to thank me. I'm just happy to see you doing well."
But she insisted on giving me €50.
I refused at first.
I told her there was no need.
But she insisted so much that eventually I accepted it.
Then she laughed and said something like:
"Now I have a phone. And I lost the old one and never found it. This time, I want your number."
This time, I gave it to her.
Still, I didn't think anything would come from it.
We started texting occasionally.
Then we started talking more.
Eventually, we went for coffee.
Then lunch.
Then dinner.
We started going to the gym together whenever our schedules allowed it.
And slowly, without either of us really planning it, we became closer.
What started as me helping a complete stranger get home safely eventually became a friendship.
That friendship became something more.
We started dating.
Later, we got engaged.
And eventually, we got married.
And now, 10 years later, we're still married.
We have two children.
We have our problems like every couple does, but we're happy, and we built a family together.
Sometimes I still think about how strange the whole thing is.
Back then, I wasn't looking for a girlfriend.
I didn't even have much time for dating.
I was just a tired guy coming home from a night shift, thinking about getting some sleep before going back to work.
And there she was.
I almost walked past her.
Actually, I did walk past her.
I only turned around because something inside me told me I shouldn't.
If I had kept walking, I wouldn't have met her.
I wouldn't have known her story.
She wouldn't have had my help that morning.
And, most importantly, we probably would never have met again.
I thought I was just helping someone get home safely.
I had absolutely no idea that one and a half years later, that same stranger would walk into my workplace looking for me—and that eventually, she would become my wife.
So yeah...
That's my version of How I Met Your Mother.
No dating app.
No romantic first meeting.
No plan.
Just one exhausted guy, one very bad morning, two cancelled rides, a car-sharing app...
and one decision to turn around.
And somehow, that decision changed both of our lives.

Story The day I realised how badly my girlfriend wanted me to succeed
Back in my college days, I had one of those moments that, even years later, still makes me realise how much my wife—my girlfriend back then—wanted me to succeed.
I was in the third year of my bachelor’s degree. Academically, I wasn’t exactly the most serious student. I considered myself a college stud who was more interested in hanging out with friends, having fun and getting into all sorts of trouble on campus.
But there was one particular subject she was extremely serious about me passing.
The professor teaching it was notoriously tough. And, unfortunately, he already had a reason to dislike me. He was somewhat of a disciple of my future father-in-law and had previously gotten us into trouble by telling him about our relationship. So my girlfriend knew that if I failed his subject, I would have to extend my semester—and she genuinely believed the professor might use his biases against me.
She practically forced me to take the subject seriously.
So, for once, I listened.
I attended the classes, studied properly and actually went into the exam prepared.
Back then, results were still posted on the department notice board. No internet, no online portals—you literally had to go and check the board yourself.
When the results were published, my marks were written in a rather unfortunate way. It looked like 2½/30.
My girlfriend saw it before I did.
She called me while I was playing some game with my friends and absolutely lost it.
She started yelling at me, asking how I could have messed this up when she had spent so much time telling me to take the subject seriously.
I knew she almost never yelled. Maybe once a year. So I immediately knew this was serious.
I rushed to the department.
Honestly, I wasn’t even worried about my marks. I assumed the professor had messed with my grades again, as most of the professors had done before.
What mattered to me was that she was genuinely distressed.
I looked at the notice board and then went straight to the professor.
“Why is my mark written as 2½?”
He looked at me and said, “That’s 21½ out of 30.”
I had scored 21.5/30.
I was the second-highest scorer in the subject.
The person who had scored the highest?
My girlfriend.
I walked out of the department and, for reasons that I still can’t explain, decided to pull the cruelest prank possible.
I pretended that I had actually failed.
For the next five minutes, we walked along the campus road while she cried and kept telling me, “How could you mess this up when the entire world is already trying to do the same?”
She kept saying how disappointed she was in me.
And then, after letting it go on for a while, I finally told her:
“Actually… it’s 21½.”
The transformation was instant.
She started laughing and crying at the same time—and then started hitting me, asking how dare I scare her like that.
I’d rarely seen her express so many emotions at once.
She was also extremely cautious about even kissing me on campus. This was India, after all, and we were very conscious of people around us.
But that day, she didn’t care.
She hugged me as tightly as she could, kissed me and said:
“I am so proud of you. I’m so awestruck by you.”
And I think what made that moment so special wasn’t really the marks.
It was the fact that she had believed in a side of me that I wasn’t even taking seriously myself.
I was probably in the bottom 10 of my class overall. Yet, when it mattered, I ended up among the top scorers in one of the toughest subjects—not because I suddenly became a brilliant student, but because she wanted me to succeed badly enough to make me believe I could.
Looking back, these are the moments I remember most about our relationship.
Just these tiny, almost insignificant moments where someone quietly stood behind me, believed in me, worried about me and celebrated my little victories as if they were her own.
We’ve been together for many years now, and I still remember that walk on the campus road.
Some memories just stay with you.
And every time I remember this one, my heart feels a little fuller.

