Vanity/Makeup Desk Help for a future husband!

Hello! As a wedding gift I’m looking to buy a makeup vanity for my soon-to-be wife but I know absolutely nothing about vanities and the facts vs fictions about what is best and what is overrated. Budget aside, is there any advice on what I should look to buy or what I should value more when sorting through options? Thank you all so much in advance and I really appreciate all your help in surprising her for our special day. Thanks!

Lots of drawers for organization as well as a lighted mirror! Preferably one that has settings for brightness and light warmth

A lighted mirror that is bright enough to do makeup in a completely black room (aka night). Etoile make vertical and horizontal versions (their Crystal versions). Best thing I ever bought in my 50’s and wish I’d had it most of my life.

Etoile’s drawer sets are also excellent as the whole drawer comes forward so you can access the part at the back. (Many brands don’t invest in the full length extension rails so the last third or quarter of the drawer becomes largely inaccessible.)

Best personal investment I ever made on the beauty front.

Etoile is a fantastic brand, expensive but well made and customer service is excellent

Agree on customer service. I ordered a glass top beauty desk and the glass arrived smashed due to the courier. No issues with getting money back - they were prompt. They didn’t have any more in stock at the time which is why I ended up being refunded.

I agree that the full extension drawers are a wonderful feature.

More importantly, I just want to tell you what a wonderfully thoughtful gift. It will be something she will always remember and cherish. Congratulations!

I love the vanity I got from Pottery Barn Teen here

No lights on the mirror but it's a beautiful & well-made piece with tons of storage & i love being able to angle the mirror. Plus has outlet feature so you can plug stuff in. They have a lot of other options too & offer white-glove delivery

I would want nothing more than an antique vanity that has been refinished. Other people want a white Ikea system. What is her personal style and what is the style in your home?

It’s more of a coastal style in the house so nothing very antique but this is a good suggestion for me to look at! I hadn’t thought much about this option!
