30M spent all Summer converting my shed to an office/media room
Wanted to gain some space back indoors and have a spot to call my own, so I spent the past 3 months converting my shed into a finished office and media room space. I am very fortunate to have learned many new skills. Will never touch drywall mud again if it can be helped!

I have the same feeling over installing new windows. Once and done with that. They were a pane. 🤪

Imagine my fun when I realized I put one of them in upside down.. learned my lesson about weep holes there.

That’s ok. I ordered the wrong sized windows and had to add pieces of wood into the frames to make them fit. 🤣

Thank you! And yes it has a mini-split so I’ve put the air conditioner to good use already. Time will tell this Winter how it does at heating.

This is definitely where looks are deceiving is applied! Great job converting! But where do you hang your shovel and rake now? ;)

Yeah I did. I went with a Mr. Cool diy. My biggest takeaway was that I should have done a more traditional diy unit like a Senville. The premium for Mr. Cool and the precharged linesets just doesn’t seem worth it to me in hindsight. I could have bought a higher end Senville unit with a good flare tool and vacuum pump and still come out ahead. Plus future serviceability would be easier for sure with a Senville and the proper tools.

Drywall mud is the worst, i feel you on that one. Did you run into any weird stuff with insulating the shed walls or was it pretty straightforward?

It was fairly straightforward, but the framing accuracy matters a lot. The shed had two walls where the studs were only 13" on center, so the insulation wasn't fitting well on those walls but it wasn't too difficult to trim down to avoid wadding the fibers.