Story My boyfriend sent me flowers for my birthday, but we are in two different countries
My boyfriend is from Moldova 🇲🇩 and he sent me a bouquet of roses for my birthday. Right now I am in Egypt with my family and he’s in Italy; he loves buying stuff for me, but I am still not used to it at all, so it’s always a surprise. He arranged it all by himself, called and emailed my hotel, chose the bouquet, asked for it to be delivered by hand on my birthday and organized a beautiful surprise right at my door. These roses are full of love. I am not allowed to bring them with me in Italy because of airport rules, it breaks my heart having to leave them here… so I’m sharing this story everywhere and however I can. 🌹

Appreciation I have been struggling HARD, so my husband came over, cleaned my kitchen, stocked my fridge, and meal prepped. He is the best.
Life has been hard lately, depression has been kicking ass. I moved recently for a new job and I have been struggling so hard to just keep my life together outside of work, which includes keeping my home clean.
My husband has been a rock through all of this. He is so supportive, loving and kind. What he did for me today absolutely takes the cake tho.
I came home after an exhausting day at work, walked into my kitchen and started crying, because it was spotless. My husband came over while I was at the office and cleaned my kitchen. Not just that, he went shopping, stocked my cupboards and fridge, and cooked a bunch of meals for me to heat up at home and at the office.
He is literally the best person to ever walk this earth. I love him so much.

Love is My husband has is so good at the little things!
It seems like people think that grand gestures are where it’s at. Sure, those are nice, but I am finding that it’s really in the small things.
Recently I celebrated my 56th birthday. We went on vacation the week before and spent a wonderful 5 nights in Driftless Wisconsin and Iowa. This included a wonderful dinner cruise on the Mississippi River. I told him how perfect it would be for my birthday dinner! (We would have done it anyway! lol) When we boarded the boat and escorted to our table for dinner, I discovered that he arranged to have a birthday balloon presented at my seat! I was so impressed that I got choked up. It was such a small gesture but he just wanted me to know that he was thinking about me! Then he danced with me, not for just one song, but a couple. He has some mobility issues, so this was an even bigger deal to me! He even admits that he isn’t the best “gift giver” but he always enjoys having me pick something out that I like! This year, again while on our trip, he bought me a peacock motif teacup at the gift shop at the Villa Louis estate. It’s awesome!
To top it off, the Monday after we got back from our trip he got our adult children together and cooked burgers for all of us at our daughter’s house. All I wanted on my actual birthday was to be with our family for dinner. It was during the week and we didn’t want to spend the money going out! But He and our kids made it happen! Again, it was just burgers at my daughter’s house and I got to hang out with my 2 year old granddaughter!
🥂 Celebration 🎉 I found love on Reddit and now we are engaged!
I was lost and alone. Being autistic and shy, it was hard making friends. I did something that was bold, especially for myself….I posted in a subreddit looking for a friend. He answered.
I was nervous! We took a chance on each other. Moving off Reddit to texting any chance we got. Playing 21 questions to get to really know each other lol. To finally meeting and being inseparable. I found my person.
We have been through 7 years. Plenty of ups and certainly our downs but never giving up on each other and our love.
A couple of days ago, on exactly our 7 year anniversary, he proposed! I am now the fiancée to the best guy ever! I can’t wait to see where this next chapter of life takes us. Having him by my side is everything. I am not alone anymore.
Thank you, Reddit for helping me find my best friend and future husband.

Appreciation I've [45f] never felt this way about a man [41m] before, at our big ages, and it's wonderful
He gives me some of absolutely everything he gets, even when he has nothing, even something gifted to him. He's deeply generous and kind to people others look down on, even when no one is watching. It's just who he is.
He's constantly trying to strive for more, improve himself for the sake and love of it and to improve his circumstances. He believes in duty and family. He loves his children. He will never abandon them like his father did to him.
He performs gentle surgery and spends hours plucking poison thorns from my skin. He holds me and asks after my emotions, he cares about my well being as a matter of course and keeps doing so over the years. After so many years, the love and passion for each other still hasn't even begun to fade
He once climbed into a hospital bed with me, where we lay wrapped in each other's limbs, whispering about life and death while I was most weak and in pain, and while his father lay dying in the floors below. We healed each other, each vulnerable in a different way. He ran up the flights of stairs as fast as he could to make it before visiting hours ended. He appeared before me out of breath, almost desperate to reach me. I am important to him.
He once picked me up and carried me, bridal-style, the length of a football pitch down a flooded corridor to carry me safely into his home. He didn't think twice about it, he just did it. He also once set off on foot across the island the moment he knew I was in danger so that he could get to me. He protects me, no matter what. He loves me. I can count on that and him, always.
He expresses his sexuality in an electric and highly present way. He creates a safe space that allows me to explore and express mine, and together we create something in a joyful, moving, loving, holy, sexy, playful, and profound communion.
He's well loved in the community that he constantly participates in building. He's admired, respected. He's dedicated his life and career to protecting people and making the world a better place. He's humble, but also a hero. He's playful, quick-witted, and clever. Always making someone laugh. His smile is mischievous and his eyes sparkle with life and vitality.
He's constant and good and devastatingly handsome and kind. He cares so deeply and contains artistic and intellectual depths. His moral compass is measured, solid, and sound. My father would have loved him. He is the very measure of A Man.
I love him completely. I want everything good for him in this life. Someday I will marry him. I want to grow old and die with him. I will love him forever.

Appreciation My BF Does the Cutest Thing When I Work Early Mornings
When my boyfriend makes my bed, he always arranges my stuffed animals to hug each other like they are friends 🥹
I work very early, usually starting at 6 am, and he knows how hard it is for me to leave him sleeping in my bed while I go to work. I know it is so little, but it genuinely makes me so happy and gets me choked up everytime I come home.
