Public Service Announcement Wero

Moien, just installed it on my phone. Very straight forward process and it accepts both BCEE and BIL accounts. The application very minimalistic but as long as it gets the job done I’m okay with it. First it was digicash, then Payconiq, and now Wero. Hopefully we agree on the last one and they make it versatile to a point where she sky is the limit.

Merci.

Ask Luxembourg Transfer to Frankfurt Airport

I’m looking for options to get to Frankfurt airport via car/shuttle. I have 2 cats and I prefer not to have 2 flight connections. I was ideally looking for a pet taxi service but wasn’t sure which ones were reputable. But any recommendations on options would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Ask Luxembourg Looking for a guy I spoke to at Lorde concert tonight - probably working for the Merchandising stand

Upvotes

Hi everyone.

I’m looking for a guy (probably around 30) who seemed to be working for the merchandising stand at Rockhal tonight.
He is around 180 cm, blondish, was having a hat hanging from his belt, an old iPhone, long trousers and wearing a watch. He is a smoker.

He was mostly standing out of the concert hall but came in at the very end and was standing close to the doors.

He came close to me at the end of the concert, we were looking at each other and he was standing next to me. When the concert was over I asked my friend “do you think it is over now?” And he replied “yes I think it is”.

We smiled at each other and then people started going out and I completely lost him.

If you think you know him, let him have this message. 😊

Activities & Events Looking for a genuine Buddhist Temple/Sangha

After relocating, I am looking for a local Buddhist temple/community, but kinda struggling to find a genuine one.

It’s very different than back in Asia, as it looks like it’s more of a business here. Even just meditation sessions are expensive (to give some context to non-buddhists, an equivalent would be making Christian pay to attend church on Sunday).

I understand temples might have to pay high rentt, but not giving ANY way to practice for free restrict the audience, is elitist, and is a business model that would go against Buddhist principles and would match more a woo woo New Age initiative than a Buddhist one.

So after extensive and exhausting internet searches, i decided to ask here. I wonder if there are any genuine Buddhist communities that you know of.

Thank you in advance, friends 🙏
I wish you a good day ☀️

Ask Luxembourg A massage as a gift for my boyfriend’s parents

Hello!

I would like to offer a massage to my boyfriend's parents as a thank you for taking care of me. The problem is they work a lot and whenever I spend time at their home, it looks like they're never here. I don't want to ask directly what is their schedule, it would be unusual and suspicious lol.

Once I saw an ad on TikTok about a SPA that had the option to offer a massage session (alone or in couple) and people could use whenever they want, I forgot the name tho. So yeah, basically I want them to relax without setting an appointment for them cause I don't know when they have free time. I already gifted last year a 2 days hotel with these Wonderbox and I rlly like the concept but I heard they kinda suck, dont know if its true haha

We live near Petange by the way :)

Ask Luxembourg 37, former Amazon Senior Program Manager — is a pivot into Luxembourg finance realistic?

Hi r/Luxembourg 👋

I’m 37, American, permanently based in Luxembourg with full labour-market access, and considering a move into financial services.

My background:
● Nearly 10 years at Amazon, including several years in Luxembourg, most recently as a Senior Program Manager
● Two bachelor’s degrees
● Extensive experience in program and project management, operations, process improvement, and cross-functional stakeholder management
● Hands-on bookkeeping, budgeting, and small-business finance experience
● Currently involved in running a Luxembourg business
● Native English speaker; French is still a work in progress 😅

I’m not expecting a few finance courses to turn me into a fund specialist overnight. My aim is to build on my existing experience and move into a role where finance knowledge complements my strengths.

I’m exploring House of Training courses in investment funds, UCIs, banking, cash management, and Luxembourg’s financial sector. I’m also open to more substantial certifications if employers genuinely value them.

For those working in Luxembourg finance:

Where would you place your bet on someone with my profile?
● Funds or asset servicing?
● ManCo or banking?
● Fintech?
● Big Four or consulting?
● Transformation, operations, or project roles within financial institutions?
● Something else?
I’d especially value advice on:
● Which roles would genuinely value my Amazon and program-management background
● Where a mid-career transition is realistic
● Which technical skills or certifications are worth prioritizing
● What I should avoid wasting time or money on

I’m not looking to restart as a graduate analyst. I’m trying to find the strongest overlap between what I already do well and what Luxembourg’s financial sector needs, then close the technical gap.

If you’ve made a similar career switch—or regularly hire people making one—I’d appreciate your candid view.

Is this a realistic strategy? If so, where would you target first? 🇱🇺

Ask Luxembourg Why are car insurance so expensive in Lux?

I have imported a used car from France to Luxembourg. And for the same car, insurance price went from 700 EUR (Fr) to 1700 Eur (Lux)!?

Contract conditions are similar and I have maximum bonus (experienced driver, no accident during the last 15 years). And I already enjoy some discounts as my wife and I have contracted with the same company for the second car and our home insurance.

Any idea what's wrong? And is there a solution to pay a reasonable price?

« CUSTOM » Luxair Using Danish Air Transport (DAT)

I just got this message from Luxair. This "airline" gets some pretty bad reviews. Has anyone had this experience. and how was it?

We would like to inform you that, due to operational reasons, your upcoming flight LG661 to AGP on 02 Sep [2026](tel:2026) will be operated by our partner airline Danish Air Transport (DAT) on behalf of Luxair.

Although the aircraft will be operated by DAT, you can be assured that your journey will continue to meet the high standards of service, comfort and care you expect from Luxair. Your booking and travel conditions remain unchanged.
Thank you for your trust. We look forward to welcoming you on board.

Kind regards,
Your Luxair team

The organisers of the Schueberfouer have allowed a ciggerate booth at the prime location near the entry in the Schueberfouer. This stand says "Now or Never" to promote tobacco consumption and smoking. The fair is attended by many children and youth who are being exposed this message.
