Bottom 5 Scoring Submissions of the week from r/Custommagic 9/1/2025
Hello everyone, welcome to Bottom Five! Juggernaut can't be blocked by walls of text. Let's get to it!
Note: Please do not go and harass the creators of these cards as it's fairly obvious when something from five days ago gets linked here and then starts getting comments that it's not natural traffic and it can fall afoul of Reddit's brigading rules.
This week's album.
Dishonorable Mentions:
You can find last week's thread here and the Top 5 submissions here (gone and done forever?).

[BUG] Opponents just put a permanent onto the battlefield while I was casting a spell?
I've submitted a report about it already to WOTC, but I can't find any details online or if anyone else has experienced this. twice now in as many days i've run into players who cast some REAL BS during my turn that should not be possible.
Board state is turn 3. Opponent has a Gilded Goose, a forest and mountain, plays a many partings to tap the forest and create a second food. So I am casting my Omega, Heartless Evolution. He has 1 open red mana, an untapped goose, and 2 foods. INBETWEEN MY CARD HITTING THE FIELD AND THE "target up to one nonland perm an opponent controls" GOING ON THE STACK. AGAIN THIS IS BEFORE ITS "WHEN IT ENTERS" ABILITY EVEN GETS ON THE STACK, HE PLAYS AN UMBRASK'S FORGE.
Litterally wtf. No umbrasks forge on field and he DOES NOT HAVE THE MANA TO CAST IT when the omega leave my hand to go on the battlefield, but before its enters effect can even trigger, which correct me if i'm wrong, but the opponent can't even cast instants or interactions during that period right? It's not a "when you cast" where they can interrupt before it hits the field. "when it enters" effects are immediate on entry and nothing should be able to happen between it entering and the effect going on the stack right? But somehow, they are playing cards for free inbetween my cards entering and its entry effect going on the stack.
Also I cast Show and Tell to play Omega and didn't read it.
Is this a known bug and i'm just an idiot who can't find it?

I hate Ouroboroid.
Not in that harmless âoh, this card is a little too strongâ kind of way. No. I hate this piece of botanical design disaster with the intense loathing of someone who has just realized that four mana is apparently enough these days to turn basic arithmetic against him.
There it is.
1/3.
Looks completely innocent. Almost cute. As if someone accidentally printed a draft uncommon as a mythic.
And then combat begins.
âOh, by the way: +1/+1 to EVERYTHING.â
Okay.
Next combat:
âNow +2/+2 to EVERYTHING.â
Then +4.
Then +8.
At that point, you might as well stop counting life points and just grab a calculator.
The genius of it is this completely insane discrepancy between whatâs on the board and what it turns into one turn later. Youâve got three mediocre green creatures hanging around, your opponent plays Ouroboroid, and suddenly you know: This collection of biological scraps is going to be the Avengers in about 45 seconds.
And of course, then comes the classic line:
âYou just have to remove it.â
Oh, come on.
Thanks.
Why didnât I think of that myself?
Thatâs always the hallmark of particularly enjoyable Magic cards: As soon as itâs on the field, the complex strategy game with thousands of possible cards turns into an exciting multiple-choice question:
Do you have instant-speed removal?
A) Yes
B) No, then fuck you.
And even when it comes to removal, Ouroboroid is still thinking, âItâd be a shame if my trigger were already on the stack.â
Because when you finally shoot that damn thing after its ability has triggered, the game just takes its last known power and distributes the counters anyway.
Of course.
After all, why should killing a creature mean it stops pissing me off?
That would obviously be way too intuitive.
The whole mess got especially absurd with Badgermole Cub. Turn 3: Ouroboroid, blow up the board, and on turn 4, you watch your opponent turn a couple of mana dork into creatures whose power/toughness look more like German ZIP codes.
And then comes this wonderful argument:
âBut Ouroboroid dies to removal, right?â
Yeah.
Creatures die to removal.
Groundbreaking insight.
By the same logic, a house fire is no big deal because fire departments exist.
The problem isnât that Ouroboroid is indestructible. The problem is that the card causes the game to escalate so rapidly that you have to react practically immediately. A single unanswered trigger can already be unpleasant. Two are catastrophic. Three arenât a board state anymoreâtheyâre a natural disaster with +1/+1 counters.
And woe betide you if there are multiple Ouroboroids on the board.
Then you get to watch live as Magic briefly stops being a card game and instead puts on an eighth-grade demonstration of exponential growth.
The truly insulting thing about it is: Ouroboroid doesnât even require any particularly clever maneuvers.
No complicated combo puzzle.
No five cards.
No brilliant sequencing moment.
It just sits there and says:
âWhat if your entire board gets absurdly bigger every time and I make sure it gets even more absurd next time?â
A card whose win condition essentially is:
âI hope you have removal right now.â
Great.
Interactivity.
But Iâll give Ouroboroid one thing:
It embodies its name perfectly.
Because just like the Ouroboros, it eats its own tail.
Only it grows by 100 percent every single damn time, buffs its entire family in the process, and then devours your board state as well.
I donât want to counter this thing.
I donât want to exile it.
I donât want to develop sideboard strategies against it.
I want a highly motivated landscape gardener to show up somewhere on Dominaria, dig up this weed, salt the planet, and then promise Wizards that âexponential growth on every creatureâ might not necessarily have to be on a four-mana creature.
Is Ouroboroid actually ban-worthy today without Badgermole Cub?
Probably not.
Is it still a brilliantly constructed machine for generating irrational rage?
Absolutely.
And for that, I hate this damn plant snake with all my heart.

Is it weird to go alone?
Im very new to euchre and I've just learned the basics of play, I have some Bicycle decks and I'd like to start playing but none of my partners are into winning four points. So my question is how weird is it for me 40+ year old to go to play a hand by myself with the hope of somone not having a bauer and potentially making some buddies along the way..
